Hello
I am new here and also new to vaping. My husband uses nic salt liquid, but having never even smoked anything before, I didn't want to get into nicotine use. I want to vape to have something to do with him when he does, or when he has a cigar, or just to relax and enjoy a nice flavor.
I did some YouTube watching and some review reading and I went to my local vape shop and told them what I was looking for. I ended up with the Smok novo 2. And a bottle of Fruit Monster 0mg juice.
Maybe it's because this is my first ever vape experience but I am getting barely any flavor from this. My vape kit came with a 1.0 ohm mesh pod, and a 1.4 coil pod. The one the store told me to try first was the 1.0 mesh. My juice is 75/25 vg/pg blend.
If my juice too thick for the coil? I'm getting crazy dense vapor which is nice, the vapor itself is warm. But like crazy muted flavor to where I really can't tell the flavor at all.
Am I just so new that my expectations were too high going into this? Is this normal? Am I using the wrong pod? Did I buy the wrong device for my needs? Maybe I need to buy a different juice? Or just say what the heck and try hubby's 2.5mg nic salt stuff. Any help is appreciated.
I plan tp try steeping my juice for a little and see if that helps, or just get a different brand and flavor (menthol maybe?) And try the other pod.

Welcome to ECF. Cute name. heehee I am sure others that know more than me will give you some good advice on your particular issue but I would, first of all, say try a different juice. It takes time and experimentation to find what we really like. There are so many choices. You may even find that getting involved with mixing your own juice may help and there are some good threads on that. With vaping 0 nic you do not have to worry about tweeking what you have. You could get a bottle of menthol and try adding that and see if it gives your tastebuds what they are searching for.

This is just my experience but the higher VG juices just gave me more clouds whereas 50/50 or more pg satisfied me more with a stronger throat hit and more flavor. My coils last a lot longer also with more PG in my juice. Does not get as gunkie.

I know others will have even better solutions but I am glad you are here and I hope you get it all worked out because it is nice to share activities with your partner and I find it very relaxing.

Stupid question, but did you give the bottle a really good shake before you loaded the pod? All ejuice needs to be mixed before use, and some juice can separate pretty quickly.

Welcome aboard, Warden!

Hard to say about any particular flavor, and yes it might just be a bit bland. "Fruit Monster" sounds like a blend of fruits, although names don't necessarily reflect that. Yup, a different flavor may be all that's needed.

This is just my experience but the higher VG juices just gave me more clouds whereas 50/50 or more pg satisfied me more with a stronger throat hit and more flavor. My coils last a lot longer also with more PG in my juice. Does not get as gunkie.

That's my experience as well, PG carries more flavor, VG makes more clouds. And, VG being thicker may make it a bit more of a coil gunker, although the particular flavors (and presence of sweeteners) will also add to the gunk. :)

I diy my juice, and run about 65% PG. But unless your local shop is willing to custom bend, you might be stuck with what ever ratio they make. It's likely they purchase in bulk from other manufacturers, and if so it is probably already well steeped. If they do mix their own, you'd need to ask them, uh, when was it stirred up? (OTOH most fruit flavors don't usually need much of a steep.
