Hi Lily, you have definitely found the right place, the members here are incredibly nice and helpful and will give you a lot of good info to help you make your decision. I am relatively knew to this too and went for a Joye 510 kit first from Cignot. I thought a device that looked like a cigarette would help me make the transition, but it really wasn't an issue. I now have a Riva 510 from Liberty Flights, which actually cost less than the first kit, and am delighted with it. Battery life is great, lasts me all day, and there are lots of options for cartridges (usually come with the starters), cartomizers (cartridge and atomizer in one), atomizers (the part that heats the juice) and clearomizers (like a cartomizer but look like a little tank).

I am sure that many more will be here to assist you momentarily.... by the way Liberty Flights offer a 20% discount on orders with the discount code ECF.

Good luck and I hope it works for you.

There are many things you should think about before you start spending:
How much do you currently smoke?
Are you a regular or menthol smoker?
How much are you willing to spend to get started up?

These answers would help us give you a recommendation. Like LFC said, a 510 starter kit is a great way to start. It's cheap, semi-durable, a good quality vape for the price. Plus the non battery components you use with it can carry over to a higher end model if you get the vaping bug. Just away from GreenSmoke.com, I bought that without thinking and was overcharged for poor gear.

Welcome to Club! :vape:

I would not start with anything smaller from a battery stand point than an eGo or Riva 510 (Liberty Flights) or a VGO 801 if you want better performance. Make sure to get manual batteries for better performance and eliquid in the 24mg range.

Good Luck

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

I just started on Monday when I got my Riva 510 SE. I was like you and knew nothing about vaping. Since Monday, I have learned sooooo much and its not as complicated as it seems. Love my Riva 510 from Liberty Flights!! And no analogs smoked!

ECF is a great place. The people here have been great with helping me learn. Thank you, ECF!

I went to the Dr today. During my check up, I told him I had stopped smoking and pulled out my pv. I educated him on it and now he is going to start recommending them to his other patients. He said he never thought I would stop smoking. Fooled him!

I agree completely with wv2win, I did my research back in December and the eGo was a newer, hot topic item. I'm so glad I bought into the hype lol, worth every penny and I've never EVER had an issue with running out of battery. I make sure I take the battery I have assembled at at least 50% charge + one fully charged with me before I leave (still on both my stock 650mAh with my original eGo kit, coming up on 5 months strong). I've actually gone a full day AND overnight till about 2pm the next without running out of battery (I'll plead the 5th lol).

My friend got the vaporking 808d kit and is happy with it, BUT has mentioned he's gone dry before getting home from work (probably 8am-4pm) with two slim 510 batteries. If you decide to go slim battery style (cigarette size), make sure you get extras. My friends does perform pretty well, but nothing compares to my eGo (in my experience so far).

I think you should tell people about your smoking (strength and packs per day), and your absolute needs for length of battery charge (amount of time you'd would vape away from AC or USB power) before the best suggestions can be made.

I am near AC power most of the time, I smoked lights (1.5+ PAD), and I don't vape constantly. I have done fine on 510 manual (short battery life) and KR808D-1/Vapor4Life standard battery manual (60% longer battery life) and I carry both with me. They aren't enough for some people. many people want a hotter hit (needs an ecig that can use low resistance parts) or need 2x-3x the battery charge life of the smaller ecigs - and they should skip the slimmer ecigs and get Riva 510 or Ego.

BTW - get a total of 5 posts or replies in New Members and wait an hour, then you should be able to post elsewhere on the board including the Canada section (in there they would know better about what's available in Canada and where to get it).

One thing I think everyone would agree on is US or Canada, the most popular and most available equipment has 510 or KR808D-1 threading. They are the most popular 3-piece and the most popular 2-piece. They work well, they are the most popular threadings for accessories like cartomizers.

I would agree they are the most common but I don't feel by a long stretch they are better than an 901, 801, BE112, etc. With a $4 adapter we can all use any atomizer we prefer.
