I had a longer post I was attempting to submit... But the content wasn't saved. :glare: So, now you get, a list!

1) GOOD menthol flavor. (My previous preferences included: Kool Menthol Milds, Marlboro Skyline, Time, & Camel Crush.)

2) Overall product: Really works, doesn't fall apart, easy to clean/use/understand.

3) Aesthetic: Isn't like sticking a piece of metal in your mouth. = Looks and feels like a cigarette.

4) Product delivers a decent dose of nicotine.

5) Is a good investment and not a waste of my money.

I don't know a lot about electronic cigarettes. But I was drawn to Blu as a possible alternative. My only fear currently, is paying 80$ and it turns out to be junk. I'll be buying electronic cigarettes as soon as I have the money for it. But I want my smoking investment to be a smart choice for me. So, if you have any serious, legitimate advice... I'm all ears.

Being as you want a cig look a like you should check out volt from smokeless image. They have great cs, the batteries is one of the best you will find for that size, they also have a discount code tho I don't know what it is.

You will want the 2 battery kit and they have one that is a little bit bigger for $1 more on the batteries but from what I have heard more than worth getting. Also after you get it if you go to the faces of volt in their forum and submit a picture you can get a free battery.

Edit to add: No e-cig will give the same fast delivery of nicotine, you will absorb it slower. So make sure you check the library section on inhaling, and I would suggest ordering a higher nic level than what you might think you will need.

Also, with the volt you won't be limited to just what they sell, just about anything for an 808 will fit, and the cartos are refillable so you can get juice from anywhere.

Try a newport juice. Many vendors carry it.

2) Overall product: Really works, doesn't fall apart, easy to clean/use/understand.

Ego Twist with 3ohm Boge cartomizers.

3) Aesthetic: Isn't like sticking a piece of metal in your mouth. = Looks and feels like a cigarette.

Hmmm....anything that resembles a cigarette has poor performance. You will constantly be charging your batteries. Not worth the expense because eventually you'll upgrade.

4) Product delivers a decent dose of nicotine.

Please keep in mind that nicotine isn't the only thing in cigs that you're addicted too. There are all sorts of crap that you body will withdraw from. For a good dose of nic, eGo Twist.

5) Is a good investment and not a waste of my money.

Ego Twist, charger, 3ohm Boge cartomizers, drip tip.

very much agree with hairball. my wife has volts and ego batts and she reaches for the egos alot more...easy to fill a stardust tank and go.
How much juice/cartridges should I consider buying if I'm looking to have enough for a month? If I normally would average 3 packs a week? Also whats the difference between the different levels of nicotine?
it depends on what you go with pv wise. if you go with egos get stardusts to top them. easy fill and you can see when they get low and need refilled..alot easier than filling a carto. then you have to find juice you like.. i went through plenty before i found what my go to would be. start at 24mg of nic and see how it does for you. they make 36mg but it is strong and stronger isnt always better as you can get nauseous.

First, stay away from the blu. It is a very expensive system, that doesn't perform well. The batteries only last about an hour and the cartos burn easily. They also don't sell blanks and their prefilled are overpriced. I started with the blu and had to return it and it took 5 weeks to get my refund.

If you want something that looks like a cigarette, get the smokeless image volt. They are the most recommended mini on here. The battery lasts for 2-4 hours (get the 78mm for the extra $1 for 4 hours of vaping). They have a customer service that is second to none. The cartos last a really long time, can be refilled several times and dont burn as easily. They are also reasonably priced with starter kits from $20 and the equivalent of the blu premium 100 kit being $65. There is also a 15% off coupon which will bring the price to $55, shipping included. Once you get your volt, they have a promo on their subforum for a free battery, bottle of juice or pack of cartos. Here is a video that shows the volt and the X2, which is the same as the kgo. This way you can get an idea of the difference.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELM4QhceR7o

Also, the smokeless image volt and the kgo deliver the same power, don't let people tell you that because it's a mini you wont get the same power. Both are 3.7v. The only difference is that the kgo has a bigger battery to go longer between charges.

Stay away from the ego unless you get the twist. The ego is only 3.3-3.4v and doesn't have nearly the power of the volt, X2 or kgo

Hmmm...good questions that only you can answer once you start. I would venture a guess though...3 packs a week (I was 4 packs a day...big difference LOL)....maybe 100mls a month for you and that's pushing it. Try getting some different levels to try to see what they do for you...6mg-12mg. The different levels is how many mg's per ml there are in it.

Recommend the best starter's kit you can afford from Smokeless Image. http://smokelessimage.com/ Worked for me. The mid-level X2 batteries they sell will provide you with longer battery life (6-12 hours or more), but if you insist your devices look like a cigarette, get the 78mm Volt batteries (will last you 2-3 hours each between charges). They come in your color of choice, and automatic or manual. The kit will come with 2 batteries and a charger and 5 pack of cartomizers.

You can get your e-liquid there also. Either pre-filled cartomizers or empty cartomizers that you fill yourself with your choice of bottled e-juice. I recommend their Ice Menthol since you smoked a menthol ciggie. They offer sampler juice packs if you're not sure what flavors you might like.

Tips I learned: Technique of vaping an e-cigarette is a little different than a real cigarette. Coughing is common when starting out until your body adjusts to absorbing nicotine via vapor, it goes away within a week. Your taste buds have been affected by however long you've been smoking, so flavors will seem faint for 3-4 weeks until your taste buds return. No e-cig will ever taste like your old cigarette (that's actually a good thing...you'll understand if you keep with the e-cigs). Try trial size or sampler pack e-liquids from different vendors until you find a few that suits you -- everyone's tastes are very subjective. Always have extra spare, charged batteries around -- no batteries means no vaping-->nicotine panic attack-->buys cigarettes again.

Smokeless Image is a very reputable online company with a full line of high quality products that are compatible with each other, is geared towards beginner and mid-level vapors, excellent customer service, and fast shipping.

Their forum here at ECF is very active http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/smokeless-image/. There are instructional videos there and the community is very helpful and friendly.

3) Aesthetic: Isn't like sticking a piece of metaL in your mouth. = Looks and feels like a cigarette.

That's not gonna happen. The Volt will look something like a cigarette. But NOTHING out there is going to feel or taste like a cigarette.

But don't be discouraged. There are countless people on this forum happily vaping away who once thought they wanted an e-cig that looked, felt and tasted like an e-cig. Now, most of us realize that (1) cigarettes taste horrible, and (2) looking like a cigarette isn't important, and (3) the more like a cigarette it looks like, the worse it performs (as a general rule).

It varies. I vape way more than I smoked. Mostly because I like the flavor and can do it anywhere (ie. in my house). Figure that a filled carto (1ml) equals about 8-12 analogs worth of puffing(not nicotine)

Most people use about 1-2ml a day unless you are a super heavy vaper. 30-60mg should be plenty for a month.

As far as nic level, that depends too. For me, I was a 1-1 1/2pad smoker, but I knew the hand to mouth action was the main part of my addiction. I started with 11mg nic and vape 6mg now. Most people start with 18-24 and drop from there. Again though, it will depend on how much you vape. If you are going to only vape the same amount of time that you smoked, you may want to start with 12-18mg or even 24, but if you plan on vaping a lot more, start with around 12.

You can always mix two different levels if you feel one is too much or not enough. For example, if you get 18mg and feel its too much, you could mix equal parts of 0nic to get 9mg juice.

My suggestion would be to get a couple of different levels to see what you like and want.

Also, take this into account, the average analog contains 1-2mg of absorbed nicotine depending on the type (ie. light or full flavor). Though it is unknown exactly nic you absorb through vaping, it is estimated to be about 30-50%. You also absorb nic a little slower when you vape. So if you are vaping 18mg nic, that means there is 18mg of nicotine in the entire 1ml in your carto. So if you absorb 50%,, that would be the equivalent of about 9 analogs.

Let me clarify this for you. It HAS been proven that we absorb 100% of the nicotine that we inhale.

I am a noob too.I have the volt from Smokeless Image and love. Wonderful CS. If you are not happy they will do what they can to make you happy. Never get a atty that is less than th 78. It is only a dollar more and will give you longer time. I am getting a x2 650 omhs which should do 9 or 10 hrs for when I am home. The smaller on when out an about. I prefer the automatic over the manual but severeal here use manual. I would go with the sample packss. The strong is the mentrols which is what I smoked for like 41 yrs but I do like their Country tobacco too. Your tastes will change. I like the Grape too so go figure. I put my cigs down the day my Volt came in and have never looked back. Oh, I love the ce3's as you can see how much juice you have and gives tons of vape. Ton of knowledge on this forum with friendly peeps. Hope you find what you are looking for...Happy vaping...:)

like alot of us i too wanted something that looked and felt like a real smoke. in time i started holding it in my fist rather than like a smoke. then i decided that i wanted something that had no resemblance to a smoke at all and that was an ego system. guess what im saying is dont sink a bunch of money into something that looks and feels like a cig as soon you will get over that and want to try something very different. do what you are comfortable with at first and if you sneak a smoke dont fret just keep vaping and you will eventually leave the smokes behind, you will find a good juice that you will love and would much rather be tasting.
