First of all, thank you all for compiling SOOO much good info. I've bought disposable ecigs b4 at local smoker's outlets and have thus far been highly unimpressed. Now I know why!
I've read all of the info put for forth by DONDABOOMVAPE in the Library, which I found both very helpful and entertaining.. thank you for making this effort.

I finally have some great hope that after near 30 yrs of analog, I may have found a way to QUIT! Which I very much want to do.

SO... I'm probably going to order a BE-112 pen-stylehttp://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/members/11086/dondaboomvape.html, and perhaps a mini-something for airport travel. And some flavors. And some accessories.

What I am still unsure of is what nicotine level to try to start with. As I said I've smoked for almost 30 yrs. I smoke VS Menthol Superslims, usually 3/4 to 1 PAD. Any advice in this area would be most appreciated.

TIA:)

usualy most people switching find success starting in the 24mg or higher range then coming down as we "sweat out" the cig addiction so to speak. it is importaint to note we are addicted to many things in the cig and need a higher dose of nic to start to fight through it while we adjust to this loss., you will know if its working when there isnt an urge to smoke beyond just old habit. sometimes we feel edgy and this is the signal to go higher for a while.

I started w/ 24mg (20+ years smoking) and still use it 3 months in... I'm already tapering off to 18mg without trying. I do agree w/ Thrasher 24mg to start ^^^

If it's not a budget killer, getting some 18 in addition to 24 is a good idea. In several cases, people who I know have quit and had a bit of trouble with the higher nic levels.

If you don't use it now, you can always use it when you're reducing your nicotine levels.

Personally, I started at 12, rose quickly to 22, and I'm currently down to 20 and about to drop to 18.

NOPE, not a budget killer, can do that.

I'm trying to place an order, and of course, now I have another question.... do ya'll prefer manual or automatic?

Good! One person actually had to back down to 12 from 18 in the first week. Turns out he's always been nicotine intolerant. But that seems rare.

Manual or Automatic: Yes. :) I use both and like both. To start, I'd probably go with an automatic as it replicates the smoking experience more closely. Automatic is more of a no-brainer.

On the down side, auto batteries aren't fully sealed, so a leaking tank can ruin the batt. That won't happen with most manuals. I've had several leaking tanks and so far no auto battery deaths.

LOL.. can't say I've ever heard of a nicotine-intolerant smoker!

Well, then perhaps I shall buy both. I'm ordering from the site based in China, as their prices are very reasonable and this seems a good place to start and learn without risking alot. I'll just order some stuff and experiment! ;) DH smokes too, so if I don't like it, he can give it a go, perhaps.

Thanks for your help! And congrats on your NO SMOKING. I hope to join you.

Well crap.. now I've got another question, plz...

THIS SITE... pen style e-cigarette|BE112/DSE 801-T tank system series

WHAT is the difference between the BE-112 and the BE-112T (tank sytem)???

I did not know that placing an order was going to be this complicated.....

It looks like the T includes a tank. Which would have a greater capacity before requiring refilling.

Er, offhand I wouldn't recommend this system as it looks like a really cheap knock-off. It also looks like a three-part system which we've mostly abandoned (although not completely) as more error-prone and more difficult to use.

I'd be tempted to bite the bullet and go with a Volt if you want a cig look-alike, or an eGo system if you don't mind the larger one.

I was a pack a day smoker. Camel lights. I started with 18mg, and it seems to be perfect. If you smoke full flavor cigarettes, I'd start a little higher, and if you smoke ultra lights start a little lower. Just don't buy a big bottle of juice until you figure out what level you need to be at. Experiment with smaller bottles.

HMMM... this was one of the recommended sites in the Library for the PEN STYLE. Other recommended pen styles were the DSE801 & the RN4702, which both appear to have been discontinued. I'm wanting to try a pen-style, so can you point me to a reputable site where such is avail? I do want initially for this to look/feel like a cig. I'm looking for LONG (101mm+) and SLIM with a mouth-piece/tip. And cartridges I can refill w/ diff flavors. Also can accomodate both an auto or a manual battery, so that I can try each.

VS Slims Superslims are supposed to be more of a "light", but not an ultra. And I never smoke an entire cigarette at one given time. Well.. unless there is Cabernet involved. :)

Buy small bottles.. wise advice.. thanks!

I also recommend 18 mg nic. Some newbs do like 24 but a lot prefer 18 also instead, so I would get both to play it safe. Honestly, the pen style is sort of old school and not used a lot anymore. It is pretty and nice looking, but they just don't perform as well as the ego type devices that are bigger. Is real hard to get a great quality cig size Ecig. The best one that is cig size is the Volt. I highl recommend it if you are set on a smaller Ecig.

Google Volt Ecig. They are sold by I think altsmokes.com, or something like that. I have them. I tend to use bigger batteries usually though. The batteries are quite impressive and last most of the day, whereas most other small Ecigs you have to charge like every 2 hrs. You end up spending your whole day worrying about when you can charge your battery again. Lol

OK.. so I am re-grouping and starting over....

Here are my current possibilities....

Joye eGO-C Joyetech Joye eGo-C XXL 1000mAh Starter Kit | Joyetech eGo-C E Cigarette

DSE901 DSE901 Mini starter kit Stainless steel with blue LED

Joye eCAB Joye eCab electronic cigarette

And what about the Janty KissboxII....? I can find no info on this upcoming product.

I'll keep hunting... *sigh*. Still prefer something slim and long akin to a superslim analog. I think....

However, none of these sites give product dimensions, so I've no idea what I am looking at... :(

This is just not simple.. is it! TIA for all f your help & opinions, tho!

I would go with the Joye eGo. The eGo helpt me stop after 25years roll my own Van Nelle Export and Brandaris 150gram per week. 24mG didn't do it for me, I needed 36 to kick off. But most likely 24 will do it for you. Maybe have a 10mL bottle of 30mG just in case. You can always delute it later if needed .The first 2-4 weeks you really do not want to have the urge to smoke. That way your mindset is positive about not falling back to those analog sticks. lol

Hang in there.

edit: I missed the part about the dimensions. I don't know if there are any that work well with the look and/or dimensions of an analo one. I've seen nothing but misery with them, maybe someone else can recommand any. But otherwise ask yourself this. Is looks more important than stopping succesfully??
