Newbie here, introducing myself and looking for help with my SmokTech SID and Davide AnyVape

Greeting Everyone,

I'm new here and wanted to briefly introduce myself. My name is Phillip but I go by Pip, and I live in Columbus GA. I've been vaping about two months now; I started with an eGo passthrough and recently upgraded to the SmokTech SID. My tank is the Davide AnyVape with a bottom feeding atomizer (with Aro 1.8 ohm atty). Since my mod is VV/VW, I set it to about 4.0-4.2 volts (the mod goes to 6.0). The problem I am having is my SID keeps hitting with a burnt taste. I have replaced the atty several times, but the issue persists. I've been told I should try a carto tank, as I could crank the watts up to around 13 and have no issues. Has anyone else had this issue or have any advice on how to correct it?

Have you tried a lower power setting? For that atty you should be between 3.0v and 3.75v. Also have you tried vw mode?

Thanks for the response! I tried running it between 6.5 and 7 wattsand same issue. I switched tanks with another person with a SID and his tank did not burn on my mod running at 4.9 volts. Mine burnt on his at 3.2 volts. I ended up getting a different tank, I decided to go with the Smok Vivi pyrex tank. No issues so far.

Welcome to ECF, Looks like you may have had a bad tank and found the problem.

The strange thing about the tank is that I had no problems with it for two weeks and all of the sudden it just was ratchet tasting all the time. Is this something that happens frequently? Seems really unusual to me.

I have a Davide tank, and find it is better when I keep it at 3.8 - 4.0 volts. Sweet juices tend to get a burnt taste quickly. I'd clean it and do a dry burn, lower the voltage and see if that doesn't help.

I'll give that a try. I tend to vape berry flavored juice, which is pretty sweet.
