Newbie- dumb question about atty's

Dumb question-- how do I know when I need to replace my atty? I thought it might've been done, coz no crackle.. but still hits alright? Help.

Don't know alot about atty's, but I imagine it would be done when it refuses to fire anymore (popped coil). Until then there are options you can use to clean it. (Boiling, blowing out etc, or there are certain solutions of alcohol that you can let them sit in over night) Youtube has several videos on cleaning atomizers.

Essentially atty's are meant to last to a degree. But a big component to ensuring long atty life, is care and maintenance, mixed with a little bit of luck

I don't really know the answer, but when my atty just doesn't seem to be working as well as it once did, I will wash it (I use the denture tablet method). if that doesn't help (but it usually does) I try pulling up the center pin, if the same, then I trash it. although I don't really throw it away, people that mod sometimes want them and sometimes I'll go back later and try it again. I use 510 attys and they don't usually crackle. if you think it hits ok, then it is ok attys aren't meant to last forever.
