I,m a complete newbie to the E-Cig. So bare with me here.

I was looking at the JOYE eGo Black or the ones from modernvapor.com. I need a starter kit sense I don't have any of the supplies yet.

Please if you have better sugestions please let me know.

My second question is can you refill the cartiges on any of these?

Thanks

Ken Devorak.

I have heard that the ego is a good unit but don't know if that is what I would recommend to start with. Have you looked at any different models? What kind of features seem appealing to you? I think if you gave us a little more information about what you want or expect from your first one then we could help more.

If you're going to get an Ego....shop around. The prices seem to vary quite a bit. Tasty Vapor has a very decent price on the Ego starter kit....they do excellent ejuice as well (refilling is a breeze with the Ego) and that would be a good place to start.

IMO, the Ego is a great choice. Lots of us started with something smaller like the Joye510 or a kr808d-1. Eventually, we found that we wanted something more and either looked to mods or the Ego.

The only thing you might want to ask yourself is if you're concerned with the appearance of your ecig. The Ego doesn't look anything like a regular analog cig. For some vapers, that's an issue. Personally, I don't really mind what it looks like as long as it works well :)

Yeah, the eGo is a great starter. You might even keep using it for a good long time. The only thing I might add for a suggestion would be to get a box or two of the 510 cartomizers to go with it. They hold a lot more juice and don't need to be refilled as often as the 2 piece cartridge/atty setup.
    So, yeah, enjoy! :)

Appearance is not a huge issue for me but if it was - and I wanted something that looked more like a regular analog cig - would you be able to recommend anything on par with the ego?

I am looking to purchase my first ecig and that is probably my only last consideration. Not a super big deal but, something that I have thought about.

Also - does anyone recommend purchasing from Janty? Is there a benefit besides the 6 month warranty?

I know that everyone says how great the ego is and it probably is great but the replacement cost for a battery is $20+. If you are going to go with a larger unit like an ego that doesn't look like a cigarette then I would look at a mod that you can get regular lithium ion rechargeable batteries for a couple dollars each. I tend to think about long term cost and own a couple different mods that I have had for nearly a year. My batteries cost around $2-$3 each. The batteries last quite a long time but they are not as strong after a while and I replace them when I am not getting as strong of a hit as I want when they are fully charged. I have nothing against the ego but wonder how long the batteries stay good. I don't know if it has been out long enough to really get a good feel for battery life.

Well, I am definitely leaning towards the ego.... Anybody think I should wait until they start selling the 900 batteries because I don't see them for sale yet. Also - I see they have come out with these much larger cartomizers and atomizers.... Should I wait?

My primary concern really is battery life and being able to vape all day without having to refill or top off, etc. Of course - I have never done this before so really it probably in the end isn't an issue....I guess it all has to do with simply being overwhelmed.

I'm used to pulling out an analog, lighting it, and we're good to go...so the whole idea of carrying all kinds of extra stuff around, filling, refilling, changing batteries is not that appealing.

But - I can't wait to try it and hopefully just get into it.

Thing is, at least from my experience, big battery mods are a little scary, they look nothing like a cig and there are so many around. The prices of ego batteries have dropped considerably. While searching suppliers last night i found ego batteries listed for 15$. The eGo isn't perfect, there are crazy better mods out there. But for someone just starting, the eGo at first seems big but isn't too big to start off with. Kinda like starting in second gear instead of first.

You won't be able to vape all day without refilling etc... I wish it were true...
Carts are a pain... they need to be topped off a lot.... so you modify them... but still you'll want it to last longer.
Cartomizers are good... but... they won't last all day if you vape heavy... they need refilling too.

for me, direct dripping works... I get 10-20 drags, pop 5 more drops in and good to go... and each it is rich and tasty. switching flavors works as long as you don't throw something like atomic cinnacide or menthol in there. You'll want a separate atty for that.

I'd say get some cartomizers, get carts and lastly, spend the 5-10 on a drip tip.

In terms of ease of use, portability, aesthetics, and dependability, the nod is for the eGo imo. It's a unit you can stay with for a long time.

If you want a genuine Joye eGo, go to one of the best suppliers on the planet, Cignot.

If you want to try an "eGo" workalike at significantly lower cost, go to another one of the best suppliers on the planet, Tasty Vaper.

I've only been using a 510 and its been great. I do recommend tastyvapor.us though. Their 510 kit is the cheapest I've seen at 25 and they have the ego for 55. Their juices are the best too, and they put a few flavors on sale for 10 every week. Peach melba and apple pie are on sale this week and those are some of my favorite flavors.
