I switched from regular cigarettes to the e-cigs about 3 months ago.

Started with a eGo-C 650mh battery and a Kanger MT3s Clearomizer. I needed a second battery and picked up an eGo-Ctwist. I found that I did like the higher voltage setting better than the standard.

Worked great for a while but then it started to leak. What a mess. Swapped out the base and that made the leak go away until it was time to swap out the coil when the leak returned.

Went to the local shop and bought another MT3s to start over. While there I picked up a Kanger ProTank 2. It's been working great so far.

So I've been reading around here and see all kinds of variations on the ecig. The one thing I see a lot of is the variable voltage and wattage batteries.

Is there a big difference with the vv/vw batteries? the twist and protank 2 seem good, but I don't know any better.

Anything else that should be obvious as an option that I'm missing?

Thanks

so you have been vaping for a while? well you can get a mvp which is an internal battery that offers vv/vw also offers an ohm checker... if you are satisfied with it, stick with it... but if you want to step up, depends on what steps you want...

mvp not a huge investment but a step up... provides a bunch of options... im not sure what you are asking about, you have some of the vv from the twist, vv allows you to change your watts, vw you dont have to do the math to change your watts, just set and go...

now if you step up to an advanced mod that houses batteries my favorite thing about my svd, isnt the vv/vw, dont get me wrong its nice and i like it, but its the removable battery...

i have 2 18650 batts, when one gets low, i pop it out and put the new one in, charge them when im home but im not tethered to a usb, or using a diff device...

changing the batts is an awesome feature, like i said my favorite thing about my svd...

Hello and welcome ...

I would suggest changing up your clearo, and try a Aspire ET-S glassomizer. In my personal opinion I think this is the perfect hassle free juice delivery system for a newbie. There will not be any leaking, or gurgling, just a nice, smooth, and consistent vape. You can get it with free shipping at the link below, and they sell the replacement coils as well.

Eigate Aspire ET-S BDC Pyrex glass clearomizer

As far as variable voltage Ego style batteries, I am inclined to say that they are pretty much all the same, but I have only used the Ego Twist. Now if you are asking about Variable Voltage/Wattage Mods also known as APV's, then that is a different story, and yes they are different. APV's have more features and functions than a Ego Twist, some of which may not be applicable to you now being that you are new to this, but later on as you gain experience you will definitely want, and need one.

The Twist and a Protank 2 or 3 are also solid options for a good working set up .. if you can afford it, try the Aspire ET-S and the Protank 2. Good luck with everything. :)

Some people prefer the vw because it is more of a set and forget mode. Set it to say 7.5 watts and no matter what ohm coil you have on it, the device will apply the correct voltage. I prefer the vv mode as I seem to be able to better "fine tune" my vape. I do have to fiddle with it a little when I change coils, but I like to fiddle. :D

I too started with a standard ego battery and then moved up to the twist. Both worked great to get me off of the analogs. I bought a couple of Vamos because I wanted a longer battery life. Bought an MVP 2 a while back for the same reason. I still have and use my twists when I'm out and about.

If you're looking for an inexpensive "next step up", check out the MVP 2. Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape They are currently out of stock but you can enter your e-mail for when they do get them in.
