Yo guys, just wanted to get some feedback on my vape setup now and where I should go from here.

Right now I have an eGo Twist with a Protank 2. First I had a slb eGo v2 mega battery and a PT 1 (which I broke accidentaly), then I bought two eGo twists and PT 2's (one of which I lost). I'm waiting on a new slb v3 mega because of the vv/vw and ohm's reader. I'm thinking of going for a mech mod in the near future just to try it out, but I haven't really done a ton of research yet. Is there a big difference from the eGo batteries to a mech? I'm just not sure if it'll be worth the maintenance to get one.

What are your expectations for getting a mechanical mod?

A mechanical mod is really only a stripped down metal tube with a power switch and a top connector to attach the juice attachment. Your vape experience will be at the mercy of the battery's voltage level and the resistance of the juice attachment - it will be at its best with a fully charged battery and gradually fall in performance as you vape with the voltage drop. So there will be no regulation of the voltage like your Ego Twists provided.

You could add a Kick to the mechanical to regulate your voltage, and allow for variable voltage, but why not just get a regulated VV mod if you are going to do that? A mechanical mod has no built-in protective circuitry for shorts like a regulated mod has. You'll need to be much more savy about the condition of your batteries due to this.

Unless you plan to specifically use an RBA/RDA with sub-ohm coils, I see no reason to buy a mechanical mod unless there is a particular mechanical mod that you like for purely aesthetic reasons.

Hmmm, I'd say a lanyard might be a good investment....:laugh:

Play around with your new VV/VW setup with a few different toppers, cartos, tanks, attys, each will have some good, some bad features, find what you like the best. Try different juices on different toppers, there will be differences in taste and vapor, find the ones that work the best with the attys you like best.

A mech can be a nice vape but require a bit of research and reading. They have no safety electronics included so the only circuit breaker is you. They will vape from a high of 4.2V on a fresh battery, and this will lessen as you use the mod, so the voltage control for a mech is how long, how often, how many pulses you do with the fire button. You also need to be sure to buy a coil that has the ohm range you like to vape.

I use mechanicals and prefer them for the fact that because there are no electronics (other than the battery) there is little that can break. My 1st mod three years ago was a Super T P-18 and like the rest of my mechs still works perfectly. Paired with the right atty, carto, or rebuildable in the 1.5 to 1.8 ohm range I get a great vape. Granted, on mechanicals the power does decrease with use but as long as you don't drain them to far I really don't notice that drastic of a difference. A fully charged 18650 battery will last me most of the day. Full charge at 4.2 and I'll run it down to around 3.7 volts. At least for me the "voltage sag" isn't that noticeable.
