Hi all. I'm ready to vap but am getting overwhelmed researching. I have decided on starting with the Joye Ego. I really could use some advise on some reliable suppliers for all of my goods. Also, a recommendation on a good juice that tastes like smoke (Marlboro) from that particular supplier. I assume most of you refill your own cartridges which I think is a good idea. Should I buy extra cartridges with the juice? Not sure about life spans of any of this stuff.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I ordered my eGo from Totally Wicked e liquid (there's is called the Tornado) and a bottle of the 18mg/ml marb flavored e-juice. It shipped fast and the e-juice is pretty good. The pre-filled carts that it came with were not tasty at all. But you get 25 and can just refill them with the other juice.
I also ordered e-juice and DIY supplies from ecigexpress I got there stuff super fast and they also sell eGo's
Good luck!

Good hardware choice.

Juice & extra parts:
Extra is always helpful. Maybe an extra box of 5 blank carts, but extra atomizers will be needed sooner or later. May as well save on shipping while you're at it and get the extra attys.

Juice, I'm going to break your heart here. None of them wil taste exactly like your cig. Sorry man, but I'm really happy about that. When I started I wanted one that tasted like my Non-filtered American Spirits, so I feel for ya, but something weird happened along my way to finding that perfect cig taste, I found something better. It may make no sense right now, but nearly all of us have made the same conclusion.

For juice I recommend getting a selection of small bottles. Different strengths AND different flavors. Get the cig flavors, get the cigar flavors, maybe even get the pipe flavors, but do yourself a favor, get a flavor that just sounds weird to you. At least one flavor that you cannot imagine wanting to smoke.

And I recommend this because so many of us, myself included, discovered the juice that worked for us with a flavor that we least expected to work. That one flavor that makes you wonder why you'd want another cig ever again.

Now, for vendors, please see the reviews sub-forum and see if anyone sounds good to you. Check out the suppliers forum and see if an ECF vendor is running a special that fits you.

Welcome to ECF and enjoy your new journey!

I've ordered from a lot of different ECF suppliers and never had any problems. From what I've seen they all work hard to keep their reputations. Don't forget to check the coupon master list for any discounts and their individual forum for any specials.

No juice will taste like smoking a cigarette. You may like the tobacco flavors but IMHO they taste more like chew than smoke. I'd recommend getting some USA made juice in small amounts and different flavors, PG/VG ratios and nic levels to get an idea of what you like. Be prepared to order your juice from one source and your hardware from another.

Five cartridges should be more than enough to get you started. They are inexpensive and last forever if you change the filler material yourself. Consider buying a 5-pack of cartos and a drip tip as well as some carts. You'll need to decide which methods you prefer and that's pretty much impossible until you've tried them. You may end up using more than one since each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

This all get a lot simpler once you start doing it, and thankfully, a lot more enjoyable. Good Luck!

The best peice of advise that i can give you is that all the reading you have done makes these units seem more complicated than they really are. All things equal, these units are all rather user friendly and once youhave them in your hand, it is pretty darn obvious how to use them.

So, dont panic too much. I bet you already have more than enough information about these things than you really need.

As for juice vendors.
The thing you need to know is that most of the vendors mix their own juices/flavors. So, one persons Marlboro may or may not taste as nice as the next vendors marlboro. I wouldnt look at this like it is a chore, or that you are wasting money trying to find a flavor you like. Instead, treat it more like your ordering a from tasters menu at a french restaurant. HAVE FUN WITH IT! lol

Enjoy the purchase! Its a good one!

I would suggest upgrading from the ego to a mod of some sort I have the roughstack on its way from Welcome to MadVapes LLC. BTW I also have a 510 and an ego. There is just to much to go wrong with these and the more custom units have replaceable parts (switch batteries etc) without having to replace a huge portion of the ecig. For example batteries for the roughstack are around $5 vs $12-$25 for an ego "battery". I also agree that you may try the "smoke"flavors but none of them taste like smoke. I swore when I started I would only use "smoke" flavors and now i have over a dozen flavors with just as many new ones on the way. madvapes also sells small bottles of e-liquid for around $2 each so you can sample cheaply. i also agree with the concept of buying some cartomizers, atomizer, and some extra cartridges. Madvapes isnt the only supplier out there but they are who I know so far.

LiteCigUSA = $55 for standard Joye EGO kit, free shipping for $75, only $2 on shipping for small orders, in case you need an item or two ever...

Accessories: If EGO the ONLY extra item that I think is best is a box or two of cartomizers. You need nothing else other than juice. Box of 5 blank BOGE = $8.

IF you decide to get an extra atomizer, get a low resistance one - to try those. Many people prefer the LR for stronger hits...

Juice: Two best are http://www.freedomsmokeusa.com/ and Backwoods Brew

Make sure you get enough juice. You will go through at least 2ml per day...

If you want to get a knockoff EGO for less money, the RIVA is less. Liberty Flights had the kit for $30 recently. Not sure if that sale is still going or not...

Just needed to thank all of you for your help. I've been using the Joye Ego and have been smoke free for 10 days now and don't believe I will be going back. After smoking for over 35 years I never thought it would be possible or even this easy. The ego works great. However I am still in the hunt for that perfect juice. I did find a guy locally that mixes his own. I sampled it and must say that I can't tell the difference from a regular Marlboro. I've tried some others out there that claim the same but it ain't even close. He may be the connection I needed. Plus I am liking the fruity flavors (never thought that would happen). So I must say that the advise you all gave me was top notch and I am eternally grateful. Can't thank you all enough.

Cheers,

A good hardware vendor I use a lot is Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA and their shipping is cheap

Get extra blank carts and get some juice (20-30ml) where you buy your e-cigarette so it will arrive at the same time

If you smoke full strength cigarettes you might want to try 24mg to start, if lights try 16-18mg, if ultralights try 10-12mg, and you can bracket that - like if you think 16-18 will be right for you, you could also get some higher and some lower. Some people need higher. Some need lower especially if they start vaping a lot more than they smoked.

Nothing is going to taste exactly like a Marlboro or any cigarette because cigarettes are burning paper and leaves and chemicals. Try to find a juice that gives you TH and at least smells/tastes a bit like a Marlboro. If you go to the main page of New Members and use Search Forum for Tobacco (or marlboro) then look at the threads whose titles are asking for Tobacco or Marlboro flavor, you will find lots of suggestions, all different. Try a few a see what you like.

And as someone else said, two good ejuice vendors are Backwoods Brew and FreedomSmokeUSA (there discount code freedomsmokeusa usually gives 10% off). I actually like FSUSA's Desert Ship - smells sort of like a freshly opened pack. I was not as fond of their Max/boro but some like it. Note - some of their juices are available as $2.25 sampler size but only in 24mg and fixed PG/VG. Go in the other sections for the rest of their flavors. Consider 70pg/30vg for the base, or 80pg/20vg for more TH.

Congrats Tom. Ten days may not seem like a long time but for us long time smokers ten days is a big deal. Keep up the good work and I'm glad you've got a good handle on the gear , that is probably the most important part of actually quitting, because if you have gear issues it is so easy to just get frustrated and start smoking analogs again.

Congrats on your success so far! I think finding the "perfect juice" is the absolute hardest part. But like Hoosier said, you do manage to find some really nice ones along the way. Also like sooooo many others, when I started this journey there was no way I could see myself "smoking FRUIT"??? Now my two favorite vapes are Chocolate Mint and Black Raspberry Champagne.

Something strange has happened to my brain along the way. The other day I tried to *only* vape a 6mg nicotine juice (I usually vape 18mg). There wasn't a single moment that I had an analog craving, but omg I just wanted to vape and vape and vape, LOL! Another weird thing that keeps happening is that (although I haven't smoked inside my house for YEARS), there are times when I'm doing something like cooking, and don't have my pv with me - and I get this crazy thought that I've left a cigarette burning somewhere (even though I'm not even vaping any tobacco flavors atm). Just weird.
