Hey everyone,

So I have been vaping for just over a week now, and I have two ego twists 900mAh which are great but I just ran into a problem with one of them. When I received the twists, I charged one right away and started using the other one. Once the first battery was completely charged, I put the second battery on the charger to fill it up all the way for the first time (I didn't drain it, it was still going on the charge that it came with).

I've also got a redds kitt which I use on the go, so I haven't had to charge my twists much. I drained one battery a few days ago, and placed it on the charger for the second time ever and had no problems with it. Now today, just five minutes ago, I drained the second battery and it blinked a lot (not sure if the other battery blinked as many times when it was drained). I pressed the button just to make sure it was dead and no light so I placed it on the charger.... but the charger light stayed green. I thought that was wrong, so I tried putting my fuller one in and it turned red and blinked as it did before. I put the drained battery in the charger again, and again the green light never changed.

What has happened? Do I have a bad battery or something? It is only the second charge on this battery, will it be covered?

I'd appreciate any info you can give, thanks.

I believe the twists have the 5 click on, 5 click off. it seems like I read of a similar problem recently and it turns out the twist had been turned off. so try that :)

Also, when the twist goes dead, the light in the button will flash about 20 times letting you know it needs to be fully recharged. It won't work at all until you charge it.

Well, I played around with it and got it working!

It wasn't the 5 click problem, I had tried that already.... I found another thread where someone advised another member with a battery problem that it could be the atty and they should use a paperclip to pull part of it down as it may not be making contact with the battery. That wasn't my problem, but it gave me the idea that maybe my battery wasn't making contact with the charger. I used a knife and just pulled up on the connection a bit on each side, plugged it into the charger and the red light came on!

I don't know what happened to push it down in the first place, but so far it is charging!

Thanks for the replies!

Just a quick update....

Both of my batteries have this problem now when recharging. I simply use a knife to pry the battery connection up ever so slightly and it works in the charger immediately. I don't know what caused this, they both work on all my attachments all the time.... maybe it is the charger itself?

I primarily use a Vivi Nova tank, is this the center post problem?

All atties have varying centre pin lengths, so it sometimes will push the battery centre pin down slightly.

Try using a toothpick rather than a metal pin. Or at least make sure the battery is turned off, or you dont press the fire button.

Can cause a short otherwise, and that will fook your battery

Thanks, I should use a non-metal item... I could accidentally hit the fire button eh, wouldn't want to screw the battery! It is only a minor nuisance.

I looove my twists. That's pretty much the only thing I use other than my bombshell at home. They last me a while, if you get them from a confirmed supplier, but you have to make sure you only charge them on 3.2v. I clean mine with a q-tip before I dial it down to 3.2 I read somewhere on here that if you habitually charge it on higher voltages it fries the BUCK boost circuit board. I don't know how true that is, but I do know that I do it everytime and my mother, who doesn't , goes through twists like they're going outta style. I don't like to spend money if I don't have to so I would rather be safe than sorry lol

This happened to me on my vmax. Dont screw the attys too tight.

That was my first thought, and something I am going to take to heart. So far I have had no problems with mine (crossing fingers).

To the OP: I might consider getting another one from another vendor and see if it is a problem with the particular vendor's goods and not something you are doing. Since eGo's are disposable, within a few months you are going to need a new one either way, may as well find out if it is a problem while they are so new and you can get your money back. If it turns out to be the "thing" you are screwing into it pushing down the pin, don't screw it so tight. But, at least you will have a definitive answer. And a backup :)

I never thought I was screwing the tank on too tight, but who knows, maybe. I pretty much screw it on gently but to the point it won't tighten any further with the minimum pressure I use.

I have probably recharged each of the two twists about ten times each, I haven't kept count. But they have been in use for a month now and this is the only problem I have encountered. I trust the vendor I purchased them from as they have an excellent reputation here in Canada, excellent customer service and without a doubt the lowest prices available in Canada and lower than most of the American sites I have browsed! (Canvape) They are genuine Joyetech as well, and I really can't see switching vendors as some of the other vendors are charging between $5-$15 dollars more than Canvape and all the accessories are priced more expensive as well... I prefer to make big orders from one vendor and save on shipping and switching just wouldn't be economical at all.

That is the first time I have heard about charging them at the 3.2v setting... I will have to do that from now on... so far I have been charging them at whatever they were last set on, usually around the 3.8v to 4.4v range. I thought these batteries would last 250-300 charges? If they do then I should be able to get at least a year at of them at the rate I am charging them. I use a Redds kit as well during the day while at work and have only had to recharge a twist every few days.

This problem is a slight nuisance but overall I am really happy with the setup.

The centre pin should only be raised a mm or 2, otherwise risking a loose wire.

Sorry if this is telling mum how to suck eggs, but if it saves ruining a battery!

No worries, I barely touch it when I raise it... just nudge it and then turn and nudge it on the opposite side.

I have used a Stardust on the batteries as well, so it could be the culprit... oh well, who knows... not a big deal so far.

I appreciate all the info though guys!:)
