Welcome.
You might find an alternative to going cold turkey here, of course. Most of us switched to e-cigs to stop smoking and not go through that. Cold turkey is probably OK a few times, but if you don't stay quit, vaping is the answer.
If you don't already know, there are thousands of vaping products (hardware and liquid) available to buy. There are also many brands that don't care about your success only your money. You cannot trust the internet to find you the best hardware.

I would highly recommend the Innokin Endura starter kit , it get unbelievable reviews and is the closest thing that mimics smoking a real cig on the market imo .

Perfect starter kit

Ready to go out of the box. No settings to fiddle with, just connect the tank to the battery, put in your juice, and fire it up.

The learning curve to get into vaping past cigalikes was intimidating and getting into vaping seemed like you had to read a textbook to understand what anyone was saying.

Getting this kit solved the problem. I'm now happily vaping, saving money, saving my lungs, and now I understand everything I'm looking at.

Recommend for anyone trying to quit cigarettes or gas-station cigalike vapes. Mimics the tight draw perfectly.

Thanks!

Excellent starter kit!

Highly recommended for a person switching from analog to vaping. The flavor produced from the tank is nothing short of outstanding! I purchased for my wife who is not very mindful of how she holds or tank when vaping; the way the Innokin coils are designed for wicking, in this tank, solves my concern for burned coils.

Holy mother of mouth to lung heaven. I am getting such a flavorful and warm vape out of this little thing. I have always been a big fan of mouth to lung vaping (more of a flavor chaser if I say so myself), and this really hits the nail on the head.

Since the coil is close to the top of the tank, you get a really warm and satisfying vape the moment you press the button. I am blown away by the amazing performance out of this thing. It's way better than I expected having thought that because the coils look so similar to the old iClears it wouldn't be all that impressive. Boy was I wrong, It's just exactly what I want out of a MTL experience.

$30 is a disgustingly good price point and I'm incredibly excited to get more of these to give to my family. I just couldn't contain my excitement before I get my review posted up so I had to share this with you guys.

Honestly it's so cheap I'd say just pick one up to try it, even if MTL isn't particularly your thing. It's really hard to describe just how good this little piece is, especially the flavor. Bravo Innokin.

I haven't tried this one, but I've read about it, and have recommended it to my friend who is thinking of putting down the analogs. I've seen them for under $35, including the tank, in several online web sites. I know I saw it at My Freedom Smokes in that price range.

I am a firm believer in the value of keeping things simple for new vapers. I am sure that if I had tried to make the switch from analogs to vaping with a complicated device, I might still be on the stinkies. Even with the simpler devices there's a lot to learn!

grats on wanting to quit, do some research, watch some youtube vids on cigalikes, box mods, tanks, i first tried cigalikes and disposables but didnt help me but helps others, everyone is different, i suggest buy a $5-10 disposable from a 7-11 or something, if you like and helps, go with v2cigs, stay away from blu, big tob owns it now, geensmoke i hear is not bad either

eleaf isick and mvp arent bad either for box mods for new vapers, gl man

I was a heavy smoker for 45 years and quit the day I started vaping. been tobacco free for 14 month and have no desire to smoke. there are studies that show that with vaping you are 20% less likely to return to smoking then with cold turkey so it's not perfect. still a lot of hard work but it does give you the best odds of staying of tobacco. many are not able to quit cold turkey but with vaping they are able to gradually reduce and eventually quit all together. welcome to ECF and good luck.we are all pulling for you

I smoked a pipe and cigars for over 40 years - started vaping 6 months ago - quit smoking cold and I've never had the slightest interest in lighting up since - I don't miss it at all.
For me ...after vaping so many great tasting e juices - I think smoking would taste terrible at this point !

I started out with 18 mg. of nicotine - went down to 12 mg. last month - the juices sure taste better at 12 mg.

I think the best thing someone could do if they are trying to quit smoking is to get a nice mod and tank setup - I really like the 30 watt eleaf Isticks ( I have 3 of them) and Aspire Nautilus tanks. A combo similar to this with give a smoker the volume needed to satisfy - then just cut your nicotine levels down across time.

It works !

I started out with stronger nic just to know that vaping could replace my addiction. I didn't care how much I vaped, just whether it could work. Over the last couple of years, I just slowly lowered my nic by steps when I purchased new juice. I don't take much and I sometimes forget, especially if I am busy.

It works. It became a hobby and that really helps. The flavors, after my taste buds healed, have become very satisfying.

Welcome to you, great stuff here!
