Yes, the eGo is basically just a bigger battery for the 510; although the cover also has, according to the reviews, quite an influence on performance. You can, however, use the eGo battery and the 510 atty without it.

No idea, though, what an edobit is.

It lets you dip, I found a video about it, but I haven't seen any threads about it that aren't a few months old... and its the size of the pen, and looks pretty handy.

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about with the cover? sorry

Somebody else needs to help you with the edobit.

The eGo has basically two parts, which you use with a 510 atomizer and cartrige. One is the battery, and the other the cover, this cone-shaped thing you screw onto the battery, over the atomizer. This thread for example has lots of pics.

If you feel that fiddling with it will be a downfall (since you don't want to refill or recharge often) then I suggest you look into the Kr8 models. Their batteries last longer and their cartomizers hold more liquid than most others.
