Newbie confused on 510

Hi, been lurking and researching since 6-27-09. Smoked last analog also on that day when my Greensmokes arrived. Not happy with many aspects of the Greensmoke and I am thinking about purchasing the Janty Dura C or an equilvilent 510 such as Yeti, Joye or Titan. I am getting confused on the idea of manual vs auto. I think I understand that the manual is the one with the push button but it will not have a cherry light on the end. At least that's the way Janty describes it, but some of the others describe the manaul button type as having a cherry light on the end. Does anyone know the differences in the Janty Dura C vs Yeti, Joye 510 and Titan? I would also like to get information on the USB passthrough devices that work on this style of e-cig. Does anyone recommend one supplier's passthrough over anothers? I saw where Puresmokers was advertising that theirs was sealed. Help needed quickly please. The Greensmokes just aren't that great. 1) Manual batteries have a switch that you depress to start the atomizer.

2) Most manual batteries DO have the LED "cherry" at the end, though you can get ones that have no LED if you like (most suppliers carry the LED versions so you may have to look around a little if you want a non LED version.)

3) There is no functional difference between the Titan, Yeti, Dura and Joye versions of the device. As far as we know, they're all made in the same factory. Any differences you see are purely cosmetic.

4) Puresmoker makes the best passthrough on the market, but their 510 adapter is still a few days away from being available. Additionally, the Puresmoker passthrough runs the 510 atomizer at 5v (the default battery on a 510 runs at 3.7v.) That means that it gives a different vaping experience. Most people love the higher voltage experience and say that once you try it you won't want to go back to 3.7v. Therefore, it might be better for you to get one of the cheap Chinese 3.7v passthroughs to start with and graduate to higher voltage hardware after you become accustomed to using the 510 in its "natural" state.

How will I know what voltage the USB Passthough is if I try and order a cheaper 3.7v chinese version as you suggested? Are the voltages listed by the suppliers? And I thought Puresmoker had the 510 passthrough available now. Will they be doing something to change it with a different adapter? Still a bit confused.

Does anyone know the full range of atomizer/mouthpiece combinations that the Stick can take? 510 and 801 both? Both -- but only with optional adapters?

the stick is not a 5V device, it runs a 3.6V 360mAH Battery used that is common in the e-cigars.

currently there is only a 901 Adapter availlable. but if i understood Ludo from Janty correct, the 510 Adapter is just around the corner.

Personally i am not convinced that 5V and more are good for me. so i stay at 3.6V /3.7V

I'm a first week vaper(er?) and have a janty 510 but they are the exact same as the titan and a few others. All parts fit, just a different name and in some cases a different look. Good choice with the 510 though! As of 3 days, no problems other than having to recharge and refill. Very reliable as of yet

I've been vaping my newly acquired 510 for the past week plus. I normally vape 901's. The 510 definitely seems to produce more throat hit than my 901, but the throat hit can often be a little more than I want or need. I definitely find the 510 batteries to be very short-lived (shorter than the 901 batteries), so a PCC is definitely a very smart purchase with the 510. I've also tried my 901 atty's on 5 volts and the increased throat hit has informed me that all I need is 3.6/3.7 volts, so that is where I plan on staying for the time being. Steve at Puresmoker has a post about this somewhere. The long and short of it is that he feels atomizers last just as long at 5v, but that it's easier to accidently burn them out. You can crank the button on a standard 3.7v device for 8, 10, 12 seconds and not burn it up, but on a 5v system shorter drags are called for.

My Prodigy is on order, so this isn't coming from personal experience yet, just stuff I've learned about it on ECF.

Exactly. I am getting a wonderful throat hit every time from my Stick. I actually enjoy to "cooler" vapor from the 801 versus the "steam" from a higher voltage unit................Less harsh and more relaxing......I would equate it to the difference in smoking a Pall Mall Red(unfiltered) vs a Pall Mall Light.

Opinions are divided on hot versus cold vapor. I like hotter vapor, myself. The cooler vapor doesn't produce enough throat hit and just feels wrong to me. Since getting a 510 I never pick up my 801 anymore at all. But lots of people agree with Elendil that cooler vapor is better.

No, no..........I was comparing the janty Stick to the high voltage PV's (Prodigy & GG).....

My wife has a 510 (7 of them actually) and she loves it!!

I never feel a need with the 510 to take that long a drag. I get plenty enough with fairly short ones -- to say nothing of the 801, which 'vapes' prodigiously (sometimes almost too much for me, and for that reason I've been leaning more and more on the 510; hard to beat how smooooooth a draw that 801 gives, though).

IMO, you might not like the throat hit from the 510...but it will also depend upon how strongly you drag, and the liquid that you vape. I personally would not suggest a 510 for a Misty Lights smoker since I find the throat hit to be a little too strong for me as a Marlboro Lights smoker.

IMO, you might not like the throat hit from the 510...but it will also depend upon how strongly you drag, and the liquid that you vape. I personally would not suggest a 510 for a Misty Lights smoker since I find the throat hit to be a little too strong for me as a Marlboro Lights smoker.

I bought some Johnson Creek juices (11mg) for my first juice purchase to use in my new 510 Yeti. I got the Tennessee Cured, the Vanilla Ice Cream, and the Kona Coffee. The Tennessee Cured is giving me more of a throat hit than I want, but the other two are much smoother.
