Thanks for the post! I'm amazed how helpful and nice folks are on this forum.

I got the 510 (manual)- its my first go at this... and its going good so far. My mistake was not ordering a good variety of juice! the place I got my stuff from was out of the good flavors.

I have some on the way from JC and others but having a hard time waiting on my Menthol fix!! X menthol smoker here - 5 days and counting.

W(BG)V, ;-)

Can you explain more 'built in pt connection' or a link explaining it.

Thanks.

I wondered about that myself. Does it mean that the 'Stick' can be used to run the show on battery power, or when plugged in via AC power, can be used as a passthrough?

The Janty Stick has a larger battery that provides better throat hit and longer life between charges. It also has a connection for a supplied USB pass through that allows you to use it plugged into a a USB port and it charges the battery at the same time.

Glad it was helpful. This forum was extremely helpful to me from the start, so I hoped I could pay that back somehow.

I just recently ordered the Kensington K38021US from Amazon.
The unit I got came with documentation whose type size is so small I had trouble reading it even with my glasses on. :-/ So I might have missed some info in it -- but I think they omitted info about the initial charging time! It took less time than I thought to charge the Kensington to full capacity, but on the advice of their support line I left it on the charger a full four hours.

Do you know the best USB pass through for the Yeti 501 that will work with the Kensington? Where do you suggest I buy one from?
I've bought 510 passthroughs from two vendors: Electronicstix and Widows Bead Work. Prices were comparable, as I recall. Widows Bead Work includes shipping in all prices. The passthroughs from both places appear identical to me. Both vendors were very attentive in e-mail and quick to ship. The passthroughs I got from both places have manual activation buttons and both have an additional battery in an in-line battery box (you've probably seen those in the illustrations).

I've heard people say that you have to charge that additional battery before the passthrough can be used. Maybe the battery supplied with the ones I got already had some charge. I was able to start using the passthroughs right away (via powered USB hub rather than by connection to the computer). That in-line battery does work for power in a pinch when the passthrough is off the USB connection, though I don't know how long the charge holds.

Thank you so much for your reply...oh crap, I just tried to vape my ink pen! I may bug you later once the equipment arrives.
:)

Voice over loudspeaker: "Sir, take the tinfoil hat OFF, step AWAY from the ink-pen, and walk backwards with your hands in the air. Farther. Now stop"...

<click><dial tone> Uh-oh. Was it something I said?

Yeah, message away afterward. This forum is generally so informative that it might as well be called VapeAPedia...

Thanks WV. Brings up another question. Do you know if other similar mods - SD, Prodigy, etc. have this same set up with a passthru? Sounds like a real 'feature' to me for the JS.

I see at the link:
"1 x Stick dedicated USB-E cable 0.75 cm or 1.50 cm (according to availability) for charging and vaping through USB port computer, power outlet or car"

Totally missed that. So.... Looks like a direct link (without the inline batt) to the JS charging the JS batts directly. Hmmm. Interesting.

Elendil.... do you use the passthru? Thoughts? Considerations? on it.

The JS is the only model of those mention to have this "built in" passthrough feature. I use it all the time while using my computer at home or work and I also have a USB plug fo rthe car and use it there to!

I have never had to switch batteries because of running out of charge since I got the JS (almost 30 days), excep twhen I ran them down on purpose for a review I was writing.

Elendil,

Thanks for the info. I may not wait for the Cameo, although I have a collection of 510 atomizers. I'll be watching for the v2 reviews.

And for how many days did you flick the ashes off of your e-cig?
I really thought I would be doing this for weeks, especially since it was one of the things I seemed to like doing with my analogs. I have been known to flick the ashes even when no ashes needed flicking, and sometimes even flick the burning "cherry" right off the end of my cigarette.

But strangely, I don't ever flick the electronic cigarette.
I still don't understand why.

LOL. But seriously...I find myself NOT holding my e-cig as I would hold an analog, so I don't flick ashes :) Especially my manual battery, I hold between thumb and first two fingers, not between first two fingers like an analog. I'm glad I hold it differently -- another aspect of changing all the little aspects of the analog habit.

510 Battery Instructions? Says charge 8 hrs then use 20 minutes then charge for an hour? How should I use for 20 minutes? Casually vape or power vape? I am having bad luck with the 510 batteries. Seem to only last a couple hours if that per battery.

If you are a pretty steady vaper, I've seen other members report that 2 hours is about all you will get out of 510 batteries.
