Firstly I'd like to introduce myself, I've been reading this forum for a while now and I appreciate the wealth of information it contains. I'm sure some of the questions I'm about to ask have been answered but I have struggled to get the answers I'm looking for.

My PV background. I quit tobacco in November 2011 with the help of a PV and have never looked back. I started with a 'replica' e-cig with an 808 cartomizer. I've since moved on to 650mah batteries and now 1300mah which I strongly prefer. It's now time to move on to something better and I will set out my criteria. I also would appreciate some help in understanding a few things, I know there is a glossary explaining the various components but I can't quite fathom what works with what.

Criteria:

Batteries. The 1300mah give me a really nice vape. Sadly they deteriorate quickly and can stop working at any time for no apparent reason. The cost of a new battery every 4-6 weeks is making this a very expensive hobby, and they only seem to work optimally for the first two weeks. I have read and understand what the Provari is an will probably buy one of these with an extension cap and a few 18650 batteries so i think i have solved this particular problem.

Cartomizers. I find that the quality is very hit and miss, some burn very quickly and again makes vaping expensive. I also find the refilling a bit of a hassle and also having to carry around multiple spare carts all the time.

So I'm looking at moving to a Provari with an alternative to cartomizers. After doing some reading, it seems there are atomizers, clearomizers, tanks, cartridges and tips. I am unsure what components I need to use in a particular set up. I also don't understand which components need to be replaced at which intervals so its difficult to weigh up the most economical set-up in the long run.

I've read about leakage and this does not appeal to me at all.

In short, I am looking for consistency, reliability, durability and value for money. Budget isn't a problem as long as it's value for money.

I hope to progress to Mods like the Z-atty in the future but I would like a stepping stone set-up for the provari so that I can understand all the components before tinkering. I also would like to undertand about refilling, dipping and dripping if relevant.

I use Halo Freedom juice, and will look to broaden my tastes once I have a new set-up.

Any links or replies to any of my points above would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Welcome , and don't know if you can get these where you are , but rather than the Provari ( which is nicely made , but expensive ) you might look at a Sigelei telescoping Zmax , or a Vamo . Then , lately I have been using either a Kanger Evod , or a Kanger baby T3 . Both of them are clearomizers . Not having any issues with either . No gurgling , or leaking . My only negative , is that you are stuck using the built in drip tips . ( can't use your own ) both are bottom coil BCC's , and fill from the bottom as well . You can also get replacement heads , for both . Good Luck .

I'm fairly new to the Vape Game myself but have used three different tank systems myself. Started off with the Vivi mini and moved to the Vivi STV tank. I have since upgraded to the AGA T2 and Terminator (Odysseus clone). The problem with leaks it seems would be the required maintenence. The Vivi seems to be the easiest to maintain and with a little attention once or twice a week seems to work brilliantly, although I do have to say I had some sweating problems through the threads until I switched to aluminum tanks with the Vivi. The AGA is also a tough built atty, from the stainless construction to the pyrex glass tank it will operate with the harshest of juice, and looks great on just about any advanced mod. It is very difficult to set up though and wouldn't be my first choice.

About a week ago I recieved my Terminator atty (short mode), and started using it every day. It was very easy to set up watching review video's found anywhere online and got it working brilliantly the very first time. It is sealed very well and other than a little juice on the contact pin on the bottom (which you will have with any tank system), is very clean and neat.

I'll say it again, and anyone is welcome to correct me, but I think it's all about the care taken in assembly and to maintain any device properly that will make it work for you without much problem.

I have been using a EVIC with 3400 Mah 18650 since I started vaping. I havnt had an issue with it at all. With that I think I have tried over 10 different styles of cartos and addys. I have used Vivi Novas, Iclear 30s, Kanger T3s, and several carto tanks and solo cartos. I prefer the Boge LRs with a good carto tank. But if I had to recommend and alternative I would say I had the best luck with the Iclear 30, I still use that one. I absolutly love my Evic and would recommend that to anyone. I wanted a provari for a long time but just dont know if its worth the money. There are a lot of good mods out there that do the same thing for half the price.

Thanks everyone for your input and recommendations.

One piece of info I'm lacking is, what are all the components I actually need? For example, currently I only need a battery and cartomizer. If I switch to an atomizer or clearomizer (and I'm still unsure which one I need), do I need a tank or cartridges or tips etc. I want to order everything I need and some spares too. I apologise if this has been answered and I've misunderstood.

Heads, bottom feeders, bccs are all still unfamiliar terms. What is a drip tip and why is it a disadvantage to not use my own?

I guess I'm trying to undertand the set ups in more generic terms at this stage. Once I've understood the system I can start researching which brands to buy. Thanks again to everyone for your comments :)
