I'm a very long time smoker who is very happy to be analog smoke-free. Smoke free for two months.. NOW have to figure out how to keep the egos WORKING!

I have 3 ego-T batteries that I rotate in the usb charger. One of the batteries works fine with a brand new clear basic atomizer. However, this very same NEW atomizer will NOT THREAD onto TWO of the batterires! There seems to be some sort of spring up inside the atomizer that is preventing normal threading.. and so normal contact with the battery "pins" ( ? ) The threads on BOTH batteries that AREN'T working look clean upon close inspection. One thing I noticed with these two batteries is a small 'divot' or on the surface of the pin itself. Hopefully someone here might be familiar with what this could mean.

I'm retired on a very small income.. so getting all the mileage I can out of the equipment is important.

Any suggestions on what could be wrong? Any simple repair that I might be able to do?

I am challenged with pretty difficult health challenges at this time that the years of 'analog' caused. Am making progress though.. through a 'super nutriton program that includes green juicing every day. : ) The last thing needed is constant equipment related stress that minimizes this otherwise great step forward.

I've attached a picture of the 'divots' I'm talking about. the ebo battery that WORKS is simply FLAT on the surface!

It's very good to know that experienced vapers are here.. and I'm grateful that I discovered the site today!

I'll be watching closely for replies..

Hi, we'll try and help. It's a little quieter than usual as people are doing family stuff right now.

If possible, please give the exact name of the product and the vendor it came from, this helps us to identify the issue.

For example the eGo model from some vendors has different threading, the Volcano one is completely different and a proprietary model (other stuff won't fit on it even though it looks like an eGo).

The same applies to some heads (the atomiser/tank combo). It looks like you have a compatibility problem - the stuff you have bought just fits on its own system gear, not products from other vendors. There's no way around that apart from getting hold of the 'other end' from the same vendor - if you got the head from a vendor and it doesn't fit other systems, you need the battery holder (eGo or whatever) from that same vendor.

This applies if you get one that has an 801 thread, like the kGo, or an 'eGo' fron Volcano, which isn't an eGo in reality (it's called the Inferno and only fits Inferno stuff both ways). The 510 thread alone is not enough to ensure compatibility, Volcano for example deliberately make it impossible for other vendors' products to fit theirs.

When buying, you need to know that (1) it has a 510 connector, which is the benchmark, and (2) that it has a universal eGo thread system (the lower threads on the battery end).

You really need to thoroughly clean the 510 connection, use qtips rubbing alcohol & napkins and scrub that poor thing clean.
The inside of the 510 connector and all threaded areas should be kept clean, be bright & shiny with no residue visible, including threaded base of clearo / delivery device that screws into the battery.
