OK ... totally new to this. I have only had my 901 for two days and am not quite sure I know what I am doing. So far I really like it ... I ordered late Friday from a supporting supplier here and got it Monday morning (great service!) and I love the Menthol taste for the juice that I got with the starter kit. I also have a blue 510 on the way from another supporting supplier ...

Anyways ... now for the questions …

Are all 901s a really hard draw ... I have to REALLY draw deep straight into my lungs (not sure on the terminology so please forgive me), whereas with my analogs I was able to just draw into my mouth and then inhale (yes I know ... such a woman smoker!) but I cannot do that with the 901. I am sure I can get used to that as I have done it before … just wondering if it is normal for a 901 or if I have a weird atomizer. I have read on here that the 510 is an easier draw … which is partly why I ordered it.

I got the 18mg liquid because I only smoke like six analogs a day (Newport Lights) so I figured that would work … but I can’t seem to get enough nicotine. Can I go to a higher nic level without it making me feel strange? The first smoke of the day has ALWAYS made me lightheaded but I haven’t gotten that at all with vaping … which makes me think that I need a higher nic level.

Out of sheer curiousity … if I get pulled over with this thing is it going to be a problem? To me it looks conspicuously like some other things I knew of back in college :D and just don’t want to drive by a cop vaping and get stopped cause it looks like something less than legal …

Love this place by the way … I am a mod on another vBulletin style forum … but this is one of the more organized ones I have come across and the senses of humor here are highly amusing. And sorry for being so longwinded … I tend to do that a lot :D

I was wondering about this myself has anyone dealt with that and how did you handle it?

Hey lady - what are ye doing over here - get back to our board! LOL

Glad to see you made it over! I find the 901 with the battery painful myself, the passthrough is the ticket. How many times do I have to tell you - get thee a passthrough!!!

Also, the juice makes a difference. You have some good stuff from Nhaler on the way and I bet you willl see what I mean.

The 901 is awesome for flavor, harder to draw. The 510 less flavor but easy on the draw! You have a good set...now get a danged passthrough!

Love ya!

A lot of 901s are somewhat hard on the draw, try a different atomizer if you have one, it might be easier. Try slow and steady. The 510 should be a lot easier.

If stopped the cop won't smell anything so, just tell them what it is, it's not illegal.

Well I have been told that vaping smells sweet (by non smokers who still have a sense of smell)

Well I guess we will have to wait and see about someone getting stopped

Trust me, you are gonna love the stuff. BTW - it occurred to me that you mentioned that you had an automatic battery for your 901. If that is the case, you may also want to add a manual or two to your arsenal. That way the battery does more of the the work for ya rather than relying on how hard you em...suck...

Yes ... I did get an automatic (stupid me for not reading what I was ordering in sheer excitement!) so I will order some manuals ... this thing is really termpramental ... it is like I have to warm it up to get it to work for me and then it only stays happy for a few minutes ;-)

Bet you're going to like the 510. Real nice draw on it as long as you don't flood it. It loves juice and bats. A PCC for travel and a PT are a must IMHO.

Now to play devils advocate. I think everyone goes through two or three or more models while trying to find their pleasure. Take a look at the JSv2. I recently tried it and to me, the draw is the easiest of all. Big enough difference that I ordered a second one. That's with a classic or TAWA atty. With an 801 atty, it seems to be closer to the 510 in draw. It has the PT and bat charger built in. The bat lasts a long time and the cart holds much more fluid than the 510 so less topping off. It is not an HV mod so the regular strength juices flavor comes through. The HV juice from Drew does work fine in it as well. Have you tried his pear lung juice yet?:p Fantastic. Oh well, just my 2cents. Relax and enjoy!

Sounds like you will have the best of both worlds with the 510 & 901. You'll have the 510 for the throat hit and the 901 for the flavor. I'm so jealous :) (wish I had the moolah for a 901)

As far as the coppers go, I don't think you need to worry about it too much. I've vaped openly in front of several cops, and not one of them has said a word to me. If you happen to get pulled over while vaping, I would say that you shouldn't vape in the cop's face (set it aside for a bit) and politely answer any questions that come up. PVs aren't illegal, nor is nic juice, so the only reason a cop would have to question it is a lack of information.

BTW, my hubby and one of my friends got stopped by the border patrol a week or so ago, and they didn't question his pv or juice at all. They gave him the 3rd degree about is vicoden, but not a word about the pv.

You MIGHT want to clean your atomizer - boil some water, drop your atomizer in a cup, cover it with the boiling water and let it sit 5-10 minutes. When you take it out of the water, blow through it to get rid of most of the water (or used compressed air meant for cleaning computer keyboards), then sit it down 'standing up' on a paper towel - in an hour you'll be fine. Put a couple of drops into the cleaned atomizer and start vaping.

I've been doing this weekly, and almost never have any problems. I even had an atomizer that was so clogged I couldn't draw through it at all, and it's fine now.

Sometimes when I'm starting a vaping session, it seems to work better if I take several small puffs until the atomizer heats up enough, then a deeper more satisfying drag - otherwise you start off trying so hard to get vapor that you fear that you're going to swallow the e-cig!

I don't have any other e-cig so I can't give you any comparisons.

If you only smoked six light cigarettes per day I would be wary of going higher than 18mg yet.

The thing is, if you are really finding it that hard to draw, I have to wonder if you are really getting much vapor (and therefore nicotine) from your current setup.

If you find that you get it working better maybe you will find that 18mg is more than enough.
Just a thought.

There is no way of knowing ahead of time.

I will try that ... it seems like the atomizer isn't sensing the draw sometimes today ... so I am going to try my other (previously unused) atty and see if that is better ... if so then the atomizer seems to be the issue.

If you only smoked six light cigarettes per day I would be wary of going higher than 18mg yet.

Thanks for the advice ... I feel like I am getting plenty of vapor because I am exhaling alot ... but what I consider alot could be not much to someone that was a heavier smoker than I have been. Thanks!
