I'd love to have a few hundred bucks to drop on something like a Provari and some glass carto tanks. I just don't have that kind of spending money. Also, and this goes back to research, Spinfuel Magazine and all the threads I've seen here on the topic give the Halo Triton favorable coverage compared to systems that are way more expensive.

This is really a great post. We started vaping 2 years ago and went through everything you talked about here. Of course, everyone that saw us vaping had to vape so last month we started selling starter kits and make our own juice. We make it for you while you wait and until you like it. The only thing is we have to make them understand the way it taste today is not the way it will taste a few weeks from now.
We didn't want our community wasting anymore money buying the gas station throw aways. I must say, people really love these kits. We don't sell on a website or over the Internet in any way. It's only local and they have to come to us so we can show them how to use it. We also encourage them to research this forum and sample juices from other vendors.

@Wrainn - A great way to help those new to vaping. As with most others new to e-cigs, I started with a few of the tobacco flavors hoping to get the taste of a Camel or my home-rolled blend. A couple were OK, but within a week I had ordered many other flavors hoping to make recipes that I would like. Still on the hunt for the elusive 'favorite' or best flavor - but have found a lot that are good. Much better than any of the tobacco flavors!

I have never tried a Blu or an Njoy. I did about a week of research before buying a 650 mAh kit with CE5 clearomizers. YouTube and reviewers like PBusardo and GrimmGreen helped with the learning curve. I soon learned that many eliquids have a 'sweet spot' voltage or wattage where they taste best. The small 650 mAh batteries did not have the flexibility and missed that 'sweet spot' more often than not! I now have a eGo C Twist and an Anyvape! I would never have imagined how much of a difference that made! Some juice just does give its full flavor until the correct voltage/wattage is used.

So, do your homework, watch a lot of reviews and get a variable voltage/wattage device. I still use the smaller batteries when it's more convenient, but hardly ever at home.

Fact: I got all of my info from an ecig vaper who works in my building, quit analogs, and laid the knowledge on me
Fact: I'm a newbie :)
Fact: I have been smoke-free for two days and 1 hour(-ish)
Fact: I have not gone this long without an analog since I was 12 (22 years)
Fact: I feel as though I have a new lease on life
Fact: e cigs are the reason for this

There's so much information, and so many opinions out there it can definitely be overwhelming. It took me a few tries before I came into my own as far as what type of juice I liked, did I want to drip or carry a 6ml tank, how long I could keep a battery charged, etc... much less all the people pushing newbies into rebuildables and $170 mods (I like Provape just fine, easy killer) before they know they're own particular preferences. I too started by spending more than I need for things that have now become my "In Case of Emergency" kit. And burned up atomizers... And given away large amounts of juice I vaped maybe twice...

So my wife has decided she want's to give it a try, and this is the path I took for her using my experience. If it helps one person, then it's worth my time. **Sorry it's a long post, but I think my opinion is the best ;)**

(2) Tried and true brand of rechargeable battery. eGo, joyetech, etc... Yes, you will find someone who says theirs sucks, and someone else got one that was broken, ..... happens. The other ..... ton of people that bought them are doing fine not trolling away their free time. You can get them cheap, as individual items or a kit. Why two, you ask? You know that feeling when you want to smoke, have cigarettes, but don't have a lighter? Thats the same feeling with a dead battery. Sucks bad. I got my wife 2 ego's with evod tanks, a case, a charger, and even a spiffy little 10ml tank w/ nozzle for $20 from fasttech.com Yes, that's $20. 4 Packs of smokes. Just go to fasttech.com and search for evod/ego/ecig...

(2)Tanks. Good tanks. Not rebuildable $100+ tanks, not even $20+ tanks. Just NOT the cheapest tank you can buy. Why two? You WILL break one. Or forget that one's empty. Or burn a wick. While you're at it, buy a 5 pack of heads for that tank. They will be sold right under the tank on any site. Like so many have said, it takes a while to order supplies so it's better to have too much than not enough. Still a $5-$6 add on. Worth it.

Juice is a matter of taste, obviously, but here's my thoughts. Get some menthol. If you're coming off cigarettes it's a familiar concept, and will open your tastes to the endless options out there. Get a tobacco. Maple rum, cherry tobacco, or something similar. It's hit or miss with most vapers whether they like to vape a tobacco flavor but the ones that do REALLY enjoy it in my experience. This might be you. Again, eases the transition. Try an individual flavor. I like blueberry. Some like apple. It's fruit, you probably have a favorite. Get it. Vape it. Easy. Lastly I recommend one of the many fruit blends out there. Again, you're going to be tasting things different and you're trying to zone in on what flavors you enjoy vaping. Some flavor's that are good to eat don't exactly translate into a good vape, but that's why you're doing this. So that's about $20 or so bucks for 4 10ml bottles. Thats some minty, some classic, some safe fruit, and something daring. It gives you a basis for what you like and what to order the next time.

You're in about $40-$50 at this point. You have a solid foundation you can add to and maintain. You have backups so you don't get stranded with analog's. You stopped smelling like an ashtray. All good. Most people drop AT LEAST $100 before they even start ordering stuff they really end up liking, so consider this justification to your spouse for the $50 second order of juice when you realize how awesome it is ;)

Hey. I'm new here and i recently got interested in ecigs through YouTube. I've been searching online for webstores that sell them and I've found a few. I was wondering though since they are illegal in where I live, Singapore, what would happen if i were to purchase them and have them ship it to my home?

Search here for Singapore. Their might be a Singapore forum. Then ask there -- if anyone will know how to do it, other people from Singapore will.

What the...? It is THAT time, once again! :toast: That's riii-iight! :) It is time to give a tremendous shout out to PaporPlas! Wahh-hoo-Yahhoo-terrah-rah-boom-deeay and CAW! :2cool:

I still believe this is one of the best threads around anywhere! :D PaporPlas: The vaping world has been very good to me since my last post. We (me an Mrs. Byrd) went to our first vapemeet, in July, in Atlanta, GA -Vape-a-Palooza. While there I won a drawing and won a new mod! It is called "The Hammer of Thor" and is an e-pipe. Then, recently, I won another mod a new Kamry KTS (mech mod) starter kit including the X8 carto tank!

Things got even better! A new B&M (the first true vaping shop) opened up here and is about a mile from my house! The very first Vape meet was held there, about two weeks ago,....and you already guessed it... I won another mod! A Sigelei #20 mech mod!

So...I had to fly by...as I periodically do...to give a tremendous shout out ;) and the obscure, yet coveted, YardByrd's Caw of Awe! CAW! to PaperPlas the OP of this thread. Great thread! :rickroll:
