Newbie! Here's what I am working with currently!

Hello ECF! I found this site today while trying to figure out the real deal on steeping. Great info.
I'm in the process of quitting a 2 pack a day habit. I've been at 2 packs about 4 years, have never been at less than a pack, and sadly started at age 13.
I started in September with a run of the mill e-cig and pre-filled filter type carts, and quickly found it wasn't right for me. I picked up a few 'longer last' batteries and liquid clearomizers, then e-juice naturally. Still wasn't working for me and my heavy habit.
I was spending too much time charging batteries and smoking analog in the charge time. I also felt like Cruella DeVille vaping that set up, longer than a 120 and not comfy in the hand.
Finally on recommendation of a friend I ordered the V2 Pro 3. That's been 3.5 weeks ago and I am still on backorder at least 2 more weeks!! I had invested so much in the Pro 3, and still going strong on analogs, my wallet emptied.
Last week I found a Zig Zag cart kit for $20 at my gas station, and I know that's a V2 product as well so I purchased for the interim. Again, I have analog downtime due to only having one battery but don't want to buy another kit with my empty pockets and such.
Which means I am still using analogs, but much, much less! Only during my battery charge time.
I visited with a friend recently who uses a (at this point) confusing to me mod, and he let me sample his e-juice. He had 6 flavors with him and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed them, being that I have been a menthol gal my entire analog life.
So as I was looking to purchase some e-liquid on MEL today (that's what I had sampled) where I found this steeping issue. I am vaping 24mg and it's satisfying to me. The PG/Vg is still somewhat confusing, I am going with MEL's 33% PG signature blend.
I'd like to give thanks to fellow Cincinnatian Baditude for his detailed advice, which I intend to follow once I receive these new and exciting flavors!
If anyone has any thoughts on this V2 Pro 3 I am waiting a million years for, I'm happy to hear them. Being new AND a heavy analog user, I'm looking for something that's got a good feel in the hand, has a long lasting battery, and is easy to fill with e-juice.
I'm hoping to get those analogs out of my life for good as soon as possible, and obviously a great vape is key.
Knowing my predilection for trying new and potentially better items, I have a feeling I will move into mods once I have gotten away from analogs completely. At this point, again, I need simplicity and ease of use!
Thanks to any who have read this far, and any willing to give their opinion on the V2 Pro 3!

I'm a relative newbie and by no means an expert but regarding PG/VG ratio, I find a 50/50 blend provide a nice, punchy throat hit while a lower PG blend makes for a much smoother vape. I tend to vape a 50/50 medium nicotine when I'm out and about and a 70/30 (vg/pg) low nicotine when I'm chilling about the house where I tend to vape more. I find more PG equals more throat hit and it also tends to dry the throat out more. As for the V2 Pro 3, I can't speak on that. Sorry.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

If you have met Baditude and he gave you any advise I would highly recommend you follow it. He is one of the most highly respected members here on ECF and has helped educate 1000's as they entered and transitioned throughout their vaping journey.

Being you are in Cincinnati visit Alt Smoke. I have been to their vape shop in Louisville. Their shops carry authentic products from well respected companies in the vaping world. Everything from beginner setup to advanced and beyond. Their vape bar is set up so you can sample all their juice before you purchase. They carry over 100+ different flavors from many different vendors (5Pawns & Space Jam to name a few).

Is this what you ordered? Probably not a bad starter kit (I started with much much less).

You will definitely want to hold onto you other setup to alternate them between charges. It sounds as if you are off to a really good start if you can keep your gear up and running. Between the two devices, hopefully you can balance that out.

With that in mind; I would still start saving now. You will be wanting to upgrade when you can.

Welcome to ECF!

Yes, that's the V2 I ordered. It seemed to be a vast improvement on what they were carrying previously, and I did watch that exact YouTube video (and others) before purchasing.
But oh, I am so BROKE and waiting so LONG! I called yesterday and it's at least 2 more weeks, then ship time.
The Zig Zag clearomizer is working pretty amazing for $20, and I think keeping it for the V2 battery charge time should work out quite well.
I'm positive I'll be looking into mods once I get off analog completely, which is why I purchased the V2.
So yes, I will be saving my money! Once I get this backorder nonsense out of the way, and can cut those analogs off I should be well ahead. My 2 pack a day analog habit was costing me over $200/mo.
So yes, the $$ given to V2 plus the still 3/4 pack a day is pretty much killing my pocket.
Thanks so much for your reply!

Thank you, I'm happy to have found ECF!
I haven't met Baditude, but read his posts regarding steeping before purchasing from MEL. He seemed to be incredibly knowledgeable and I intend on following his advice once my e-juice arrives.
Eastgate is a far drive from my part of town, but thanks for the info about Alt Smoke and the FB link. Very much appreciated!
It's so cool to have people chime in with good advice and be friendly. What a great site to have found!!

Oh dear... I've written 3 replies and deleted them all.

I don't like V2. They don't make much decent kit and it's all SO expensive.

Maybe this new model e-cig is a start of something new and exciting for them as a company.... For you, I do hope so. :)

Good luck. :)

SO EXPENSIVE!!!! The last commenter below, Just1Fixx, has posted one of the videos I looked at doing research, and the V2 Pro 3 does seem to be entirely different than anything they have produced in the past. It sold out the 1st day and I ended up on back order because I didn't get my order in until day 2 of release. Believe me, my fingers are tightly crossed that it's worth the wait. I will say though, they have great customer service and an easy 30 day return, so if I don't find it meets my needs it will go back!
If that turns out to be the case, I will be here on ECF asking what this heavy analog, newbie vaper should purchase instead!

Susan, when I replied I didn't realize I needed to reply with quote! Uber noob! Below you will find what I wrote in response to your kind info! Also I have to remove links...OK then! Thanks again!!

Welcome to ECF! With the right setup and determination(which you clearly have) I'm sure you'll kick the habit. It's a great feeling to breathe properly again  Hang in there and ask away. Everyone here is extremely helpful.

Thanks MrsMac! I am extremely determined!!! I am excited to kick this analog habit FOREVER!
I had to move back to Cincy from a happy and fun life in LA due to my Dad's deteriorating health. He was a 4 pack analog a day guy for 50+ years, and it has caused him several degenerative diseases. Then the heart attacks started, and due to the previous analog induced diseases, he is not a candidate for any bypass.
It's been surgery and long hospitalization and on and on for a few years now. He's now at a point where there are no more surgeries to be done. He's on 24/7 oxygen. It's a waiting game until he is gone, terrible to say but 100% true.
It took all of that to make him quit analogs, which he did 12/14/13.
I don't intend on following in his footsteps, so now that the surgeries and stress of that on my Mom (his wife of 48 years) and me is less, we have both turned to vaping.
My Mom's analog habit was only 10 a day, so she's quite happy with the V2 e-cig and pre-filled carts I got her. They work great for her! A single cart lasts her 5 days.
Dad is also a sometime e-cig user, when very stressed, but again he can get by with use of a plain e-cig and pre-fill carts.
But I am a pretty rabid analog user, and enjoyed everything about it but the smell. As hardcore as they come I would say...
I knew after 2 days and 12 pre filled carts I was going to need to step up my vaping game.
I'm really looking forward to the day I can use a banner like yours stating how long I have been ANALOG FREE!!!
(So V2, get it moving already!! :p)

Did a quick search and saw one of these kits for around $70. Not a horrible price if it vapes decent. I too LOVE smoking ( smoked as often as I could from about the age of 10). I ran through a bunch of kits and escalated to a rather pricey device pretty quickly. Spent about $350 to find something that has finally gotten me to enjoy being off of the smokes. And I don't even want to think what I have spent on liquid. What I am saying is you may not get off smokes entirely on this device alone. And that is ok, I had to start out by counting how many I wasn't smoking. Then I could go a day or two, and then a week. inevitably when I would back slide it would be while a battery was charging or when I was struggling with gear. I needed something that hit like a freight train and finally found it in my current setup. Sigelei 100 watt and a dripper. Now I am certainly not saying you have to drip to quit smoking at all. But what I am saying is that you need to have enough battery to be fully charged all the time. I haven't had a cigarette or cigar in 1 month and 3 days.

Make the move to what you are interested as soon as you can. Because if I had listened to some, I would still be smoking. All this stuff about needing to figure out how to use a tank first and such is garbage. If you know how to google, with what seems like a decent head on your shoulders you will do fine. Battery safety and Ohm's law can be figured out in about an hour with a little research. I have battery x that is safe at .3 ohms. I think I will build some .5 ohm coils etc. The reason I took the time to write all this down is when that thing comes I don't want you to be like f it this isn't what I was wanting might as well smoke. The sensation of feeling like you need a smoke in your fingers goes away if you are puffing out a cloud of tasty vapor. Wishing you much luck and an unexpectedly speedy delivery!

Thanks a million, sketchness! I will certainly look into that kit! As I said, I am using a Zig Zag clearomizer while I wait for the V2 Pro 3. I'm down to 10-15 analogs a day from 40, so that's not too bad in 7 weeks!
Mostly the analogs while I am recharging the Zig Zag. But I still have the analog with my first cup of coffee/after dinner/before bed thing going.
I am not pressuring myself, I am encouraging myself.
I've already returned 3 kits I knew weren't going to handle my chain smoking leanings. I'm hopeful about the V2 Pro 3. But if it isn't right, it will be returned!
The proceeds to go towards a mod. I actually work in internet research and feel I could figure out a mod. Still, I liked the look and description of the Pro 3 and not realizing the excruciating wait, ordered it.
If it EVER arrives the Zig Zag will be used for the battery charge time of the Pro 3 or any mod I might get instead.
I'm looking at this as a journey to becoming analog free, and having traveled plenty I realize there will be delays, miscommunications, wrong turns...
Yet nothing is going to get me off the road towards 100% vaping! I am truly determined, and it was my decision to do this, no one else's. Had I listened to all my friends in SUPER NON SMOKING LOS ANGELES I would have quit analogs years ago.
But I listen to myself, and in September my advice was- go forward and vape!!
Finding ECF was great, and the feedback I have gotten so far is amazing.
I'll be stoked to tell about my experience with that (will it ever come!?!?) V2 Pro 3!

THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL!!! :)
