Newbie, Joye eGo getting here Mon

Holy cr@*, what have I gotten myself into? So much info to try and filter through. Ordered the eGo, extra batt, some juice, and feel like I haven't even scratched the surface! Carts, cartos, attys, and on and on.... but if it will help me with a PAD habit, for the last 20 yrs, lets roll.

Question, how long should I expect to get out of the standard cart that comes with the eGo? Am I going to have to take 5 carts with me to last a day at work? I don't even know if you can compare it to a pack of analogs?

I'm kindof excited about it, but kind of anxious too, with the thought of not smoking anymore and also trying to reasonably sort through all of the problems people are having as well. I'm thinking this will work, because this gives you something else to fidget with to keep my idle hands active!

The eGo is a fantastic choice for a new vaper. I wish they were around when I started.

My advice would be not to get too hung up on quitting cigs entirely until you've got the hang of vaping. Once you've got into a system that works for you then the cigs will fall by the wayside. The little frustrations you might experience in the early days will be magnified if you have an 'all or nothing' approach. Everyone settles into a way of vaping that suits them - dripping, carts, cartos, voltage, PG/VG etc - but it's a little trial and error until you find something that clicks. Then it's dead easy.

Vaping isn't exactly like cigarette smoking. It's more like switching to using a pipe - there're are things to learn but ultimately it's more satisfying.

The eGo is a great PV for anyone. Now you just have to find the perfect juices. I say juices (plural) because unlike analogs where you have one favorite for life, with vaping you have hundreds of configurations as mokeyjoe stated.

Find the flavors you like and then start playing with the mixtures, PG/VG and nicotine levels. These will change the throat hit and vapor production.

I enjoy vaping way more than the two packs of camel turkish gold for the last 20 years!! I stopped as soon as my kit showed up and I now CRAVE vaping.

Andy, don't let it get overwhelming. You've got a great kit coming. Keep your cigs around until you get the hang of it....then they'll just fade away on their own.... Keep reading. Go to the ECF library and read that 6 part set of vaping threads. Good luck. It seems like a lot to learn right now, but once you're going, it'll all fall into place. It's not as confusing as it sounds. LOL

Yep all good advice. I agree, make sure you have some analog cigs around. If you are like me and some of my friends it will only take 3-4 days of vaping before the analogs taste like crap.

I have a few PV's, but a rotation of 3 eGos are my main devices. I cannot and will not use cartridges for any reason. If there were only cartridges available for the 510 I would still be smoking analogs.

I use cartomizers and drip (at home). What I can add is I was exactly a pack a day right down to the hour most days. With my ego and pre filled cartomizers I can get through the day with less than two full cartos.
And I feel like I am hitting it more often than when I was smoking analogs. Thats why I have no problem buying pre-filled cartos. Worst case I go through 2 full ones a day for 3.60. Sure beats the 9 -10 bucks a day for NY smokes.

Good luck, and enjoy. The pre filled cartos from liquidXpress are great if you want to give them a try.

If you are filling your carts yourself with only one flavor of juice, there is no need to carry extra carts, unless it makes you feel better, but I would carry an extra battery and atty - failures can be sudden.

This is a great bit of advice. Don't put to much pressure on yourself to quit analogs right off the bat. IMO, it will make it a much easier process.

I will add what helped me as a newb. Keep at least one cartomizer or cart around that is tobacco flavored for when your really craving an analog. They don't taste the best, but it works when your dreaming of a real cig.
I like liquidXpress "original" in 18mg for just this reason.

Thanks for the responses! I think I'm going to get some of the cartos, but I'll see what happens Mon. I did buy some empty carts and a few juices too...
