So I decided to join and do an intro instead of lurking 1-12 months like a do on most forums.
Hello I am very new to the ecig/vaping world. I was a light smoker as some would say 6-8 cigarettes a day, very partial to menthol. Camel crush menthols some times even with mint gum lol. Also did snus, not the real stuff but the camel snus for when I was fueling trucks for work and couldn't smoke an analog. I have a hookah at home, also smoked black & milds and menthol cloves.
I actually got into ecigs by accident as I had no desire to stop smoking, I had stopped cold turkey before from smoking a pack or more a day and had no desire to go down that road again lol (stayed off tobacco for 3 years and slowly got back on it). But I knew I needed to stop at some point and my wife reminded me of that fact. Although I can be persuaded to do something I don't want to, once I have decided to do something no one can really stop me even her and she knows it. So I knew I would thank myself in 20-30 years the less damage I did while I'm young (23).
I was interested in trying a disposable flavored ecig I noticed at my tobacco shop where I buy my supplies for the hookah but they were out of all but two flavors I wasn't interested in. Before work I noticed a disposable ecig at 7-11, for $10 I said why not let me try it. I had finished a pack of cigs about an hour before and had a new pack in my car. It was a blu cig menthol flavor of course, so I used it and didn't smoke an analog all night. To me I wasn't to crazy about the flavor, tasted like a light chocolate coffee flavor hardly any menthol at all. I did some research and decided I would make the switch from analogs to ecigs. There were a lot of options to put it lightly lol, I was gonna get the blu premium pack but I did not want to wait for shipping especially so close to the holidays. If I was gonna stay off cigs I needed something asap. So I went to Walgreens and got the original blu starter kit and long story short I haven't smoked anything but the blu even with my brother over. We normally smoke like chimneys when we're together. He actually liked it and didn't smoke all night we just vaped. He came over Monday and smoked analogs and even set my hookah up and I wasn't even tempted just kept hitting the blu.
So I haven't smoked or had a craving since Thursday night and as I work nights that's when I smoke the most. One thing is I haven't put this thing down lol if I'm awake its close by. I've read that's kinda normal and I see why this wouldn't be enough for heavy smokers (the blu cig) I know a lot of people dislike blu and can see why. I mentioned why earlier, I needed something right away. I don't need to worry about running out cause I have Walgreens all over the place. I have had one dry cartomizer from a 5 pack of menthol. I ordered some ejuice from Johnson's creek, so I can refill the carts. To wrap up this long post, posted from my phone so please excuse typos and the like.
A few questions
The blu batteries are threaded 510?
If so is there a reputable retailer that sells cheap but reliable cartomizers that I can refill myself?
Its not worth it to buy a 5 pack for $15 when I might get empty ones unless I'm running low
