Hey all! Pretty new to vaping. I started vaping last week, and haven't had an analog since. Not even a craving. I work as a retail manager and have been thinking of quitting for awhile now, and one of my regular customers owns a shop so I was talking to her to stop buy later in the day.

So I head to her shop, and made some purchases, and felt accomplished! I had 2 cigarettes left, and smoked those that day to get rid of them, and haven't even thought of looking back. Anyways, for $60 I got a evod vv 1600mAh battery, aspire k1 tank, and a charger, with some "fire and ice" juice.

But a week later, I feel a different type of craving. I want a new battery, even though mine works just fine. know I know, probably a waste of money, but I found one I really like looks wise, and it always helps to have an extra, right?

Well the battery I was looking at was the Aspire Carbon Fiber 1300mAh, and even a Aspire CE5-S clearomizor. I just wanted to know, how decent of a upgrade is this set for a newbie? Worth the $35 for everything? And I was gonna pick up a 5 pack of bvc coils (was told to change them every 3 weeks, don't know how true this is) and I didn't know what Ohm to buy. Most sites seem kinda confusing and though an actual conversation would be better :p

Thanks for any advice!

As far as coils you can go for a 1.5 ohm or actually try a few out because it's selective. As far as batteries aspire is a good brand. Now as far as changing coils some of them last two weeks and some only last a couple of days. What I usually do is once a week or every two weeks I'll let my attys soaks for 15 minutes are so it gets rid of some of the ash that's on the coil.
It's not weird you want a different set up I went from an ego twist and an evod to an evic supreme but still use the evod because it has such great taste.

that craving you are talking about is something we refer to here as "shiny-itis" :)
Honestly, skip that. I'd just jump right into a regulated mod like an iStick 30w Eleaf iSmoka iStick 30W Box Mod Kit
Jumping up to that will push your clearomizers nicely and will let you upgrade much further in the future.
The MVP v3s are also supposed to be great, and MVPs have a track record for durability if you are hard on your stuff.
Also look into the nautilus tanks (with the BVC heads) or the Aero tank is cheaper and not quite as good, but still a fantastic vape. People are raving about the new Delta 2 tanks also, but that will set you back more and IMO its more for those that want giant clouds.

You are coming in at a great time! there are lots of well priced mods with lots of features!!
Check reviews before you buy anything (youtube is great for that).
the iStick is about $40 and the tanks I recommended are around $20-$30. It's a bit more than what you are looking to spend, but IMO you will have a MUCH better experience with it and it should help curb your "Shiny-itis" :D

hello DarkRelic, welcome to the big ECF - world of vaping :toast:

so your K1 uses the small bvc coils, which would work in all these tanks including mentioned CE5-S

those small bvc coils come in 1.6Ω & 1.8Ω mostly - 1.6Ω best for ego maybe, but try both...

Welcome xDarkRelic!

Extra batteries, tank, coils, and juice is never a bad purchase. I would recommend you have a look at:

eGrip 20w - very small and portable, good battery life.
iStick 20W, 30w, and 50w soon - I have the iStick 20w with an Aerotank v2 on top. Great little kit, but not as small as the eGrip. Good battery life.
eGo One - This one is on the way. I going to put a Kanger Nano on top, but this is a another amazingly small piece of kit. Can't speak to the battery life on this one yet, but man is the 1100mAh small! I grabbed two.

As you can see, pocketable is big with me. YMMV. I generally keep two tanks topped up and I switch throughout the day as the mood strikes.

Congratulations on big switch!

I second pufZeppelin. I just got an Mvp 20 watt. I've used Aspire clearos for a while as well and I think they are the best clearos on the market today. Yoy may be able to pick up the MVP 20 watt from Vapor Beast for 30 bucks using the coupon code "TENTASTIC". I never thought I would like a box mod until now. This thing is awesome. Paired with an Aspire ET-S BVC it's a great vape.
