Newbie and question

Hello! I'm new to vaping and this forum. I'm one of the few that hasn't smoked analogs. I did like the idea of vaping and so I did my research and I recently bought a Panda eGo with a Kanger T3 rocketmizer. I also bought eliquid samples from The Vapor room (50/50. 0 nicotine). When the tank is full, I have no problem, but I've noticed when it gets less than 1/4 full, fluid comes through the drip tip (this also happens when the battery is upside down). It makes the experience a bit unpleasent and I was wondering if there was any way to fix it? I can't constantly keep it full because I want to try all the new flavors I have once it runs down, and I don't want to waste juice. Are there any suggestions? I'm not really a tinkerer and I just want something that tastes good and produces a lot of vapor without juice spilling out every pull.

Thank you for your help!! :D

Welcome , but I guess the easy answer is to keep them full , and don't hold them upside down . If your not a tinkerer , you probably won't try fixing these . Maybe try a few of the other devices out there . The " Evod " from Kanger is one , or even try the mini-Vivi-Nova . Looks good on an Ego , and a lot of people seem to like them . Sorry to say that most of the devices out there , take a bit of fideling to get to work correctly . But all that comes with experience . My wife was kind of lost figuring out what to do with her problem devices . I , out of frustration , sat her down and showed her how to fix leking problems , or dry hits , etc . Now she does most of her own little fixes without any help . You will get there as well . It's just gonna take a little time . Good Luck

Get yourself a small, 3ml carto tank... like a Valley View sidewinder polypro, for example. If you like to try different flavors, fill it half way (1.5ml) and when it runs down, pop the side screw and try something else. Yes, there will be a blending of the flavors as the old evacuates to be replaced with the new, but you will never have to take a "sidewinder" carto tank apart, or even off the battery, until you need to replace the cartridge... and that's cake.

The Kanger T3 looks like a bottom coil clearomizer. I would suggest an Evod. They are bottom coil also which is best if you don't like putting a lot of juice in them. I just bought some about 2-3 weeks ago and I really like them. I don't have any of the mini-Vivi-Nova's but I've heard a lot of good things about them also.

A dry hit is when there is no juice on the wick and coil and it doesn't produce any vapor and you might get a burnt taste also.

So everyone suggests and Evod clearo instead?
Than a T3, yes. But it's kind of apples to oranges as to why, because there are so many differences between the two.... or 3. ;)

  • The EVOD has a separate base and replaceable coil while with the T3, the base and coil are one piece - which makes the coil replacement more costly. But... You can get a T3S (note the capitol 'S')... which is a T3 with a separate base and coil, just like an EVOD. (I'd expect the T3 to be discontinued as stocks dwindle)
  • Now, here's the other things... the EVOD has less capacity (2.0ml) that either the T3 or T3S (2.4ml)... so it's slightly shorter.
  • Cosmetically, the EVOD has a metal sleeve over the tank while the T3/T3S is fully clear and easier to see what amount of fluid you have left. There's more  The T3 has a black mouthpiece, the T3S a clear mouth piece.
  • And the last bit... you can buy a T3S base and coils and convert an old T3 to T3S status. Yeah!!!
Last bit... it's very important that you try to buy genuine Kanger when buying T3S or EVOD... there are (lower quality) fakes.

Should I try both the Evod and the sidewinder? Or what would you recommend?
  • The T3S or EVOD are good for just about anything. The EVOD, having a little less capacity will require filling (slightly) more often, but is nice if you're trying to make a rig that is short and stealthy. Some like the EVOD for the metal casing.
  • A "Sidewinder" is simply the term used by Valley View Vapes for a carto tank with a removable screw in the side if the tank to make it way easier to fill/refill - in some cases even more so than even any kind of clearomizer (like an EVOD or a T3S).
  • A carto tank tends to have fewer problems associated with clearos... like flooding, which is why I suggested it. A carto, although a little more expensive also lasts longer than a replacement clearo coil. A downside to carto tanks is size, even a small, 3ml one is going to be larger in diameter than a clearo like a EVOD or T3S. EVOD is 14.70mm/.580" vs a small carto tank like the one I linked you to, which is about 19mm/750". To a lot of folks, 4mm/1/4" is a lot of increase in diameter.

What is it called when liquid comes up through the mouthpiece when you vape?
That is called flooding. Too much liquid in the atomizer (atty) or coil head.

Cheers,
C

Best things with top coil rigs, fill, leave it alone for five minutes then, vape. As you learn your rig, you will learn exactly how long it takes the wicks to saturate, but 5 minutes is plenty for any wick.

Don't turn them upside down with a clearomizer or tank attached.

When near empty, learn to rest them on their side so the wick can still soak up juice.

With ego style batteries, it is normal for a bit of juice to get in the battery connection with many ranks or clearomizers. Try dabbing it out gently with a paper towel tip when you get juice in your mouth. See if that helps tame the problem.

Alright! I've narrowed it down to the two I prefer the most. I think I'm going to try getting the T3S and the Evod and try them both. I like the bigger size of the T3S, but I like the color options and the smaller wicks on the Evod. Since I'm so new to this, experimenting is a good thing to do!

I like the bottom coils. They seem much more logical to me.

Okay. SO I got the Evod and the TS3. Both of them, I'm not getting dry hits from. I have no idea why. I cleaned them out and refilled them, and I still am getting dry hits. There is a strong burnt flavors. I've tried changing my eliquid too. It's not that. It's 50/50 with 0 nic. It's like I go from one extreme to the other!

Does anyone have any suggestions?
