I am fairly new to DIY and purchsed 120ml of WL 60mg 100% VG Nic with an expiration date of 6/1/15 that has a distinct brown tint.

I have read that the brown tint makes no difference but this stuff has an offensive odor that carries over to the taste when vaping it in my DIY E-juice mixtures.

I also have 500ml of WL 60mg 100% PG Nic with an expiration date of 9/1/14 that is clear and has no odor at all and taste great.

I am wondering if the odor is just a characteristic of 100% VG or if there is something wrong this juice? If so, what could the problem be?

My thanks to all of the kind members that have really helped me learn about the "art" of vaping.

Bill

If it has a distinct brown or amber tint it may be that it was exposed to light or high heat and oxidized. If it has a distinct un-pleasent taste that was not caused by the VG when you mixed it down to your usual vaping strength I would be concerned and contact WL.

So try vaping just the VG you used to mix it down, straight with no NIC or flavoring added and see if that is causing the bad taste, If that's OK. Then mix the NIC down using that VG and do not add flavor and try that. If that is OK then it could be the flavoring your using. If it's not OK then it's the NIC.

Great idea; will do. Thanks!

Keep us posted.

Again thanks! I followed your "protocol" and only got to adding nic juice to VG step. It definitely was the nic juice.

Coincidentally, I received a shipment of MFS 100% VG nic juice from their "summer sale" deal that had a 9/1/14 expiration date. I mixed up a batch of my favorite menthol and it tasted great! It too had an amber tint but no nasty smell or taste. Will contact WL and see what they say. More interested in learning about what could have happened than getting a replacement. I just love everything about my vaping experience! It has become my hobby. Now I just need to clean out all the clearomizers, cartomizers, RBAs, mods, and APV's that I "just had to have to try" and moved on to the next best thing.)

I've had quite a bit of bad luck with Wizard labs getting smelly nic over the last year and a half . I know they are suppose to be good folks, but I'm over using them .

I've had good luck with MFS of late , but for the best tasteless nic I would have to go with VT Nic...... A bit pricey
