Hi everyone. Joined a long time ago but haven't posted much ( i know. boo me) Will try to be more active now that I am back into vaping.

I am looking for a good mechanical mod. Currently the stinger from vaporbeast is taking the lead
http://www.vaporbeast.com/stinger-mechanical-mod.html

Somewhat for looks since its nice but also because it takes a 18650 battery.

Does anyone else have any suggestions in the 50-70 price range for a good mechanical mod?

Also people tell me I need to build my own tank to truly get heavy vape clouds but really do not think I can do that. Do i need to bother building my own? If so is there a resource place I can go to learn about all that? Thanks :)

Do you want an original or a clone of a mech? I just got a clone of the nemesis today from hcigar.com for $33.00 and so far I love it the threads are really good and the build quality is too and for the most part you'd want to have a RBA or RDA and I used YouTube videos when learning about coil by building such as VapingWithTwisted420 pbusardo etc those guys helped me a lot

Soooo... with a mechanical mod the amount of power that you can put to a coil is dependent on the battery's charge ie. full charge = 4.2 volts down to app. 3.2 @ empty. If you want to get the most out of a mech then you really need to get down to .7 -.8 ohms I'm at .5 ohms now and can safely get to around .2 ohms with the batteries I am using.

Building coils is quite easy (check out Rip Trippers and many others on youtube) You do need an Ohms tester to verify the coils you have built and you need to also know how the lowest ohms that is safe to use with your battery. How low your ohms can safely be depends on your battery. The std Efest IMR 18650 (red) is app. 10 amp max draw. Their purple high-drain battery is app. 30 amps. The higher the max amp draw on your battery, the lower your ohms can safely be.
Check out Ohm's law | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators. You can plug in different ohms values and voltages and see how many watts that setup would create, as well as what the amp draw would be.

-I would def recommend starting on a VV/VW device to get you feet wet (many have built-in ohm testers so you can start rebuilding)

-If you really want to get into mechs def read the threads in this forum here--> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/465483-sub-ohm-vaping-discussion-safety-battery-info-warnings.html

Send me a PM if you have more questions, I am glad to help--

Also, have a look on ebay for mech mods. There are a ton at reasonable prices. I would start there just to see what catches your eye, then check for best prices once you know what you like. Most all mechs function the same way aside from minor details such as having a magnetic switch vs a spring loaded switch, or the type of adjustable / non-adjustable positive pin. Find what you like and ask us questions if you aren't sure. Also, if you don't mind waiting FastTech.com has very cheap prices though quality can be hit or miss so READ REVIEWS.
