I am looking for some advice on buying me first e-cigarette. I currently smoke Camel Wides, so I am looking for something that has about the same concentration of nic. per puff and close to the same flavor. I just have a couple of questions.

After reading around the forums I found some consitent problems with e-cigarettes. They may leak, or the battery charge does not last long, they need to be requiently reloaded with liquid, and the atomizer breaks down. Is there a brand that does not have these problems? Would a cigar-style e-cigarette have a longer lasting battery, i.e. less frequent charging required? Would it need to be reloaded less frequently with liquid?

Finally, where is a good place to buy? I am kinda excited about trying this to quit smoking, and I would like to buy one in town tomorrow, but I have never seen this at any local smoke shop. Does Wal-Mart or Target carry these things, and if so, what is their selection like. If not, what is a good website to order from? I have heard of PureSmoker.com, and they have the cigare type with cheap batteries, but what about atomizer and other replacement parts? Also, when I tried to select a e-liquid there were no other options available other then default. Perhaps they are having web-server problems.

Thanks for your help and patience.

per puff ir relative but what i can tell you and confirm is the tennesse cured by johnshoncreeksmoke juice is good and so is virigina from totally wicked. as far as nic level get the highest you can and cut it down read more in the diy section.

device size tells you how long it will last battery and juice level
my 901 when i started was excatly like you stated but now i find it last longer cause i dont need it as often i use a stronger nic then i need most of the time and switch to 0nic when i dont need works like a charm

puresmoker is good so is altsmoke

rn4075 are 901 with an overclocked atomiser otherwise they work

I do not know anything about the cigar style. From most of the threads I have read, fiddling with e-cig is a normal occurrence. I like it so much better than (as Kate calls it) the "stinkies" I deal with it. I have been able to pop the cart out and top it off with one hand while driving I even figured out that when I get a wispy hit I probably flooded my atomizer so I just burn it off by popping the cart and sucking without (great hit). It becomes second nature. I started out with a cheep super mini and have a couple of different 901 styles, I now have a penstyle and like it the best, the cart is bigger and the bats last me most of the day. I read allot of good things about puresmoker and Janty, when the funds are up I would like to try the dura or something close to it. But when I was ready to venture outside of ebay they were sold out (no drop down) or having issues. So I ventured out with a supplier that was close to my area (Atlanta) and he has been wonderful (Vapor Nine) so far he has responded right away, he even called me at work when I was having issues. My point being maybe it is better to go with the local smaller guys as you might get better (personable) service. If you scroll down in the main page you will see a list of supporting suppliers above their links to their site is usually a thread of conversations between the supplier and his customers, this might help in deciding who you would like to try first. You used to be able to buy e-cigs at Target but only on line, but I do not see them anymore. I have heard of e-cigs being available in kiosks at different malls, but I think for the most part they are mostly over priced. Hope I have been helpful, I do tend to ramble sorry.....

Okay. First thing's first.

Is there a brand without unwanted potential defects? Not necessarily free from defects..but rather more tolerant to wear and tear. I ordered anRN4081 and plan to buy my cartridges/spare parts from PS. As far as ecigars go, I'm lacking in that knowledge as I've not done any research on those.

To the best of my knowledge neither Wal-Mart nor Target carry the ecigs, depending on where you live. I'm in Alabama.

Concerning the lack of being able to select the strength/flavor/color of LED light/etc on puresmoker, they expain in the FAQ section that this is indicative of the fact that they are out of stock of that item(even if the item is flagged as 'in stock').

Hope this helps ya.

This reply would've been more helpful if the danged form would let me post hyperlinks. :p Alas, the drawbacks of being a junior member.

Okay. First thing's first.

Is there a brand without unwanted potential defects? I believe so. And they are, based on several youtube reviews, the following: the Intellicig EVOlution and the NJOY Npro.

Exylis, I know you are trying to be helpful, but it's really not correct or wise to tell a new prospective ecig buyer that any particular brand or model is free from "potential" defects. For they all do have potential problems! Ecig parts will fail at some point, and must be viewed as relatively consumable. The good news is that, especially if you are careful in choosing, replacement parts are not all that expensive, and ecig use can definitely be much less expensive than buying cigarettes, even when liquid costs and replacement parts are figured in.

Another thing, the NJOY Npro is a super mini, or RN 4081/DSE 103, and the reality is that super minis are one of the least favored devices around here. Some reasons for this are the tiny cart size and short battery life.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-dispreferences-poll-no-longer-anonymous.html

And the company NJOY, while it may have a warranty, also has its share of dislikers too. I personally would never recommend anyone buy anything from NJOY, because they lie about how long their cartridges should last and because their carts are ridiculously expensive. They deliberately pretend liquid for refilling doesn't exist, because they want people to only buy their expensive cartridges. They pretend to be some great "brand name" device, when in reality their ecigs are just rebranded copies of the exact same generic RN devices sold at places like Puresmoker for much less money.

Bottom line, I would respectfully ask you to consider perhaps recommending ecigs by model name or number (ie, 901, classic penstyle, evo or m401, etc), and not necessarily by "brand" name. And also possibly reconsider whether you really want to be recommending that a new person get a super mini, when almost everyone here would be recommending a 901 or a penstyle instead.
