Hello everyone!

I received my 510 kit a few days ago, and I love it. I've decided that I'm going to stick with this model, so I want to order some more stuff for it now. I know that I need some more batteries and atomizers, but how many? I don't think I'm a very heavy vaper because my batteries seem to last WAY longer than others with a 510 have said. For instance, I've been using the current battery for about 8 hours without charging.

Soo... what do you think? How many additional atomizers and batteries should I order? I was thinking that I'd get 2 batteries and 2 atomizers. Does that sound like enough? Should I order more atomizers?

When I do get my additional atomizers and batteries, how should I test them to make sure they aren't bad? What are the symptoms of a bad battery or atomizer, or is it really about lifespan?

Also, is it important to store unused atomizers in a certain way, or does it not really matter?

Thanks!!

Ummm.. I'm probably not the guy to be posting in this topic since I've spent over $500 in the 8 days I've been a vaper...BUT, that being said I think 2 bats and 2 attys extra should be fine. Have you gotten a pass through? They are phenomenal and will save your batteries.

As for atomizer storage I have about 7 sitting in a bowl in a drawer. I would imagine that if it's a cool, dry place you should be fine.

No idea about testing my parts other then then ol' fashioned way of hooking them up and going to town. All my products have come through ship-shape.

Hi Elmokin, Welcome to ECF.

I guess it depend on how long you intend to be vaping. Each battery can last a good while but you can plan on replacing the atomizers every two or three weeks. Some last longer but some only last a few days. I figure on 3 weeks each myself. Batteries are 4 to 6 months or longer depending on use.
It also depends on your views on the recent FDA issues. I plan on vaping for a while longer so I have 8 batteries and 20 atomizers. I mean, If you are going to use something anyway, you might as well get enough to last a while.

Test and store your stuff like Porphy says, should be fine. Liquid goes in the fridge.

On the FDA, it's common knowledge that big Pharma and big Tobacco have been paying them for years. They don't get a dime of tax money.
This device thing has been an argument since the beginning. I feel the devices should be above the ban but the FDA does what they want. I have a feeling it won't be long until we get the final decision.

( now enter the whole " but drug paraphernalia is still sold" argument). The FDA are not reasonable when they are being paid to do things. No one paid them to ban drug paraphernalia because it does not cut into Pharma and Tobacco money. People don't use bongs to quit smoking tobacco. They don't use pipes instead of patches and gum.
I know what your thinking, but that's a whole different argument.
I'm not in a panic, but concerned? yes.

Atomizer life is one of lifes great mysteries.Ive had one last for 3 months easy (and still going) and had another that didnt go 3 weeks.
Ive had attys just "die" and have had two that seemed to perform crappy no matter what I tried...but still worked.Either scenario calls for buying a new 10 dollar part.

Why not just buy another kit? Then you have 4 attys,4 batteries, etc. If you start pricing out spare parts individually, you often make out.

when this happens, couldn't we jsut buy products from overseas?

That is the plan, however, in the event of a ban it becomes illegal to import these items and what customs will do is just flag all imports from know e-cig companies.
A lot will get through but eventually they will find them all and stop them by banning imports from those companies and all the brokers they use. When they start getting fined for this they will refuse to ship the stuff.
They could even get real nasty if they want to and start trapping people for importing illegal items just like if you tried to get a shipment of ...... sent to you from China. They wait for you to pick up the package then bust you8-o I don't think it will ever come to this but it's food for thought.

I hope it all blows over but the FDA are not known for letting go once they start something, unless they are paid to.
