Newbie, just placed order last night and have a few questions, of course. ;)

Hello everyone... I was lurking these forums all last night and found a lot of the information here very useful on placing my first order.

I purchased the Automatic Ultimate Ultimatum kit from Vapor 4 Life, along with a variety of cartos, and an extra battery.

I picked up mostly 11mg cartos, and a couple in 18. I do not smoke analogs inside my house, haven't for years, but I know that now I will be able to vape indoors, I'm going to be doing it much more often. I went with the lower dose based off some of the newbie tips I read here.

These are the cartos I picked up:

Premium VK Irish Cream -18mg
VK Margarita - 18mg
VK Root Beer Float - 11mg
Premium VK Clove - 11mg
Premium VK Doc Pepper - 11mg
Premium VK Smilin' Special Menthol - 11mg
VK Green Tea - 11mg

Thoughts? reviews on these?

I also picked up a bottle of juice that's the Kamel Menthol. I wanted the juice for the Smilin' Special Menthol, but it was unavailable. Would refilling this juice into the used Smilin' cartos be fine, or a bad idea?

Also, this is my biggest question I don't seem to find answered anywhere.. probably because it's a non-issue. With all these flavors I am going to want to try right away... what is the proper handling etiquette for changing cartos? Should you just use one until it's done? Can you change them out at will? Will they 'dry up' if you start to use one, and then don't come back to it for a couple days?

Thanks for all the great info I've already found here, and more I'm sure to learn. I'm excited for my package to get here so I can start!

I'm afraid I can't help you with your carto questions (I use regular attys/carts) but I *can* welcome you to the forums. Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the ECF!

You can pretty much change your cartos at will. They will come with little rubber caps on both ends that you can use to seal them for later use. It's one of the best things about cartomizers, you can carry multiple flavors with you with little effort.

Eventually you will want to replace flavors and at that point you can either attempt to vape them dry (which may result in burning the filler ), rinse and dry them, or simply add juice to them. It depends on the flavors you are using and whether they would complement each other or not. The Kamel and Smilin' special sound like they would be all right together.

When I’m bouncing between flavors on my V4L cartos I just make sure they are recapped and stored and try to get back to them within 2 weeks. I’ve not had a problem.

I have only tried a few on your list…

Doc Pepper – a little light on the flavor for me but very accurate! You might want to try Red Energy if you like this one. Tastes like bubbly sweet tarts!

Clove – ew…. I personally thought it tasted like ham, which doesn’t say anything since I haven’t actually eaten any ham in 18 years. (And the snozberries taste like snozberries!)

Premium VK Smilin' Special Menthol – reminds me of a menthol cigarette… WOW Peppermint would be great for you if you like the Smilin’!

The Green tea tastes exactly like green tea… crisp and light with a hint of sweetness.

I was a PAD full flavor smoker and I found the 18’s to be perfect.

When refilling, if you don’t want to wash your cartos out, it’s best to stick with compatible or complementary flavors. Just refill one and see if you like the mix!

I am currently smoking a PAD of menthol lights (usually Marlboro or Camel) and the Smilin' Menthol sounded like something I would enjoy when I wanted a 'real' cigarette.

I also occasionally smoking clove cigarettes, hence the Clove purchase. I'm picky with my cloves, so this one may be a hit or a miss.

I'd love to hear flavor suggestions! There's so many to choose from!

Matter of fact, DON'T wash them until the get old/not fresh tasting, it is confusing now, but you will understand. Just keep filling with same/complimentary flavors.

Washing them seems at least for me to shorten the lifespan of the cartos. Some I wash never work again, but the ones I keep filling with the same flavor seem to last forever.

When rinsing, you're just running tap water through them, correct? I'm still researching all of this stuff so I don't totally ruin my first set.

There are as many ways to clean them as there are people that devise ways to clean them. When I first started, I tried every way described... Alcohol, boiling, and the whole lot. THE BEST way that I have found it this.

Well I seem to have broken tastebuds when it comes to flavors that are not tobacco or menthol, haven't like any really so I can't give you a reliable review but can say that the Smilin Special is pretty darn good and also goes well with other menthol or tobacco flavors as well.. I actually use it for flavors that have little vape to them or new flavors that taste okay to me but need something more, the kamel prefilled tasted quite good with a couple drops of it in it and smilin and cool nobacco was pretty darn tasty as well.. Yup smilin is pretty special in more ways than one

I was a menthol smoker for 18 years 2.5-3 packs a day. I CAN'T STAND any of the V4L menthol flavors.

I like RY4 after about 20 odd bottles of stuff I didn't like.

See how tastebuds can be subjective, and different.

I have actually started to acquire a taste for Dakang Morlboro (GACK!!) don't know why, maybe I am just getting used to it from buying so many kits with prefilled carts, and not wanting to waste it.

Well, I certainly hope I have more hits than misses with the variety I ordered.

I'm smoking about a pack a day of either Marlboro or Camel Menthol Lights. It's disgusting and I've tried everything to quit, but keep falling back to them. I've several friends sway me onto e-cigs, and I finally made the leap.

After reading all of the success stories around here, and hearing about people who instantly put down the cigarettes and never looked back, I'm very hopeful. This is my birthday present to myself this year.

Ok, disclaimer - taste is subjective. Having said that, here's my experience with V4L cartos.

First off nic strength. I smoked a pack a day of Parliament 100s. I started vaping at 11mg and it didn't cut it for me. Went to 18mg and that was better but still craved a cigarette (especially in the morning and after meals). I added in some 24 mgs and that did it for me and I was able to give up all analogs and just vape.

Now for flavor. I prefer to stick with the WoW Vapors or Premiums. I notice a very big difference in taste and vapor quality with the regular or 'sale' cartomizers. For the WoW Vapor, the Peppermint is my go-to vape. I have tried, like, and recommend the Vanilla, Butterscotch, Apple Cinnamon Cranberry, Cappuccinno, and Chocolate. For the Premiums the Dark Chocolate Raspberry, Grape, Mint, Mixed Berry Sampler, Peanut Butter Cup, Pomegranate, Red Energy, and Smilin' Special Menthol are all excellent. I kind of like the Banana. It doesn't taste like Banana to me, more like Banana leaf only, but I enjoy it anyway because it reminds me of a very smooth tobacco. I did not care at all for the Doc Pepper (all pepper and zero sweetness), and the Pink Lemonade tasted like dishwashing detergent to me. I thought the Nuport was horrendous (lol, sorry V4L I know you try hard!). Personally I do not like the WoWboy but my friend LOVES it. He was a Marlboro smoker and he says it tastes very much the same to him. I have not tried the Orange Juice myself but read from other posters that it was pretty bad (I believe the word vomit was used).

I've tried most of their other fruit flavors. I have no real complaint about their 'taste' other than for me some of them were lacking in strength. That could be my tastebuds though. I did enjoy the Strawberry and Watermelon the most, just wish they were stronger.
