I have been lurking here for some time and I thought it was time to start posting. I purchased an e-cig over a month ago. I bought it at a mall kiosk, a newbie mistake, that was before I found this forum. I took it home charged my batteries and began vaping. It didn't taste exactly the same but I kept with it and within two days I was off of analogs. After a solid week of heavy vaping it started to taste very bad. After reading through the forum I realized that the atty needed cleaning, the kit only came with one.

I tried various methods of cleaning it, but it never tasted the same. By this time I had done enough research to know that I probably needed a better model. With Christmas coming up I could not spend any more money on my new hobby so I put it back in the box and put it away. The thought was always in the back of my mind to get another one in the future.

I was so bummed out when I had to go back to analogs, they tasted so bad to me after being off of them for a while. I wasn't coughing, I felt better and I didn't smell like an ashtray. I just recently decided that when I get my tax refund this year I will use it to buy some better equipment and try again. I've tried the patch and the gum but something was always missing and I would always go back to analogs. I'm still glad that I purchased the kiosk e-cig because now I know that I can quit. Just the knowledge of that is worth 10 times what I paid for it.

Anyway I'm looking forward to being a member of this forum and I can't wait to get my equipment and start vaping again.

Welcome, whadup! I started off completely wrong, too. Lots of us do before we stumble on ECF, so don't knock yourself too hard. At least the mall kit got you started and proved to you that vaping really does work. How much were you smoking before you got your kit? You know, you might be able to buy a replacement atty or even some cartomizers if we can find out what model your kit is. That would at least get you started again!

I took the kit out this week and tried it again and it tasted just fine. I think the reason it still tasted bad even after I cleaned it was because my taste buds were fried. I vaped for a solid day and it tasted the same as it did right out of the box.

The model that I bought was the Fifty-one trio, the atomiser is separate from the cart, in other words it's refillable. When I bought the kit they told me if I had any problems to bring it back and they would replace any damaged parts. Last night when I was refilling the cart I noticed that the wire mesh in the atty wasn't in the right place. There is a little metal thing that sticks up and the wire mesh is supposed to drape over it. I got some tweezers and tried to fix it and the wire mesh came completely out. Now it doesn't work at all.

So now that it really is damaged maybe I can get it replaced for free, the Fifty-one comes with a lifetime replacement warranty. I'm going back to the mall tomorrow to see what can be done. Hopefully I can get the replacement and purchase an extra one.
