Take one day at a time. Just like that song. Do not worry if you still need a analog.
Just have one. I am one of the slow quitter myself. I would read on here that others were stopping, just like that. That is not my story.

I decided not to worry about the other fast quitters. I took my own pact.
I went from two packs a day to one pack a day. Than later down to 15 a day. Than down to 10 a day.

I am now at 1 a day. I still want my morning analog. That will leave soon, when I am ready.

Just let your body tell you. I use 24mg in my liquids.

I also had to find a good e-cig and a flavor of liquid that I liked.
I searched until I found.

Good to see you here, tank..

Don't be so hard on yourself...quitting a habit that has consumed one for a lifetime is not a snap of the fingers process....
Smoke a cig if you have to....but only 1. Not 2, not 5, not a pack. Count each and every cigarette that you DON'T smoke as a personal victory. Count every time you lift your PV as the same personal victory.

And, try training yourself to re-associate things. Have your beer....Enjoy your brew. But enjoy it with a PV, and not an analog. Don't punish yourself by not allowing yourself to enjoy something (beer) until you're ok with not enjoying something else(cigs) ... you're setting yourself up to fail that way.

Take your time and relax into it..... it'll come.

and, by all means, continue to look for support here, we're all a great bunch to lend a helping hand, advise, and support....

Yes good advice Vicks. I forgot that I kept close count on my analogs use.
I only smoked one if I really needed it. The forum is very important.

Want to add ,that I got me a cig case and carried all my analogs that I was allowed for the day in case. That is how I started out. Each week put a few less in case.
I told you I was a slow quitter!

You also made good points that I missed, Rejoice ... and that's the glory of an online community!

I couldn't give advise on being a slow quitter myself...I was one of the lucky ones. The first night I picked up my PV was it.... that was the connection, what I had been searching for since I first lit up a cig in the 80's. 3+ months down the line and I'm more committed then ever to my PV.....I never want tobacco again.

You'll get rid of that morning analog when you're good and ready, I've confidence in you....

You might try getting some 36mg and using that when you really want an analog, that is what worked for me. I didn't use the 36mg totally, but added it when I really wanted one. Other than that I used 12mg. I also didn't just put the analogs down the first day either. I used both for about 2 weeks, slowly dropping the amount of analogs I was using until one day I noticed they tasted really GROSS! I do still use the 36mg occasionally, but not near as often as I did.

You can do it, Tank, just hang in there and don't beat yourself up if you have an analog here and there along the way. As the others have said before me...for some, it takes a little time. I was a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker for 37 years. I'm analog-free right now, but it took me about a month and a half before I could say goodbye to my cancer sticks. I was still smoking 'just that one' per day and, all of a sudden it occurred to me that I hadn't lit one up at all one day. I really haven't looked back, either, because towards the end of the analogs I realized that vaping tastes and satisfies me soooo much more. You'll get there (with a little help from your friends :)).

My approach is to not deny myself anything. As soon as I say I can't have any more of something it becomes so important to get it. I smoke whatever I want, whenever I want. I went from a pack and a half a day to two cigs a day without noticing it. Just think that every time you pick up your e-cig instead of an analog you are eliminating one cigarette's worth of tar and carcinogens (and saving money). Pretty soon you find that you prefer the e-cig and will choose it out of preference. Then you find that you don't really like the taste of analogs.

For me, the hardest part is that with 2 a day I get a head rush from an analog, and I kind of like that. I'll have to get some high nic juice for my daily dose.

Remember, when you try to quit smoking analogs, you're addicted to more than just the nicotine, so your body will be craving all those yummy, yummy incredible chemicals from analogs. That seriously took 3 weeks + or more for me to get over. I just made my mind up, getting the vape and hand to mouth and the nic was ENOUGH to keep me away. It wasn't perfect, the rest was will power. You gotta have the WILL.

If you're anything like me thinking about quitting makes it harder to quit. Just vape away and don't put any pressure on your mind to quit. I just started vaping and the taste of analog's made them unbearable. The e-cig is the one tool that makes it easy to slowly quit. I'd say vape for a week and if you're not down to one or two then step up the nicotine. I went from 40 to 4 in 3 days but when my 36mg arrived that was the end of the cravings. I have less willpower than anyone I've ever met. So don't put any undue pressure on yourself

For me my 501 wasn't doing it for me. I switched over to a 901 and that seemed to work. It took almost a week for me to stop smoking analogs. Now a days I don't even think about smoking analogs.
I say just give your self time and don't put any pressure on yourself. Also trying a higher mg of nicotine when you are really feeling like you need an analog might even do the trick.

Me too, Lucky. I know I was getting enough nic, I was even chewing some nic gum when I couldn't go outside to vape. Once I quit analogs I went through about 3 intense days of craving *something* but I didn't know what. Cold sweats, jittery nerves. Fortunately I was super busy at work and just plowed throught it and voila, no more analogs!

Good luck tank, when you're ready you will be able to do it!:thumb:

We had a BBQ yesterday and had a bunch of smoking friends over. They all tried my 510 and were impressed. The problem I have is I don't usually take puff after puff on the 510, it's just a little strong for me. I have the med nicotine juice. But yesterday I missed the continual dragging so I ended up smoking 4 or 5 analogs. I hadn't smoked since Tuesday when I got my first 510, haven't felt like I needed to. Today I'm back to just vaping. I really don't think it matters that much. I didn't start vaping to quit smoking totally but it seems like it may work out that way eventually. I don't see anything wrong with enjoying a real smoke now and then. I never smoked in the house because of my partner and it feel so free to be able to vape in bed, in the kitchen, etc.
