It's usually estimated that about a third of the liquid doesn't wick onto the atomiser before the cartridge has to be changed or refilled.

The most used flavourings here are Bickfords and LorAnn candy flavours. You can find out more about them and diy juice here - DIY e-liquid - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

The main thing to avoid with flavourings is oil, colourings and sugars. If you get propylene glycol based ones they can be used neat, the pg makes vapour.

You can syringe juice into your cartridges, use a dropper or soak them in a small container with eliquid in it.

Update:

I'm almost through five full days without wanting a cigarette. I did try to light one up last night, just because I have a pack laying here getting old. I thought I'd try it out and see if the taste changed like so many people have mentioned..

wow!

It was like trying to smoke a brush fire. Very harsh, the smoke burned my eyes, and my throat got irritated after only three puffs.. I had to put it out because I didn't even want to finish it.

It's kind of hard to believe that after nearly nine years of smoking, I could be turned off of it so quickly. I guess that's a good thing though!

On another note, I ordered three bottles of liquid from Litecigusa. I saw his special prices for October and couldn't pass up trying a few flavors. I got Real Mint, Vanilla, and Chocolate. All in the 11mg strength. I can't wait to try them!

I'm hoping the lower nicotine levels will work better for me. I'm still using the high cartridges, but I'm taking small puffs. And sometimes I'll just draw it in my mouth but not inhale. I'm guessing by doing that, I'll get less nicotine absorbed.

Yay? Nay?

Anyhow, everything's still going well for me. And I've had so much fun using it in public!! I used it at a restaurant a few nights ago, and turned away the ash tray when it was offered to me.

Talk about an odd look on everyone's face!

I've also used it at work. (Mind you I'm a dept. head for a major US retail chain, so smoking inside is a HUGE no-no!) One of my upper managers freaked out when I used it in front of him. I told him it wasn't a real cigarette, and the first thing he said was "whatever you're burning in there, get it out of the store, illegal stuff will get you fired!" I then told him it was an electronic cigarette, and the "smoke" was just water vapor with nicotine, but he didn't look convinced. I tried to show him the little booklet that came with my starter kit, but his head is too far up in the clouds to take a minute to read it.

I guess I'll just use it until someone actually makes a big deal of it, then I'll explain it to them.
