First, let me introduce myself. My boyfriend and I quit smoking back in September and switched to vapeing and we LOVE it. More than analogs. I have a Halo Triton system and he uses the G6 with mini tanks. We are just now branching out to new juices since Halo juices are so expensive. Delicious, but expensive.

I've been lurking here since about August and I can generally find anything I need just by doing a quick search but I want to become more active in the community and I have some silly questions I can't seem to find answers for through a search.

So my questions are:

1. 2 of my Halo tanks just stopped working. I press the battery, I can hear the coil heating, but no vapor comes out. I pulled out the coil, cleaned the tank, let it dry for 2 days and replaced the coil with a brand new one and still the same thing. I have several batteries and they didn't work either. I ordered a brand new tank and it totally worked no problem. I haven't tried cleaning and replacing the coil on the second non-working tank because I don't want to waste the coils or the juice again. Has anyone else had this happen?

2. This one is ridiculous, but is Halo Tribecca considered a RY4? I love it, and I don't like sweet juices AT ALL. I am having trouble finding something I like as much but I don't want to only vape one flavor because that's lame. I just don't know where to start looking and everything I've tried is just too sweet for me with the exception of Tribecca.

Anyway, that's it. I hope to start posting in earnest soon, and I am researching now to move away from the Halo hardware. I want something I can mod!!

Bump? Just in case...

Yes... unusual not to get many replies.

I can't help with Halo, we don't have them in the UK. I did however switch from 808 to 510 3 months into Vaping and have loved every minute. I think I have enough for the Zombie Apocalypse. (UK/Euro regulation....knocking on the door)

I must admit, I would like to try Tribecca.

Good luck.

I made it to New York (once), so I phoned my Dad from Carnegie Hall. (Musician's joke....)

Do you replace the coils alone or the entire heads? Seems, either your wicks are getting old and scorched which is diminishing their ability to draw moisture to the coil, or you have a short. Also, could have a high alcohol content liquid. That could explain why it sounds like it's working but there isn't any vapor being produced. That's exactly what happened to me. I've been letting the liquid sit with the lid off to evaporate out the alcohol.

All the RY4's I've had remind me of molasses. Earthy and sweet. I've never used Halo liquids but the only non-sweet liquids I can think of are tobacco flavors. I did like Heather's Heavenly Vapes version of Vanilla because it was less sweet than a lot of other brands I've tried. Candy and dessert flavors are too sweet for me too but I've found that tobacco and some fruit flavors are at least tolerable if not delicious.

First congrats on switching. As for your flavors and liquid vendors I struggled with that at first as well. Try different samplers and smaller bottles until you figure out what you like. With some of the samplers don't be afraid to try out things you "think" you won't like. I am surprised at the flavors I thought I would like at first and the flavors I am now vaping more frequently.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...cussion/458263-3ml-cheap-sampler-bottles.html The first post doesn't have all of them in the list. ECF stopped allowing me to edit and add to the first post so there are more throughout the thread. Hope it helps you as much as it did me when trying to figure out which vendor/flavors to use.

Never had that happen with my Halo.

When you press the fire button to heat the coil, you should be able to see a red glow in the holes the wicks insert into. Can you see any red glow there? If not the coil is not heating properly.

It may be that you got some liquid in the connection where the coil is screwed into. If it's not heating, try taking it apart and clean the tank with some denture tablets in hot water. That should break up any oils from the juice. Dry everything out really good and let it sit out for 24 hours before putting it all back together to test it.

Oh I didn't think to look for a red glow. I'll do that tonight. I changed the entire coil, not just the wicks. I'm going to definitely try the denture tablets.

I just ordered a couple bottles from Mt Baker Vapor to try some of their flavors. So far I don't like any. My boyfriend, however, is hooked on Hawk Sauce. :)

I'm gonna check out the 3 ml bottle thread right now!!

Try checking the connection on the tank that isn't firing. It's possible that the positive connection pin got pushed too far in to make contact with the battery. Try carefully and gently prying it down with a pin or needle until the post comes just barely past the connection.

Good idea!! Where is that? In the bottom of the tank where the battery screws in?
