I just got all my DSE901 stuff but haven't used it yet. Anyways I heard you were supposed to drip some e-liquid in the atomizer before you use it, is this true? If so, do I drip in the end that connects to the battery, or the end that connects to the cartridge? And how many drops do I put in there? Also would it be just as good if I dripped water in the atty instead of e-liquid? I want to conserve my e-liquid.

One more thing. How many drops of e-liquid should I put in the cartridge? I don't want to overfill it.

I would first blow the atomizer out from both ends. Alot of atomisers come with some type of primer on it that tastes horrible. You drip the liquid into the atomiser on the cartridge side. You will see the wick inside of it. Drop 2 or 3 drops in it and let them soak in. Don't inhale the first few puffs, just in case you still have primer in it. I got into the habit of rinsing out new atomisers first because that primer is a killer. If you wash them out just make sure you let them thoroughly dry...

Primer can taste nasty but try a few puffs first - it could be ok.. If it doesn't taste good use the method described above - but I wouldn't rinse or wash at this stage. Once you get going keep a careful eye on your carts and top off as needed. Don't rush into full-time dripping - that's a great option once you have the hang of carts imho..

Fill the cart until the filler is soaked -- not just damp -- but not to the point where you see liquid pooling above or around the filler. It's not a disaster if you get a drop or two too much, just a little messy, but take note of what it looks like before that "too much" drop, so you can learn to stop there.

And after each drop, wait a second for it to soak in before the next drop. You should see (in the early stages) the drop kind of shimmer on the surface, and then disappear as it soaks into the filler. Right around when it stops disappearing is when you stop adding drops (a fresh, dry cart should take at least 15 drops, maybe 20-ish, while a cart that needs topping up might only need 5-10, depending on how much you depleted it).

Don't use water.

Water won't vaporize and will just get stuck in the atomizer until it evaporates. If you clean the atty with something you'll want to dry it very well before using it again.

I sometimes flood my 510 when I drip on the atty. I do better to just top off the cart.

Honestly I'd keep it simple to start. Put on the cart and see how it goes. It may taste good right out of the gate.

I rinsed the atty out last night at around 2am. Let it dry overnight and used it at 11am... The atomizer didn't work. Thanks a lot. Hopefully it's just not completely dry yet and will work later. Good thing I have another atomizer though.

I used the 901 for the first time about 15 minutes ago. It's ok, I just wish I got more vapor.

The best way to care for your atomizer is to do nothing. If it gets too much liquid it will flood. You will not get much vapor if there is too much liquid. And you will not get much vapor if it is dry... There is a fine line between too much and not enough.. The best way to tell if it is dry is you get a taste like burning plastic. Don't worry it isn't plastic. Just the wicking materials inside the atty. The atty has a coil that is wrapped around the wick. The wick draws liquid in from the bridge and cartridge. Keep your cart topped off and you should be good.. The biggest mistake I made at first was not getting enough juice in there. You will find a happy medium after a few weeks.

As far as vapor production goes..Take long EASy draws. Slow and steady. Just hard enough to keep the battery lit. If you have the button or manual battery even better because you don't have to pull hard. Remember slow and steady.

Good luck hope you are successful.
