Thanks guys, I'm getting ready to do some moaning over on the vendor specific section.

Mokeyjoe - I have never shown restraint before. It's stiflingly refreshing.
I thought I should be careful because a lotta folks here worship the ground Anonymous walks on.

Bijo, thank you for your advice, yes i did a hot water rinse, dry, and blow out before using each atty, and then regularly ever since. I have also tried everything I could get my hands on to clean the stank out.

Short list: hot water, boiling water, steam cleaning machine, vinegar & bicarb soda, alcohol, coca cola, and my falling tears. Not that last one. Maybe.

Still tastes ungodly.

Thanks again guys

I suppose it's possible that either A) you have a juice that tastes like satan's ..., or B) you just don't like vaping, or C) you didn't prime it, or D) your tears taste like satan's ... when you vape them.

BTW: vendors often don't respond to e-mail at all, not sure why, but do quite well on 'live chat' or on the phone. Please remember most of these vendors are people running a business out of their homes with limited resources. Just the nature of the business, I suppose, until we can iron out all this FDA nonsense.

Good Luck! We're all interested to know what ends up happening.

Hello everybody, (Hi Dr Nick)

This is my first thread, so be gentle with me ;)

I just wanted to share & hopefully get some insight from the community here, on what to do when your brand new investment goes haywire, and the vendor won't help.

This vendor has a good reputation here, and is also a member of the forum. I am keeping the vendor anonymous because of this.

On day 3 of vaping with my new starter kit, having spent $140, researched, studied, and followed instructions to a T, my atomizers suddenly started to fail, and the vapor started to taste "like Satan himself had pooped in my mouth" (to quote another poster).

I also realized I had been overcharged on Paypal. Oh and my PCC unit wasn't working properly. So of course I contacted the vendor..So far I have got one oddly worded reply with no real acknowledgement of the problem, and upon my follow up email, no response for 2 days.

This strikes me as strange, especially from a vendor who ECF peeps report to be exceptional in customer service.

So I just wanted to check, am I within my rights to expect better than this? Or do I just shut up and switch to a different PV system? (this vendors product, conveniently for me, is not compatible with other components)

Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to your replies

I'm curious about a few things; for starters (the identity of the vendor aside) I'm wondering what make & model of PV you're having problems with. Is there something about it that would point to a specific supplier?

Are the atomizers all from the kit?

How is the PCC malfunctioning, exactly?

UbA egar320, I'm planning a Name and Shame if I don't receive an adequate response within a further 48 hours.
I couldn't bear to have discredited someones reputation if it turns out to be a miscommunication.

I don't understand your reluctance to name the vendor:confused:

Sharing a bad experience won't sour a satisfied customer on that vendor, as they will chalk it up to a fluke, (...and everyone likes their vendors until there is an unresolved problem.)...but you could prevent some other newbie from choosing this vendor tonight, and going through the same thing!! 8-o

Customer service is everything, and if this vendor doesn't provide it, they deserve to lose business.
On the other hand, if this WAS a 'fluke', your disclosure may prevent the vendor from repeating the same mistake, which would actually help everyone! I think you do our members an injustice by giving the vendor too much slack.

Thanks everybody for replying and wishing me luck. People really do give a hoot here, huh?

Live2ski
Good luck all the recommended vendors on this forum have done well by me. I had one that took time to respond but he had been away. I guess we all suffer from the instant gratification bug....That is why we all track packages an get bummed when USPS doesn't get it in your box within three days. I bet he makes good and the forum suggestions are spot on. The Supplier base on this forum gets a lot of business from us and repeat business is what keeps them going. Most pride themselves on great customer service and we have come to expect that. A Supplier can ill afford to not live up to that criteria.

Liv2Ski, I do suffer mildly from Instant Gratification Syndrome, having been all over Ebay since before I was old enough to have a Paypal account. But I feel I keep it in check and I do see the vendor as a human being, just as vulnerable to mistakes as I am.

I hope you are right and he does square things up. Watch this space :)

Soilantgreen
Atty's are definitely frustrating. I've found even through consistently keeping them wet and watching over them sometimes you just get a bad one. I recently ordered 5 LR atty's for myself (playing with fire to begin with) and had one last me about 3 weeks working perfectly, 3 that died in less than 2 days each, and another that has been going strong over 2 weeks with no problems. My best advice is not to get frustrated and always keep a healthy backup supply just in case!

Soilantgreen, I feel ya. Not literally. Not just yet.
We must just be atty killas. Have you ever gotten so frustrated that you had to smoke an analogue? I swear this whole experience has Made Me Wanna Smoke! (thank you Mel Gibson)

Hey Rosa, The juice is beautiful, for the first 2 days I was floating on a cloud of RY4 that reminded me of licking Maple syrup off my plate after eating a short stack. Mm mmm, beeeytch.

So A) The juice is nice quality B) I love vaping C) I prime with unflavoured PG from the healthfood store and D) If I had really vaped my tears they would have tasted less like Satans ... and more like the bitterness of unfathomable frustration.

Thanks for wishing me luck. I get by with a little help from ECF

PoliticallyIncorrect, The make & model is specific to this Vendor, it is his brand, and I believe he developed it. Very similar to the way Blu is labeled and vendor specific.

All the atomizers are from my original order, 2 included in the kit, the 3rd I bought as a backup.

The PCC doesn’t plug in all the way at the bottom of the case, and the red light on the side flickers, and fades in and out, and often on retrying it, there's no light at all. No indication of charging at all, and on removing the battery, it is out of charge.

Thankfully, I bought 2 PCCs and the other one works fine.

daleaik
Just want to add that if this vendor is from China, I believe they are on holiday right now. I think it runs until the 5th or so. Good luck to you.

Thanks daleaik, the vendor is in America, and is not Chinese himself. But this is good to keep in mind the next few days anyway as loads of vendors will be out to lunch.

Markmcs, I understand where you're coming from.

The last thing I want is to do an injustice to anyone - the vendor, or the fine people of ECF.

When I started this thread I was afraid that if I included the name of the vendor I would be colored as a Noob just busting in hyah and making wild accusations.
Forgive me for offending by treading so carefully, but I really wanted to give this guy the benefit of time to work this out.

Don’t worry, his name will be known at the end of this saga.

KayleePup
My only thought would be that your liquid is the problem with the taste. I have had a couple that tasted horrid. What % pg? what flavor and was it from the same vendor?

Thanks for your thoughts KayleePup. The juice is the vendors own brand. It is 100% PG, and the flavors I chose are RY4, Vanilla, and B&H Tobacco. All were delicious for the first 2 days of vaping.
Which juices tasted horrible to you? Personally, Red Bull gives me the heebies.

Anyone who starts a thread with;

-- "Hello everybody" (Hi Dr Nick) -- has my attention and respect. =)

Just let me know who this vendor is and I'll murdalize 'em.

(pssst. it sounds like your attys ran dry tho)

I'll leave you with this whilst I watch the thread develop...

"Just once I wish someone would call me 'Sir' without adding -- you're making a scene".

Ok, FWIW, these are my thoughts (I won't dignify them by calling them advice):

Whatever is up with the Satan's poop flavor, the PV itself isn't likely the cause of it. These things are--for the most part--just power sources, battery enclosures. It's suspicious that the horrible taste & dying atomizers occurred simultaneously. Probably you'll never know for certain what part of the vaping chain was to blame, but the atomizers look like a good bet. Perhaps the vendor unwittingly sold you some defective ones out of a bad production lot from China.

I'd, personally, just get a few new ones somewhere else and let that issue go.

You have every reason to be ...... about an obviously, unquestionably defective PT, the PayPal overcharge and the vendor's indifference--if that's what it is. There's been a lot of good points mentioned in this thread, but two of them stand out in my mind:

Rosa: "Vendors often don't respond to e-mail at all, not sure why, but do quite well on 'live chat' or on the phone. Please remember most of these vendors are people running a business out of their homes with limited resources."

Pav: "You might be able to get to the vendor easier through this forum (through PMs) than through their website. I've heard of that happening before."

What the two together add up to is giving the vendor the benefit of the doubt, then trying a more-likely medium of communication to him.

At that point, you've done more than anyone could ask of you.

Fry his ....

Switch to cartomizers and never look back. That's what I did a few days after I started out with two cheap starter kits, realized cartomizers worked much better, with much less fiddling. I just refill the cartos and vape. Then I got rid of the two cheap starter batteries, bought some passthroughs (big improvement, never have to charge batteries because they run on either the computer's power, the car's cigarette lighter using an adapter, or an AC to USB adapter), and then bought two Joye eGo 1000mah batteries and two USB chargers ($63 for all four parts at Cignot), received them in two days from Illinois, use only 510 Boge cartomizers with soft caps from litecigusaa.net, refill the cartos when they're empty (each one lasts for about an hour when vaping constantly, no dripping, no dipping, no constant sucking to prime, no having to clean or blow out atomizers, no cheap little cartridges with polyfil inside, no blue foam).

The best thing is that these Joye eGo 1000mah batteries look great, feel great, and don't have to be recharged for many hours. I used one yesterday after I received them in the mail, and it lasted from 3:30 pm until 2:30 am, when I went to sleep. It was still going strong, and that was with a medium amount of vaping during that time, sometimes heavy vaping, sometimes not. I think this eGo battery will last at least 10 hours with constant vaping, not sure yet. I've been using one today for five hours constantly, and it's still going strong. I expect it will last another five hours, at least.

Good luck in your quest to find what works for you!

I do think way vendors handle things can make all the difference in your personal experience with them and who you will go to the next time you've got money burning a hole in your pocket. I tend to be a bit of the old school that the "customer is always right" (unless they are acting like a donkey's ...., IMHO,) you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar (although I have personal experience of the opposite with fruit flies,) and giving someone way to MUCH slack just means next time around they'll want more. Anyone running a business that peddles a product or service is there to "serve" you, I believe, since it's your money paying for their way of life. Especially in a business as competitive as this one, I would bank that going that extra inch might earn you a mile in the long run. I recently had 2 vendors make a mistake, so to speak, with orders I placed. The first mistake was made unawares...just faulty equipment but the vendor made up for it tenfold. He has earned himself a very loyal customer!

PoliticallyIncorrect,

Thanks man, I’m so ready to fry but because I’m so goshdarn sweet, I’m waiting til after the weekend.
I have totally written off the attys, I'm pretty sure I was vaping too dry. But I do expect a refund on that jank PCC and the overcharge.

I agree, this thread has had nothing but great responses. You people have shown me more support than my own family.

Deback

You got a whole 11 hours out of a single battery? I. Want. And cartomizers are sounding pretty sweet to me right now too. It seems like you went through a similar experience to me and came out the other side vaping like a demon. Hope you have continued success with your system.

Heatherport

I could not have put it better myself. He needs to lift his game if he wants to keep the flies buzzing.
Monday afternoon is go time. It will make 5 days since I first emailed him, and 4 days since his last response which did not adequately address the issues.

Can I also add how much I love everyone running with the Satan’s Poop description?
Kinda heartwarming in a way. I’m almost going to miss him when I get new attys.

Yes, I did, but the battery still didn't need charging after 11 hours. I had to go to bed, so I put it on the charger. Now that I'm vaping (with a battery that works great) and not smoking, I hate having to go to sleep at night!

EvilCute - You've gotten some really good advice from other members here. So I'll add my :2c:.

Do not reply in that vendor's forum. I repeat: Do not reply in that vendor's forum.
Reply in the "SUPPLIERS REVIEWS" thread instead.

Why? Because:
1. You'll have more exposure on the suppliers reviews thread
2. You'll avoid getting attacked by "fanboys".
3. You'll avoid having a flame war
4. There will more objective minded people reading and replying to the thread.
5. The vendor will probably respond faster on the "suppliers reviews" thread
due to exposure.

Hoping you get your issues resolved.
