Hey all, brand new to the forum here.
Ok so I bought this e-health starter kit from DX for $7 and it proves to me already that I can replace analog with e-cig, but it's apparent that it's not gonna happen with this kit. So after 2 days of research i'm so confused and tired of trying to learn this stuff that i'm starting this thread.

I was about to order the ego tank kit this morning, but after some specific research I see this might not be the best choice.
I was gonna spend about $65 on that so I guess that is my budget.

Can someone please enlighten me on what I should buy? I know that's a tough question to answer so I'll jot down some concerns I have.

I don't need it to look like a real cig, but I don't want it to look like some weird contraption either.
I don't need it to light up, if it does then w/e.
I like a decent throat hit and lots of vapor (duh)
From what i've read a push button IS the way to go so....
I prefer not to refill this constantly with juice, 3 times a day or so...?
I don't want to have to cut up tea bags (you know what i mean)

Any help with this will be greatly appreciate.

GotVapes E-POWER Replaceable Battery eGo Kit - Stainless Steel [gotvapes-epower-stainless] - $48.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

This was just introduced and looks awesome. Just told my brother to order soon.
If I didn't already have a variable voltage Buzz(which I LOVE) and a 3.7V Bottomfeeder Mod, and a 3.7V mechanical PV, I'd order 1 too. I'm just not one of many that "collect" PV's. I use each of mine weekly if not daily. But ... I vape all day and 1/2 the night, so I've got the time. One of the bennies of newly being retired.:thumb:

You could just buy a Riva kit from Liberty-Flights. If you click the Discount Code tab you can use the code to get another 20% off your purchase and it'll run you about $40. I started with a Riva and haven't looked back since!

You can also use cartomizers, which I think are easier to deal with than carts. If you get the XL style, you can fill them with about 1.8ml of juice and that'll last you a while.

Make sure that you get plenty of juice! Buy several small bottles with different flavors and a couple of different nicotine levels so you can find out what will work best for you.

Im using these batteries and charger (a USB to mini can be use to charge the small one also): The INFERNO eCig Accessories
To put on the batteries I'm using the Giantomizers: Giantomizer - Black - 5 Pack (Some dont like them, though I'm not sure why.)
The e-juice I use, anything from these 2 sites: Backwoods Brew , and Important Information

I dont like messin around with filling, charging.....etc. This set-up works great. A full charge on either battery should last you all day and the Giamtomizer should last longer than both batteries combined.

Hi and welcome to ecf. An ego-T system works for some of us. I have been using them since they came out and do like them. Seems to work better with clearer juice tho, as darker juices seem to clog it easier. These are extremely easy to use also. But the kit Rosco lists above is also a great deal. There is a lot to learn about your new-found hobby/habit. but it is not hard.....Just ask questions when you have them.

I have both an Ego-T (tank) and a Joye 510 ... actually love them both. I have also purchased Pass-Throughs for both and use an AC adapter to plug into the regular wall socket rather than run them/charge them off of my computer (don't need anything happening to that!!! LOL). The Ego-T really beats the 510 as far as how often you have to refill, but once in awhile I do have a leak issue (not often enough to really be concerned/upset about).

What really made a huge difference/impact on me when I started about 3-4 weeks ago was the e-liquid/juice ... I thought originally I would want a flavor that resembles what I had smoked .... WRONG! I find I much prefer a "flavor" that's not tobacco-like (currently in love with JaegerBomb/licorice and PinaColada ... also like CherryCoke and the orange taste of FuzzyNavel). I have been ordering juice from FreedomSmokesUSA and kicked up the flavor additive a notch as well as the nicotine content.

I truly think that more important than the hardware is going to be the juice that you use in it if you want to really enjoy using your e-cig. BTW, on my 510 I don't do the "tea bag" trick, but I have been cutting the filler material in half and that does help with the frequent refill issue.

The only way to get around the "hassle" of refilling is to buy prefilled cartos. This has three distinct and huge disadvantages:

1) Way more expensive in the long run over buying juice, refilling yourself and using the cartos several times instead of once.
2) Prefilled cartos can be inconsistent in both performance and flavor.
3) They're becoming more difficult to find and your flavor options are limited.

If you're going to make the switch, then you'll have to make some compromises and get used to some "hassles." Refilling isn't that difficult and once you've got it down, it doesn't really take that long.

I think carts are more of a pain than cartos. I've been using the XL 510 and 808 cartos from IkenVape with great success. They're easy to fill and last for hours before I need to refill. I've been using the same cartos for a month now without any problems; no change in flavor or performance.

Thanks for all the info, keep em coming. I'm back to considering the ego-tank. For $65 it comes with 650mAh batteries, for $72 it comes with 1000mAh batteries. should I spend a little more for the bigger batteries?

I have no doubt that I want to refill with juice, i just don't want to have to cut some kind of material everytime I refill.

I'm refilling el cheapo with red bull flavor juice. it's ok but it also is el cheapo

for such a minimal difference, I'd get the bigger batteries. I've never used that system - I use a KR808d-2 (aka Green Smoke, Smoke 51, etc). Anything that gives you longer battery life is better! I have three batteries, and generally there's always one on a charger.

Refilling cartomizers is SUPER easy. I am inherently lazy and don't like messes (especially with a 4 year old!), so if I think it's easy, you will! You just put some drops in the rubber end that comes on your blank cartomizer, push the cartomizer into it, and it soaks up the liquid. Wipe off the little bit of excess off the outside of the carto and you're done. For my first time, I timed it - it took me 2 minutes 22 sec to refill 5 cartomizers.

The Riva for $30 comes with 750mah batteries - check the Riva lite bundle at Liberty-flights.com

Go to the main page of Liberty-flights.com with Internet Explorer (Firefox didn't show me the discount box) and click the 20% discount in the upper left corner. If you don't have IE then instead search Google for Liberty-Flights.com and some of the pages listed for LF should include the 20% discount page = click that.

Then click Riva 510 down the left side of the site and look at the Riva Lite bundle. With the 20% in effect it is under $30.

if you want later you can add an Ego tank atty and tank to the Riva.

This is really the way to go. If you get this option, you can get the two Riva 510 batteries (each lasts about 7 hours), two atomizers, 5 cartridges, cone cover, charger, PLUS one tank atomizer and 5 tank carts, PLUS a drip tip, PLUS two boxes of Boge 510 Cartomizers for about the same $$ as just one eGo-T kit with XL batts.

I started with a joye510, then a 601 e-pipe (looking for max vapor & TH).
I now use a Janty Jets (Janty Ego Tank System).
I love it, it seems to be a better build then the ego tanks, never had a leakage problem, the atties last forever and the 900mah batteries go for about 24 hours (2hr recharge time).
I can use all my 510 atties on it when dripping, I have also used the CE2 XL cartomizers on the batteries.
It seems to be a trend that if you get the Ego batteries, all the new cartomizers/giantomizers will fit (saving on buying new kits with every upgrade). My :2c:

couple questions... would I need the tank atomizers in order to use the tank carts, and would I need the cartomizers if i'm getting the tank carts?
oh and would I need the drip tips with the tank carts?
I know I have a lot of questions, but i'm learning a lot, still a lil lost

To use the tank, you have to use tank atomizers. They can be purchased separate from the battery. It is the battery that makes it an eGo or an eGo clone in the case of the Riva. Cartomizers are a completely different animal. A normal 510/eGo/Riva comes with some atomizers with separte poly filled cartridges (carts) that are not compatible with the tank. An eGo-T comes with a tank atomizer and tanks. A cartomizer (carto) is a one piece combination atomizer and cartridge. They are quite convenient. Neither the atomizer cart combination nor the cartomizer can be used with a tank atomizer.

I am going to ask a super-dumb question ... I have a couple of "cones" that came with an Ego Mega Cart and Atomizer ... what in the world are the cones for? What am I missing here? The Cart fits in the Atomizer, and the atomizer fits/screws onto the Ego batteries ... the only thing I can think of is if I'm using an Ego battery with a 510 Cartomizer combo ... is that correct?

Like MickeytheRat said, when you buy anything "eGo" you are basically choosing the eGo/510 platform battery. The best thing about eGo batteries is that they can be used in so many different ways. With the combination that I showed you you can vape the following ways:

• battery + tank atomizer + tanks
• battery + standard atomizer + cartridge
• battery + standard atomizer + drip tip
• battery+ cartomizer

FOUR different ways! VS spending about the same amount on an eGo-T kit and only being able to use it one way.

It's always a good idea to try vaping a few different ways to see what you like best (remember tanks get mixed reviews and most vapers still prefer either cartomizers or drip tips or both). PLUS, I do highly recommend having the option to use a standard atomizer with a drip tip EVEN if you are planning to just use the tank system because the drip tips make it so easy to taste/sample your different e-liquid flavors (this is not as easy if you use tanks or cartomizers).

So no, you don't NEED extra stuff, but if you can get it for about the same price then why not?
