Newbie- need help

There seems to be tons of different brands out there- with tons of options, bells and whistles- I dont know the lingo, what the hell to look for, and what to buy- so I bought a "VE-VOD” yesterday from the only vapor store in my area.

Is this a generic 'rip-off' of the E-VOD? Is the E-Vod better?


Is there really a difference? I’ll probably be using my device a lot, and want something that isnt el cheap-o. Not sure how to tell if the threads on this Evod are the better ones Ive read about, or if the coil is cheaply made?

Does it even matter?


Is it normal that I have some oil ‘floating’ up to the top of the plastic mouthpiece?

of course, I opened the damned thing upside down and spilled oil all over the place- (live and learn!)

Also - how do I know when its time to buy a new coil, and also when the battery needs to be charged? Does the unit just stop working?

I have a EVOD that I don't use anymore because it seems to collect too much condensation and then start gurgling.

You'll know when to change the coil because it won't vape as well as it used to. I usually clean mine every 5 tanks fulls and replace if cleaning didn't help.

Hopefully, you have more then one battery. It will stop working when it's dead. But depending on the type of battery you have, there may be indicators. I use manual batteries, so the led changes colors depending on the battery level. I know it's close to dead when the light is red.

I'd say it probably doesn't matter. The E-VOD is made in China. It's very likely that your generic came from the same shop, at the very least with the same original spec. I don't think you'll see an appreciable difference between the knock-off and the real McCoy.

Mine, after 2 days of heavy use, gurgles too, and has condensation- it really doesnt bother me too much..but....

What do you use now instead of the Evod?
