Ok...Question...

In searching for affordable starter kits, I'm torn between a couple of things....

1: just manual batteries, or a kit that offers 1 manual and 1 auto battery

2: affordability....ordering from chinese distributors such as healthcabin (from the supplies list for the forum) or a US based distributor.

In today's hard knocks economy, determining to get into vaping and stop spending money on tobacco taxes for analogs it's not easy deciding on a supplier. Especially when you're on a budget. I've watched MistressNomad's videos and know it can be done on a budget, but what's your opinions on where to purchase. I'm noticing that alot of US distributors pricings are anywhere from $10 to $30 more expensive or more in some cases than ordering from China...but then again there's shipping to consider and time in waiting....

I'm just not sure if paying more for the kit and having a slightly shortened and less cost shipping, is worth it or equal to spending less on product and more on shipping and wait time?

Thanks for the input!!

between here and there
Hi again.

20% off your whole order!

This is to a company in ca....they have a large variety of ecig hardware....
Look at the Riva, or an eGo starter kit....with the 20 discount and 2.99 shipping(they ship priority and pay the difference themselves) you can't beat these prices...even at healtcabin..
order juice from another vendor tho, some like their juices, some don't--matter of preference, I guess,
:)

I'll input the little knowledge I have on this.

You may already know this but... if you are not sure what kind of battery you like I can kind of describe them. Automatic gives you more of a cigarette feeling, it is triggered by your inhale. Saying that, it can also be triggered by other things if you plan to keep it on your pocket. It also may have a cut off after so many seconds of inhaling. If you don't find yourself getting enough throat hit on your automatic, a manual can help remedy the problem with longer cut off times.

If you're looking for a good deal, watch the Suppliers Forum. There are some really nice deals posted there. The only other supplier I know that sometimes offers 35% off their items at times is vapor4life. A 510 model or compatible parts are very common and you may be more likely to find deals on them.

I'm always concerned with customs, so I order within the US. Occasionally I can find that nice deal or a very kind supplier that deserves a couple extra dollars.

We bought the Riva 510 Lite kits from Liberty-Flights to start based on recommendations from this forum. 3+ weeks in and not a problem at all, I've even ordered us each a spare kit and 2 others as gifts.

The battery on my first disposable was automatic and I liked that, but getting used to a manual was no big deal at all. After doing a lot of reading, I think I would ruin an automatic battery (or it'd be going dead every 45 minutes from overuse).

If I had it to do over again, I would have ordered a pack of cartomizers with our first kits. I lasted only a few days using an atomizer and cartridges - I was flooding it constantly and couldn't get the consistent vape that I first felt with the disposable.

Now I only use cartomizers, but my husband is still using the atomizer/cartridge with no problems at all. I got a little worried about the cost of cartomizers at first because I was going through them quickly, but I am getting better at making them last.

Just to give you a less conventional option. I'll mention the e-power. That's an eGo/Riva look alike that uses a generic battery. It's a little more expensive but, replacement batteries are around $5.00 a piece. You can get it at madvapes. Madvapes also has 50 ml of juice for 9.99 if you aren't picky and they ship in a hurry.

You can refill the cartos, nic...they should last you quite a while...

I too would go with somthing like a RIVA 510. I bought one from liberty flights, and also bought a eGo 510 with 1100 mAh (holds a charge much longer) from hoosierecigsupply.

For your juice, I would suggest a fellow MO kickbassvapors. They are a hour or so south of you, so shipping should be swift. They have great flavors (try the rice crispies or butter nut pecan). Also, I would advise you get some dual coil clear cartomizers. KBV has them five for $10. You will be able to see when they are filled, and they hold a days worth (or close) of juice.

Welcome, and gl with vaping. It has worked out great for many of us.

Thanks everyone for such great responses!!! I'll keep an eye out on kickbassvapor they're currently down, but they look like they'd be good! As for selecting an e-cig, I know I and my husband have both determined we like the 510 style at least to start with. We've gone since 4pm yesterday with our little disposables to try and get used to them and see what they're all about. My husband told me today when he picked me up that he's had about 1/2 of a an analog today and realized it tasted nasty and couldn't finish it, so he went back to puffing on his disposable one...it was nice to hear it. I managed to go all day at work and not nic fit or anything...was kinda nice to sneak a vape in the ladies room and such...was pretty cool... :)

So has anyone purchased from ivape.net? They've got a really nicely priced 510 style "bundle" available with an automatic and manual battery included, 2 atty's, plus carts, a case, and charger...I sort of wanted to stay with cartomizers, but I'm willing to try the individual atty's and cartridges too.

Yep, I've got juices from them...good service, quick delivery...haven't bought any hardware.

Thanks, I do refill them, it's been a big learning experience for me though. I killed a few, a few were duds out of the box, etc. I'm amazed at the people who can make one last a week - my best so far is 3 days. I'll figure it out eventually, I hope!
