Hey all! I'm a moderate smoker (a pack goes for about 2 days) soon-to-be new vaper in Canada, and I'm looking to check some facts and perceptions after doing quite a bit of reading and youtubing.

First off, MistressNomad's 6 part videos. AWESOME!! Had I spent an hour watching those earlier this week, I'd have saved myself loads of time researching and googling. I'm certainly not broke, but I'm not looking to invest the price of a new LCD TV into e-cig stuff, which after browsing countless online shops, certainly seems possible with a few different models, charging cases and whatnot.

I'm starting with a bare bones 401 unboxed kit for $30.

My questions:
Legal - this stuff isn't outright banned for import in Canada, but is considered a controlled substance? What are the pitfalls of ordering from outside the country? There's plenty of retailers selling hardware and premixed juice in Canada, but I'm looking for a good on-stop place to eventually start mixing my own juice. No one in Canada seems to sell a DIY package with the VG/PG nic base, dilutant, flavours and mixing tools. So far the only places I've found are in the US. Will customs take it?

That one sort of leads into a related question of who in Canada sells a complete starter mixing kit?

Carts+atomizers vs cartomizers. One is disposable or refilliable a limited number of times, the other is meant for a longer life. Assuming I want to eventually mix my own juice and try any number of different flavours, what's the better way to go economically and performance wise?

My next e-cig. The 401 seems to have decent reviews, but my impression is that I won't want to stop there. The 510 seems known for pathetic battery life but great performance, so I'm not too interested. The Ego seems to be a modded 510 to address the poor battery life. I'm already browsing other kits, preferably with a PCC. I may just go with a 401 PCC kit to get the extra batteries and stuff to complement my original 401. This is a bit of a subjective question, but should I be considering something else?

This is going to depend on a number of factors, and you're going to get a lot of different opinions.
But if your atomizers last as long as mine do, then atomizers is the answer.

But really, you should just plan on trying both.

If you want something the size of a cigarette you will probably need a PCC for it.

If you are willing to get something larger, then the batteries will last much longer.
The bigger the battery, the longer it lasts.
