Newbie to ECF-- my intro & a question

HEY EVERYONE!!

Noob to the forum but have been vaping exclusively since February 8, 2012.
Started my journey with V2 products and prefilled carts.
Switched to Vapor4Life products and switched over to tanks & liquids once I found out how much better it was.
I still use V4L for batteries but since they seemed to be out of stock on my favorite juice very frequently, I went to Smokeless Image for that purpose. Since their shipping speed seems to be stuck on slow, I went on the search to find another company closer to my location (was looking for one with a storefront within short driving distance) and I stumbled upon BlueMist.
While I was thrilled with their prices & how quickly I received my order, I was thrown by the juice. I ordered their "Smooth" which is described as a menthol with a hint of chocolate. First, I've never seen a dark brown juice & second, there was not a menthol taste at all. Emailed them & was told I needed to let the juice "steep" which I have never heard of but have been doing so. The flavor has not changed at all and the brown sediment clogged one of my Clearomizers.

Is there a secret to steeping?? Or is there as faster way to steep than just letting the bottle sit capless??

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Inked, yes the liquid options are overwhelming at times. The steeping process is pretty hit and miss. I am sure there is some kind of science to it but I sure have not figured it out yet. As a rule of thumb, I let the bottles set for about two weeks and give them a good shake every couple days. Some liquid taste good right out of the mailbox, but I still let them set. It gives the flavor a chance to interact on the molecular level. Think of aged wine or cheese. Also, in general, dark liquids will shorten your carto life but if you like the taste you just have to have backups ready to go. Congrats on kicking the stinkies and welcome.

Some people swear by power steeping in the microwave. Me personally, I usually let juice sit for a few days to a week after getting it and it usually smooths out a lot. I don't bother doing it in the dark with the cap off.. it just sits where I put it. If its still bad, goes back to the end of the rotation and ill try it again when I'm low on juice.

I've been vaping for over two years bow and the juice selection is still staggering.

I let the juice sit on a shelf for about a week and give it a good shake every day. (( If the juice smells / tastes like perfume, I remove the cap and let air get to it.)) Then I try it. If I don't like it, I repeat the process for another week. If I like it, I vape it.

Always shake your juice well before each use.

Hi Inked, First since this is post1 from you. Welcome to the ECF. Some liquids do well with aging, some do not. Second the darkness will likely get darker as the juice ages. This may be an issue for you since you have already gunked a carto, and will likely contine as well.

I personally try to order form vendors close to home for me, and since you also live nearby I will give you a little introduction to some of the ones close to us, GoodProphets.com - Your View into the World of Vaping... favorite vendor, if I order monday before about 2pm I will have it tuesday. Also Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA another really reliable local-to-us vendor, and within about two day shipping. If you are a menthol vaper Good prophets sells my favorite menthol vape "mentholate" from the gp usa liquid options, and its clear so its not so rough on the equipment.... Hope you find what you are looking for. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Thank you so much, I will absolutely look into both companies you mentioned.

And it's funny because you answered the next question I was going to post, finding a good menthol juice. I am strictly a menthol user, don't really enjoy anything that does not have a minty flavor. I dig Volt Ice menthol that I get through Smokeless Image. I also like V4L's Cool juice but that's the one that doesn't stay consistently stocked in my desired strength. V4L's regular menthol isn't bad, I started with their Cowboy menthol but the flavor seemed to change & seemed a little too "dry" for my taste.

I look forward to trying the "Mentholate." Any other menthols worth mentioning??

As far as menthols, Its really the only one I can say that I use all day, since it was available(almost a year and a half ago). I have tried too many to attempt to list, but always come back to this one. The other more minty one he has is minthol which i do like. The whole liquid question is so user specific that its really challenging to give you good advice . Other than get a few small bottles and give it a go. Then if there is one or two or more that you like stock up on those. I like the selection available on his site and he really takes good care of his customers, plus really huge selection along with very good pricing. I know that wasn't much help but thats what I got.......

ECBLend has several menthol/minty flavors you can customize. Another "flavor" to keep an eye out for is Koolada (some vendors call it "Cool Hit" or "Cold Shot"). I have the word flavor in quotes because it isn't so much a taste as a sensation. It's a derivative of menthol that adds coolness without the menthol taste. You can vape it by itself too. I keep a bottle on-hand to perk up boring juices, since it will make them cool, but not affect the flavor. The Flavor Apprentice has it w/o nic or you can get it from vendors with nic.

ECBlend has a fun mix to play with: Cold Fusion - eLiquid - ECBlend

ECBlend also has a standing 20% off coupon "10020"
