I am grateful to all who chime in, so far this is such a great forum - I could get lost here for months.

I started with the Blu and hated that it kept flashing at me no matter what (waiting 10 min, charged, un charged, raining out, sunny, etc.) so I switched to V2 manual and that was a bit better, but I still find myself charging and switching all the time.

I am starting to feel like I am a vapor junkie. And the pre-filled carts are pricey! So I ordered last week their version of a clearo (?), but their shipping is very long!

I really like the small size (cigarette like, 'pen style' ) but want something that will last a day with out charging - also smaller size will be more convenient at workplace - thoughts?

I also was thinking about getting a more high grade one for home, like the new evic/vamo/ramalamadingdong (all these new things are a bit overwhelming to all of us newbies), so I guess I would want the juice holders (carts/clearos, tanks) to be compatible for both.

also can you recommend a good easy to fill small clearo to use just for sample juice packs, or should I just dedicate a larger one for that use.

I just ordered 2 sample packs from Rawr.

Thanks in advance!

Hi nyplayful1, and welcome!

I don't know the Blue or V2 at all, so I can't help you with that. I can tell you that a cigarette sized is not going to last you all day - you're going to have to upgrade to get an all day charge. Generally speaking, 100mah is going to be about an hour of vaping. The largest KGO battery will easily last me an entire workday, but I generally had to charge it when I got home. (A KGO with clearomizer is about the size of a Sharpie.) Many others (probably the majority) would say eGo twist instead of KGO, but I prefer the KGO. Either of these are 510 threaded, so they should fit on most other mods, but you might need an extension. Still, it's a place to start, and you can check on whether you need an extension when you're looking at your next purchase.

Recommend you get an atomizer (and drip tip) for testing juices. That way if you hate it, you can just go to the next juice. Hope this helps!

I used the V2s as my intro into vaping. They are 808 threaded so not really compatible with most tanks, etc. Plus yo don't want to put a bigger tank on those. Will wear the crap out of the battery worse than it already is. Although a great intro into the vaping world, I pretty much ditched my V2s about 2 months in. To get longer life you are going to have to get a bigger battery. There are ego types that are 650mah that should last you all, most of the day that aren't very big. More sharpie size probably then pen. But like I said, the tanks aren't going to be compatible and you really don't want to use them on the V2s.
If you have other questions, ask away. Plenty of helpful people on here.

+1 to all above. It depends on how heavy a vaper you are. A 650 mAh lasts my mother about 2 days. It lasts me about five hours.

In my case, I tend to use a simple Volt X2 for out and about, 1,300 mAh. And I carry a backup just in case the first one decides to die on me (it never has, but you can't be too careful). The two together are about the weight of my old pack and lighter. The X2 is an 808 thread, which doesn't bother me but does give you fewer options. Most people prefer the eGo, Spinner, or Twist with the 510/eGo threads.

I personally like the Kanger T3 tank and the CE3 cartos--I'm a fan of bottom feeding units myself. Others like top feeders. And plenty of people are having issues with the T3 so I'd be tempted to wait until the quality control shakes out on that one. For either item, cleaning is very easy.

Pre-filled cartos are easy, but you're right--they cost. Plus that carto can be used ten or fifteen times before even requiring cleaning (if you use the same liquid). Refilling is much cheaper. You're on the right track there!

For juice testing, a dripping atty is probably best. There's a thread here on using one of your old cartos as a dripping atty, though, so you may not have to buy one!

Next thing you know you'll be getting into DIY on the liquids. :)

I'm only a week in but I've already sold or tossed all my cigalike gear for the same reasons everyone else does - battery life, vicious drops in power, leaks, etc..

I just upgraded at our local shop to an ego mega vv and vivi novas. The mega (1200mah) will vape all day, and has a battery meter. (My nova setup definitely fails your size requirements, but the 1100mah twist is less crazy looking. And they ship fast, if you can't find a local shop near you..)

The vivi mini or ce5+ are both good for samples (smaller tanks, easy to clean out.) Everyone recommends dripping for a sample, and you do get the flavor more 'cleanly' that way but when you find a flavor you like it'd be nice to have something to put it in to keep vaping it :) I've got my 'standard' flavors in the full-size novas and the 5ml sampler flavors that I want to keep using go through the the CE5.

A CE5 with a twist is about the size of a sharpie and only a little longer. You'll get the same hit from just-charged all the way through dead, and 1100mah should last quite a while between charges.

thanks gsolo19564! i was leaning towards a spinner/twist idea for my take to work with me and a more powerful deal for at home. I am at the almost 2 month mark, so I guess on similar track as you re: V2

From all the looking and knowledge I've tried to gather, I don't think too many people complain that they have a twist in their arsenal. It is also highly recommended as a good step up into the VV world. That's why it was also my first upgrade.

The kanger that was mentioned below my original post has many good recommendattions. I got my first one about a week ago. It was a very airy draw. Just like taking a big suck of air. I wasn't happy with it. Many others are though.

It's going to be alot of trial and error into what you like. Yes you will buy something and not like it. But I've done that and after 3 months finally broke ahead.

As far as the V2s. I still have several packs of cartridges and the batteries. Just the other day I told myself I was going to bust those out and finish them so they wouldn't be wasted. Threw a carto on the battery, took a big ole draw, then told myself I gotta find someone to give these away too. After using my lambo and twist for a month now, going back to that wasn't quite the same.

The eGo batteries are a mid-size option that can provide you with 6-12 hours or more on a single charge. For just a little more, there are eGo batteries that also have the variable voltage option to change the voltage to adjust for best flavor production of each juice you use. Below is an example of a good setup like that:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/369128-what-kit-start-3.html#post8309522 Ego Twist or Spinner setups

The are more options for different juice delivery devices with an eGo battery or a more advanced PV (personal vaporizer, or a "mod") that used replaceable, rechargeable batteries, than the cigalike's offer. The following is a crash course picture dictionary of the more commonly used juice devices:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...minology-carto-tank-what-lol.html#post7562212

The first link had images of the eGo style batteries. If you decide to go the route of a mod that uses the replaceable batteries, there's multiple options. There are box mods and tube mods, named for the form factor that they use. These tend to be more expensive than the eGo's initially, but the battery holders (which a mod actually is) are more durable and will last way longer, so they are a better investment in the long run. In addition, the eGo batteries will only function well for 250 charges and then decline, requiring their replacement. The replaceable batteries used in mods will last at least a year.

Gripper-by-Smoktech.jpggripper-mod-smoktech-18350.jpg

The above Gripper is only $16 (http://www.madvapes.com/gripper.html) and uses a replaceable rechargeable battery (Trustfire Protected 18350 Battery) that will last at least 12 hours. You can always pack an extra battery along to insure an all day vape. Extremely small device ideal for stealth vaping or fitting into a pocket or purse. Uses one of the longer, 45mm cartomizers easily found anywhere that fits in the device to make it even more compact.

That's just one example of an affordable, pratical mod. There are larger mods that use a battery that will last 24 hours.

There's too many mods to describe that can fit into any vapor's budget and expectation. 3.7 Volt E Cigs, 3.7 Volt E Cigarettes | MadVapes There's plenty of folks here to offer their advice and support. Just ask.
