I am new to the forum, but have been lurking for a couple of weeks. Based on the advice in the Infozone here, I purchased an Ego starter kit last week after using Blu for the last 7 months and dropping a 20-year 1/2 PAD habit. After a few days of use, I have found I love the battery life of my new Ego, since I can get through a whole day and a half and not recharge every 30 minutes like on my depleted Blu batteries. But I am still searching for a vaping experience I can settle on.

I only purchased carts with my Ego starter kit and found the terrible wicking to make them worthless, very little vapor production and only 2-3 good drags before needing to add more drops. I resorted to refilling some old blu cartridges with ejuice I bought with my Ego and have found that to be a great short-term remedy (wish I had done this months ago). I have tried replacing the filler in my Ego cartridges with blue foam, and that seems to work better, but there's some leaking and even the easy process of cutting the foam and stuffing the cartridges is too much of a hassle with my need for ease and simplicity. I have tried dripping and vaping with an empty cart, but I hate having to add another few drops after only 5 puffs and the mess of constant dripping.

Any suggestions for my next step? I am getting a nicotine headache from all the different methods I've tried in the last 4 days!

Before you buy new batteries or other major equipment try a clearomizer. Should make a big improvement.

Be sure to get the LR ones, not the 2.8 ohms as they don't seem to perform as well on the standard Ego C type batteries.

Hopefully this quick and affordable adjustment will make a big difference for you. If not, then you can go on to bigger and better things!

Welcome to ECF , but you need to lose the cartridges , and get some carto's ( I prefer Boge's ) but any brand will work . On the Ego's , I would use an LR , or the lower end of the SR carto's . And do not use any dual coil , as the battery life will drop substantially . You can try an Ego twist battery . It's a VV device that adjusts from 3.2 to 4.8 volts . Or , and I'm suggesting more VV devices , if you can afford it . Buy a Provari , or for less money , the Vmax . You have a lot more variety in your vaping , when you can adjust the voltage , up , or down , to suit your tastes . Again using atty's for dripping , or carto's . You could also pick up a Vivi-Nova tank . They are fairly cheap , come with three replaceable heads , and are easy to re-build . Saves a lot of money , in the long run .

Hi and welcome to ECF. There's nothing wrong with your Ego...it's the atomizer/ cartridge system that bringing the performance down. Very prone to leakage.
Different delivery systems:
atomizer/ atty- an element on to which 3-4 drops of juice is dripped

cartridge/ cart- a container with sponge (filled with juice) that is used with the atty- juice drips on to atty from cart and is vaporized- this is your present delivery system- old, outdated and prone to leaks.

cartomizer/ carto- metal tube with stuffing and element- can hold anywhere from 1 ml- 2 ml.

carto+tank- a carto with a hole punched in it. Carto is than placed in a glass, metal or plastic tank which is filled with juice- juice saturates carto by way of hole in carto- depending on the tank can hold anywhere from 1.5 ml to 5 mil.

Clearomizer- a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing- various sizes and brands

Most of us are now using rebuildable clearomizers- holds lottsa juice and when the head (wick+ coil) needs replacing just unscrew old head and install new head- takes 10 secs. I wash and dry burn my clearo heads every 2nd day and they're lasting about 4 weeks.
