Newb temp setting question

so I just ordered a mod that controls the temp. I am using a mutation v4 with 26 kanthal dual coil reading about .4 ohms
What would be a good starting temp to set it at?
400 F?

You can't use temp control with kanthal. It just won't work. You need wire suited for temp control, such as nickel (ni200) or titanium (grade 1)

To add: your tc mod will work with kanthal, but the tc functionality will not. As stated you need to build your coils with ni200 or titanium.

Do yourself a favor and get either 28g or 30g on ni200 because the resistance is so low you tend to have to use a quite bit more compared with kanthal builds

I don't know if the v4 is the same as my v2, but there's some internal resistance funkiness that requires the temp to be lower then with other decks. Where I run most of my Ni builds at 420F, I run my mutation at 370-380F.

Yeah I've noticed similar behavior with ni200 the smallest things will cause the resistance to change no biggie once you just use to temp to adjust for it
