I have been vaping for a month after a fifty year analog habit. I have not had a analog since I stated. I am using a 1100 mah ego-twist battery and a mini protank 11 .juice from vapor chef, pink spots, Mt. baker.I was satisfied when I first started but lately I need more vapor. I try to turn the battery up to 4.8 volts then I get a burnt tasting hit. I tried the cotton wick replacement for the factory wick and didnt notice any improvement,if fact I think that no top wick vapes best.Do I need a different clearomiser? Is this why people go to mods? Thanks Dave

you might try drilling out one of the three air holes on the base of the mini PT2 to get more airflow (mine are a little stiff to draw on so I don't think a small increase in size on 1 will matter much - does not matter which one as the air flows up through the center of the atty head anyway)

air flow, higher vg (as mentioned above) or higher voltage (which you already stated did not work for you) is about the only ways to get more vapor

There is a limit to how much juice can reach the coil in a ProTank (or mini). Yes, more VG makes more vapor, but it's also thicker, and you may have reached the limit of your juice delivery device! You may want to try a Carto-tank.
I'm in the process of shifting from ProTanks to Tanks, and finding that
a) slightly bettor flavor
b) more "range" in voltage before any burning
c) no trouble "keeping up" with longer hits or "chain vaping" like you can get with a protank

First tank I got was from IBTanked - they're excellent quality for mid-range cost. And you can get one that'll work on a twist - go for the thinner diameter, and maybe use a ProTank "beauty ring"...

The newer models of clearomizers on the market are going to dual coils to get more vapor and flavor production.

The Innokin iClear 16, 30S, and the soon to be released iClear 30B all have dual coils.

You could arguably get more flavor and vapor by using a cartotank.

As someone stated, you could order from an e-liquid vendor who custom mixes your juices from scratch and allow you to use a higher Vg or 100% Vg for more vapor. Places like Virgin Vapor, Vaperite, and Dripeez are three e-liquid vendors that I use who allow that.

This is were you may want to consider upgrading to APV's. They are quite more expensive, but for the many reasons members have already mentioned here. A high end atomizer will some what suffice, but a quality mod to accompany it is highly recommended.

It took me about a month to take the next step in vaping, APV's.

are you looking for actual increase of vapor density ( heavier clouds?) or there just seems to be a general lack of taste/satisfaction?
what nic level are you at and are you doing a PG/VG mix?

for denser clouds, go to a hi % VG mix (100 - 80 VG%) increase the nic to get a stronger throat hit and start saving for the SVD and RSST ;)

The iClear 30b has been released. Got mine from sun vapers.com. Probably not for the best price around, but I needed replacement seal rings for my husbands mini protank II, saw it, and just bought it on impulse. Great clearo. The plastic feels much harder then the usual polycarbonate. Makes an almost glass like sound when I tap it. Who knows, maybe tank crackers won't crack it? Still, I'm scared to try a cinnamon or citrus in it. Flavor is great and so is vapor production, but I still like the dual top coil designs for flavor. I do enjoy bottom coils though for being easier to change flavors with.
