I have a KR808D-1 two piece kit and am having trouble finding full (16-18mg) menthol cartridges in stock. It appears that the juice is easily obtainable though. I understand that the cartomizers can be refilled and have even watched some you-tube videos on how to do it (courtesy of some ECF members-thanx).

My questions are;
1.) How long does the atomizer in these last? Or, how many refills can you do?

2.) Do blank cartomizers that are made to be refilled last longer than the so called disposable ones?
:confused:

It depends on the quality of the cartomizer. I was using the same carto day in and day out for days (several refills/day) sometimes weeks. If the performance dropped or the draw became hard, I used to clean them by boiling and rinsing with vodka. However, after awhile I had so many lying around that I'd just toss them when they got clogged. Out of 70 or 80 cartos, I only had a handful that actually died on me.

As for prefilled/blanks. I never really noticed much difference in the number of refills, but it's been awhile since I used standard cartos that I can't recall off the top of my head.

if you make sure to refill a cartos before they are completely dry, you should be able to get at least 5 or 6 refills out of one. I have refilled some way more times than that before they start to go a bit wonky on me, but I dont think I have ever had one I couldnt get at least 5 or 6 out of, so I will use that. A prefilled carto is just a blank that has been used once. Same same.

Okay, now I got to ask for the technical definition of 'wonky'? lol! Seriously, what's the first clue that the cart is 'done for'?

Speaking of prefilled, I know I don't want to put something completely different in it, but how much of a flavor change can you get away with? For instance, if I had a regular tobacco flavored cart could I refill it with menthol?

I think you would be fine going from regular to menthol..going from menthol to regular, however would not work too well..that menthol never goes away. As for other changes, I try to only go fruit to fruit, or desert to desert..like I have a butterfinger (yes, I said butterfinger. It is to DIE for!) , and I will use straight chocolate or a caramel in that one. From my apple cobbler to maybe my lemon poundcake.

I admit it..I am like a kid..all sweet vapes.

I have heard good thing about liberty flights, but have not used them yet. I have gotten juices from V4L, freedomsmokeusa, and mr e liquid so far. All 3 have given good juices. Freedomsmokes has an incredible variety of juices. I ordered from mer e liquid because he had a free shipping day a few days ago, and I got 4 sample flavors from him. All good flavors. I particularly enjoyed the cherry lemonade. All 3 of those companies have had fast shipping, decent prices and good juice.

I use Vapor4Life cartos and get about 4-7 days out of each prefilled one by refilling them , sometimes more. I haven't tried none-Vapor4Life blanks yet but I plan to try Boge soft-caps for KR808D-1 because I can get 2 weeks out of the Boge soft-caps for 510.

And re prefilled cartos vs unfilled - doesn't matter - just depends on the quality of the cartomizers used.

Note - I actually get twice as much use out of each than I stated because I vape both the 510 and KR8 with cartos every day so I am vaping each half the time. Vaping a carto 1/2 the time, I get 1-2 weeks out of a V4L and up to a month out of a Boge 510 carto on my 510.

For the kr, I've fallen in love with the premium cartos from litecig (KR808d-1 PREMIUM Blank Cartomizers)

I chain vape (by which I mean 4 or 5 puffs, then put it down for a minute or 3) all day. I refill a carto probably 5 times per day - really 1/2 fill 10 times per day since I don't try and suck them dry. I'll use these for about a week each before tossing them. I've never had one taste burned. Even if you let them get a little too hot, the flavor doesn't taste burned, just gets really thin because there's no juice at the heating element. I've yet to see one die - a buck and a half a week is a pretty nice return on my money to me, so I don't stress over tossing them. Oh, and I've never cleaned one either.

As far as the second question, I believe the filled cartos marketed as a "use it once, then toss it" solution are the absolute cheapest they can find. Even most unfilled KR cartos I've run into, you could fill the first time with 20 drops but by then end of day 2, only seems to hold half as much liquid.
