Newbie 510 user . . . Happy!

I just received my 510 in the mail yesterday . . . first impression is key.

Once I researched e-cig's I wanted something that was strong throat wise. Vapor production seemed nice but after smoking close to a pack a day the throat hit was my biggest concern.

Both throat and vapor are outstanding. Not sure of battery life since I have only owned it for a day but so far no complaints.

The key to me seems to be the the inhale. I've played with this for a few hours and have found it best (with a manual battery) to take a nice slow/medium draw, and once I release the manual button I inhale at the exact same time. Been working like a charm so far. I have been using 18 and 24 mg nicotine strengh.

I have had 4 cigarettes since noon yesterday which is a vast improvment. Anyways I've found it to be a great buy, and if anyone has any basic questions on the product, I could try to answer them to the best of my brief knowledge.

The 510 is a pretty good system. I just received mine too and I agree that it works well.

something doesnt seem quite right to me. I just got my 510 and a couple of bottles of juice from my freedom smokes the other day. If I just take a tiny puff I get a tiny amount of flavor, not very much vapor, and it feels harsher on my throat than any analog I have ever smoked. If I take a long slow drag, I get more vapor, but still not much, it tastes like Im smoking chemicals, and its even more harsh on my throat. Is there something wrong with my 510 or is it always like this?

So you got blank cartridges and filled them yourself with the juice you bought?

Did it behave this way right when you got it and continues to behave this way?
Or did you get some good drags at first and then it started behaving this way?

Yes, yes, and no.

Some atomizers seem to come with some sort of "primer" fluid on them.
Whatever it is, it can taste absolutely horrible.

Some people say to just keep smoking right through it until it is gone.
Some people say to clean the atomizer in any number of various ways.

Dollar to a donut that you flooded the atty. 501s are notorious for this. Blow it out by taking off the atty. Blow through the cartridge side into a paper towel. Then plug the battery end with a finger and blow through the little holes to clean them out.

501 atties and their interaction with juice remind me of sex. There is usually only two possible problems, too much or too little....

I don't remember if the "primer" was harsh or not, but it might have been.
