I just ordered this starter kit. I am 3 weeks off of analogs and looking to upgrade from my Blu starter kit. I have purchased juice from JC and wanted a system where I did not have to refill cartos all of the time, not to mention a longer battery life. I also wanted something under $50. Did I "screw" up? A lot of older posts talk about leaks in the tank system. Help. I am pretty confused, even after reading this forum for 2 weeks. Thanks in advance!

PS. I am also technically "challenged!"

I am not sure of the kit you got but the ego t is a fairly good battery. The voltage is lower but should work well since you are just starting out and will surpass the blu. The problem will be the juice delivery device with it, they tend to leak a bit but since it is 510 threaded you will be able to buy other types of delivery devices like the vivi nova or kanger types that work better. We all have to start somewhere and while you may not have the best you are ahead of the game by trying a new and better option.

Thanks for your replies. I am still confused a bit. This is the actual set up I ordered: HTTP://www.greenhouseone.com/eGo-T-Starter-Kit-1100mAh-p/egot1.htm.

I am not sure if this is the one referred to as problems with leaking, etc. Will other tanks fit on this thing?? Thanks all!

This is the Kit you bought:
Two x eGo-T Tank Atomizers
Two x 1100mAh Batteries w/ 5 Click Protection (Manual)
One x Rapid USB Charger
One x Wall Adaptor
Five x Empty Tank Cartridges
One x Carrying Pouch
One x English manual

Bad news is eventually the cartridges leak after awhile. It's the outdated "tank" system ( atomizer+ cartridge). The good news is the eGo 1100 is a great battery and you can buy the Mini Vivi Nova for about $10.00.
-a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. The rebuildable clearos come with heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply ($2.00) and easily (10 secs) replaced. When the head burns out simply unscrew the old head out and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My Vivi Nova heads are lasting about 8 weeks BUT I wash the heads every few days.

Edit: Make absolute sure you only buy the Vision (brand) Mini Vivi Nova.

The eGo kit is likely the most recommended kit for beginning vapers and those looking to upgrade from cig-a-likes. Even vaping pros like them and swear by them. You're sure to like it much better than the Blus.

I have read multiple leakage posts about virtually every tank on the market from Kangers to ViVi Novas to RBAs. What you don't often read about are the thousands of satisfied users of those very same tanks. Who really posts a thread to say, "Hey, I bought a Kanger and guess what...it doesn't leak."?

There are those that leak worse than others, particularly with the knock-offs. But I wouldn't say you screwed up. Perhaps you'll be happy with what you get. Most of us want to get several parts through our vaping "careers" to find what works perfectly for us.

I personally have had nothing but a good experience with Kanger and ViVi, though one of my Kangers tends to flood just a little. The other is fine and I still swear by them. If your eGo tank leaks, look for something else.

Kanger CE5 and ViVi Novas are top-rated clearomizer style tanks perfect for those who label themselves technically challenged. Simply fill them and go. You just have to make sure you keep the wicks good and wet, which means tipping and rolling your device a bit, but no big deal. And they're not very expensive at all.

You may wish to go ahead and order one. Any vaper will attest that you need backups for your backups. Then, if you really don't like the eGo tank, you'll already have a backup and won't be left without a vaporizer while waiting for parts in the mail.

P.S. - One big concern with those tanks I mentioned is that some flavors will etch, warp, or crack plastic tanks - particularly cinnamon. Look for words of warning about that when you order your juice, or if those are the type of flavors you like, look for a true glass tank. But I think clearomizer style (the ones with cotton wicks) would be the best for you to start.

Oh! One more thing: Congrats for making the switch and best wishes and all.

I started with ego twists. I like and recommend using CE4 version 3 clearos - they are made with a plastic that is more resistant to cracking from juices (blend of polycarbonate and polypropylene). I also like and recommend the Kanger T3 - it is a bottom coil clearo, which means you don't have to tip it and keep wicks wet (gravity does it for you).
Since you are getting the kit, though, you don't have to immediately purchase more gear just now. You have some time to look around and make a decision.

Thanks to all! I am also thinking about Dual Coil Cartomizers to add with this. I am learning so fast, my head is spinning! I LOVE vaping so far (only one BAD experience with some watermelon juice---GAG) and mostly vape coffee, vanilla, menthol and cherry flavors (Blu hangover!) I can't really be upset about my Blu experience because I NEVER thought I could quit after years of trying. Patches, pills, lozenges, etc. NEVER worked for me. I quit analogs the second day after I got my Blu kit. It cost me less than a carton of Marlboro Reds. This forum is great and VERY HELPFUL to a newbie. You peeps are awesome.

You'll want to stay away from Dual Coils because on your PV they'll give a weak vape and drain the batteries quicker. Best to stay with single coil. If wanting a stronger vape try LR/ Low resistance cartomizers- 1.7- 2.0 ohms.

I just got a couple EgO (2.3ml) 1.8ohm Horizontal Coil Cartomizer From Litecigusa.net and I LOVE them. Today was the first day I used them at work and one carto lasted me all day, and the ride home, they hit great and didn't have that poly fill taste that some cartos have.

Another big plus for me is the way they fit the Ego batteries, give it a nice clean look and feel , and I don't have to worry about catching the threads or anything when pulling it out of my pocket.

They only downside, and it's no big deal to me, is your stuck with the flat tip that comes with it, the cone is larger than standard cartos so you can't add your favorite drip tip.

The sizes of the wicks in the replaceable Vivi Nova heads are the same. It's the electrical resistance (oHms) that is different. Basically, the combination of the power that the battery produces and the resistance of the heating coil/head determines how warm the vape is.

For batteries like yours that don't allow power adjustment you will probably find the 1.8 oHm head to work the best. The 2.8 oHm head really needs to be used with a battery with adjustable power.

You might want to consider getting a variable voltage Twist class of battery that allows you to adjust battery power. Rather than having to try different juice delivery devices with different oHm ratings to find your perfect vape you simply turn the dial on the battery to what you personally find produces the most desirable vape. Easy peasy. All three of the Vivi Nova heads, 1.8, 2.4 and 2.8 ohms will produce satisfactory results with the Twist class of batteries.

This video shows how the Twist works. The Vision Vision Spinners, KGO VVs and Apollo VVs are the same class of battery and work the same way.

These videos explain the Vivi Novas. After every tank or two I clean and dry burn mine according to the directions in the second video. My Vivi Nova heads/coils have lasted for months. You can ignore the part in the second video about rebuilding unless that's something you actually want to do. The easily replaceable heads are cheap enough so there is no need to bother.
