Hi..... I am new to the forum. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for years and my wife was closer to 1 pack a day. Back in August when the new Cig tax went way up in Minnesota and a carton started costing about $75, I decided it was more than time to quit. We started with the Blu ecigs at our local gas station and quickly moved into V2's that I found online. That went OK for awhile but left me still wanting a real smoke. We decided to upgrade our equipment and went out to one of the many B&M stores that have popped up here in Minnesota and bought 2 Itaste VV/VW units which came with carts, wicks and everything. Since then I have been trying some new tanks including the Kanger protank but have finally settled on the original Iclear 16 and 30 tanks as my favorite. Now I am itching to possibly try new things but I don't think I am chasing after bigger clouds or anything, just a quality battery type system with a longer charge time. We each currently have 2 Itaste VV/VW units so both of us can charge one and vape the other.

I just wanted to post my first time and get the ball rolling. I love being less smelly, having no morning (or all day) cough and my kids even think we are doing the right thing. I love being able to Vape at a variety of bar's, eating establishments and even at the movie theator the other day without having to go outside in this bitter cold weather we are having. I am looking forward to reading and learning more on this forum to enhance my experience!

Hello, Welcome, and Congrats to you and your wife on making the switch. Glad you decided to join us here on ECF and share you story. As for something with longer battery life, if you like a box mod, the Innoking MVP2 is a great device with the same features as the iTaste 3vv and has a 2600mAh battery that last forever. It's much smaller than it looks on the computer. Good luck and Happy Vaping!

Thanks for the nice welcome! I have thought that the MVP2 or similar might be my next upgrade. The MVP would likely be a good choice as all my tanks would work with it.

I am glad my wife and I made the switch. Funny thing is I am actually having the easier time as my wife still seems to crave a cig every now and then while I really have not even wanted to go back to them. It's probably easier for me as I have been the one to throw myself into the care and maintenance, purchase and all other aspects of the Ecigs. She is along for the ride and does enjoy the RY4 flavor she is kind of stuck on. I am trying new flavors, looking at upgrades and such which keeps my mind off smoking I guess. The way I see it is that we would be spending easily $125+ a week on smokes at our 3 pack a day habit we had. I hate spending that kind of money and Ecigs are much cheaper overall.

You say, my wife still seems to crave a cig every now and then while I really have not even wanted to go back to them

May I ask what nicotine strength you guys are using? My husband and I (also previously at 3 packs per day, combined) are very, very new to this, and using 12 mg right now. I'm fine with that all the time and don't crave a regular cigarette at all (quite the opposite!), and he feels like he does wants an occasional cig -- usually first thing in the morning with his coffee, so I'm thinking we should get a higher strength liquid for his morning vape and see if it takes care of that urge.

(I don't know if it matters, but like you, between us, I was the one who smoked more on a day to day basis, and trying vaping was also my idea; my husband could easily skip cigs for a whole day, or only smoke two or three... but would also sometimes smoke like a mad thing when drinking or when working on something with intense concentration. He's okay with mostly vaping, but hasn't completely converted 100% in the short time we've been doing this.)

Well done on going 5 months! I started vaping 3 months ago and have cheated a few times but hope to stop completely now I have my VV device.

The price is what done it for me too... In London, it's not unusual to pay £8.50 for a pack ($14) and I hated giving the government so much tax for it. They are so strong on promoting how bad tobacco is for your health yet are trying to profit more as more people quit!

I use 18mg and it's easily enough to curb any cravings. Maybe remove all analog equipment (cigs, ashtrays, lighters) from the house to discourage him?

We both started at 16mg and found that to be too much. We found a shop that lets you adjust to any level you want 1mg at a time. We both went to 12 then 11 then 10 and are now both at 8. She maybe should think about a higher one just for those moments but actually she got headaches with the first stuff at 16mg.

I moved from New Mexico to the twin cities. If you don't mind me asking, are you in the twin cities, and if so which shop do you use? My shop in New Mexico was literally half the price as up here.

No problem.... I do live in the near northern suburbs about 10 minutes from DT Minneapolis. I typically go to the ECig Crib in .... Rapids for juice. They adjust to any level of nicotine by 1mg measurements. I think they go as high as 24mg and low as 0. For my other supplies such as wicks, tanks and such I found a great place that carries the Innokin stuff. It is the E Cig Arsenal. I have been blown away by their quick delivery and generally better prices than I see for that stuff at the local B&M stores. I actually have two that recently opened in my city alone but have not done much with them as I really like my flavors that they have in .... Rapids at the ECig Crib.

Welcome to MN from New Mexico! How you like the cold weather?!?! :vapor: Makes for some great outdoor vaping! ;)
