Well, I joined ECF a few short days ago. I made some glowing comments about my Kanger Evod and remarked that I was "totally satisfied". So of course, shortly thereafter, the charger starts failing on me.
I received my Kanger Evod starter kit on 4-8-13, so I have had it for only one month and one day. Of course my vendor has a 30 day return period for defective equipment, so as usual, I am a day late and a dollar short.
The LED light on the charger used to turn green, now it stays red. There is no variance in the shade of red either (it used to turn orange as the charge progressed, indicating the charge was almost complete.)
The contacts are clean.
I have used the charger on the AC-USB adapter as well as USB with the same results.
I am still able to vape but it is my belief that the unit is not fully charged. It feels weak. I have also noticed that as I am taking a hit, the LED on the battery (around the button) blinks 3 times. I assume this indicates low battery?
So here are my questions: Is this the kind of performance I should expect from these devices? Will I be replacing faulty USB chargers often? Or, could it be that my batteries are simply at the end of their life? Any tips or tricks that may get my back on track with this equipment? Is the a common problem? I am hoping it's just a faulty LED on the charger, but I have a sinking feeling that it's worse than that due to the blinking 3xs (after hours of charging).
I am freaking out over here because I don't have backups for my backups, yet.
Husband is an electrician, I will have him test equipment when I see him, but that won't be until Friday night.
