Newbie to RbA...is it safe??

Hello all, I recently purchased a kangertech subox with the minitank and a samsumg 25r battery.
Rebuilt the rba and from the calculators, it says im pushing 6 amps @ .5 ohms and 18 watts...i have no idea if this is safe or not, but seems pretty close to what was given with the kit..im still learning the laws and rules of rebuilding, but before i go any further, should I have a problem with this?? Any info would be great..thanks all!!

The 25R has a maximum continuous discharge rate of 25 amps. If you're only drawing 6 amps you're fine. The subox is a regulated device, so it won't really let you build anything unsafe. The lowest resistance it'll fire is .3ohm. At max power (50w) that still draws less than 13amps.

those settings are fine if thats truely where it is and not shorted at all i would suggest a multimeter or an ohm reader to chack your coil to insure it is where you think it should be dont wanna risk battery safety if there happens to be a short i only am suggesting this due to you saying the calculator says the coil is at a certain ohm and no mention of an ohm meter of some sort being used to double chack for calculator error or the possible user error. we all make mistakes would rather double/tripple check my work to insure safety and negate a possible hospital visit by a stressed battery.

This is absolutely true and is a good habit to get into. It is not as critical with a regulated device like the subox, since it has all of the safety measures built in (as do most regulated devices), but I'd still recommend your suggestions all the same.

yeah i have mechs that dont really get used with the simplicity of a regulated device at hand and no real battery drop off over time but i still use a multimeter or ohm reader before i place a built coil on my device and prebuilt for that matter rather add an extra level of protection than just fire any coil willy nilly

The mod and battery combination is certainly safe.
However, resistance is irrelevant on a regulated device. The amp draw is determined by output watts and battery voltage (amp draw is highest when the battery is at low charge) multiplied by the chips effectiveness. At 90% efficiency the draw on a battery that is close to empty would be more around 17.6A. Still leaves some wiggle room for battery aging and what have you. The Samsung 25R is a great battery.

It's 20A according to Samsungs spec sheet (https://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/theshorelinemarket/xtar-samsung-inr18650-25r.pdf)

So yeah, false advertising sadly.

According to @Mooch, who ignores spec sheets and advertising hype, and performs actual bench tests on the batteries to determine their capability, it's 20.

You'll often see different ratings for the same battery, depending on the company involved or how a battery tester sets the ratings for them. Some testers only look at the discharge graphs, i.e., the voltages, when choosing a rating. Others might include battery temperature as part of it but use different testing equipment or have a different temperature threshold for their ratings. Some testers factor in the fact that vaping pulses the battery so it can be pushed harder than the continuous current rating.

But, as noted above, the Samsung 25R is rated as a 20A battery by the manufacturer.

Lol, not 3 coils...3 different coils i built.tried one at a time, but all had dry hits...went back to occ coil for now till i fure out whats up

Dry hits are usually caused by a wicking problem, not a coil problem.
